Grammy-winning artist Kimbra is heading to her homeland New Zealand as part of her ‘A Reckoning Tour’ on March 31, at The Factory in Hamilton, with supporting act Georgia Lines. The pop star’s tour is in support of her latest ten-track album, ‘A Reckoning,’ which was rolled out in January. Kimbra embarked on her ‘A Reckoning’ North America & Europe tour earlier this year, kicking off in Copenhagen on January 21. She had shows in over 30 cities, including Paris, Dublin, New York, Toronto, Houston, Amsterdam, Berkeley, and Los Angeles, with a final stop in Englewood, Colorado, on March 18.
“NEW ZEALAND! I have two shows coming up in the homeland!” the singer-songwriter wrote while announcing her upcoming gigs on Instagram. “I can’t wait to see you. My first headline show in the town I grew up in, Hamilton (!!!) on March 31 and then @synthonyshow festival in Auckland April 1!”
Kimbra won 2 Grammy awards for ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ (Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance), thanks to her feature on Belgian-Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gotye’s 2011 tune. Garnering over a billion streams on Spotify and standing on the top of the charts, the song became a massive hit.

The New Zealand-born songstress also boasts two Best Female Artist ARIA Music Awards under her belt. Her debut album ‘Vows’ too was a top-20 hit on the Billboard 200. After ‘Vows’ came her sophomore record ‘The Golden Echo’ in 2014, followed by her third studio album ‘Primal Heart’ (2018). Kimbra has collaborated with the likes of English singer-songwriter Jacob Collier, Snoop Dogg, and Bilal. She recently took to Instagram to announce that she will be making her Sydney Opera House “headline debut” this May.
The Aotearoa singer-songwriter Georgia Lines, who was the opening act for George Ezra last year, will also perform at upcoming event in Hamilton. “For so many years I have been so deeply inspired by @kimbramusic ✨ watching her do her thing, continuously creating incredible body’s of work with such depth, whilst producing, paving a way & being so clear with her vision as an artist,” Georgia Lines shared on Instagram. “What an absolute dream it is to open for her at her show in Hamilton as a part of her reckoning tour!
