Swarathma’s Upcoming India Tour To Be Powered By Solar Energy

In the first of hopefully many more to come, Indian folk-rock icons Swarathma take the lead on powering their concert experience with clean, renewable energy with the help of Pune-based Amperehour Solar Technologies.

Swarathma’s eco-friendly tour takes flight in Mumbai on Saturday, May 25, followed by gigs in Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Indore, Gurgaon, and Jaipur. Fueled by green energy, the tour is in support of their fourth studio album ‘Raushan’ (out later this year) and also coincides with the release of the music video for its title track.

Known for their electrifying performances and music, the Bangalore-based group circles themes of nature and the environment. They developed this tour with solar energy pioneers Sustain Plus Energy Foundation and SELCO Foundation, also tapping into a provider of energy storage solutions – AmpereHour Energy for this project.

Bassist for the band, Jishnu Dasgupta, said, “As a band, we are excited to bring alive a concert experience that is friendlier to the earth. The experience of co-creating this vision with our sustainability and engineering partners has been very enriching. It is almost as much fun as planning the set lists and the concert itself!”

Dasgupta also delivered a sneak peek into how the eco-conscious tour will operate via social media, showcasing the battery packs, inverters, transformers, and cooling systems inside a twenty-foot container required to power the impending tour.

Additionally, Swarathma has also collaborated with the SELCO Foundation to develop the song ‘Dhoop‘ or ‘Harsh Sunlight,’ which sheds light on small businesses in rural areas that support utilizing sustainable energy for their livelihoods.

“We are thrilled and honored to partner with an iconic Indian band like Swarathma on this unique tour”, expressed AmpereHour Energy CEO Ayush Misra. “Our Battery-based Energy Storage Systems have the potential to replace diesel-based power generation that have been used historically for powering events and this concert will act as a proof of concept that we hope to scale across the entire entertainment and events industry, helping them decarbonize their operations.”
