Mumbai-based artist sudan gets around to releasing his single, ‘omg,’ after extending his production skills for some of India’s rising indie artists.
Producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist sudan, aka Pritpal Sudan, stands front and center with the tantalizing track that is ‘omg.’ Accents of an acoustic grand piano amidst subtle pit-a-pat and extended synth notes kick off ‘omg,’ while sudan’s vocals play faintly from a distance, musing the plights of falling in love. The minute-long buildup quickly unsheathes his vocals, playing over patterned percussions and distinct synths, leading to a tastefully curated and intended rip-roaring outro.
Having shouldered a plethora of projects as a producer, this new track resonates with his impending self-titled record, ‘sudan?’ The album is scheduled to be released on June 21, 2024, and it sees sudan contribute to the project as a songwriter, producer and mix/master engineer. He has previously affiliated himself with being part of the duo Khoya Firdaus, making ‘omg’ one of his first solo outings.
sudan’s production and mixing prowess is displayed in the canon of artists such as Rohan Kamath, Swara, Anika, Abhidaan and more. Concurrently, he has also joined the likes of Anoushka Maskey, LAVI, Foenix, and BENDI as a bassist.
