18-year-old musician and performer Shriya, who plies her trade in R&B and soul genres, has released a brand new single about the rush of intimacy titled ‘Like That.’
“I crafted this track envisioning it blasting through nightclub speakers, as it strikes the ideal balance between ‘chill’ and ‘groove,'” says Shriya.
Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Shriya Rao, who goes by her first name, has clocked up five single releases in her young career so far, all with impressive streaming numbers. Shriya previously appeared on SoBo House of Music’s collaborative EP ‘Dance With Me,’ which was released earlier this year.
Expanding her artistic palette in the realm of contemporary/alternative R&B and soul music, Shriya brushes on glossy vocal textures and expressive lyricism in her newest offering, ‘Like That.’ She weaves a groovy chill-pop R&B production polished with velvety vocals, lightly peppered with shiny guitar parts and dandy bass vibrations.
Released toward the tail-end of July, ‘Like That’ has amassed over 20K streams on Spotify. Its music video, directed by Varun Kanakia and Abhay Mehta, has garnered nearly 100K views as of the time of writing.
Speaking about ‘Like That’, the artist stated, “I explore the thrill of closeness, supported by sophisticated production that blends a dynamic rhythm section, taking listeners on a journey of vivid imagery. My lyrics beckon you into my world, where desire and intensity merge. The song exudes romantic energy.”
