Illuminating India’s burgeoning electronic and hip-hop scene is Welupt Collective, who, in tandem with Carrabian-style haunt Raasta Bombay, dish out a hair-raising EDM meets hip-hop + beatbox cypher rager.
Scheduled to take place on the eve of International Women’s Day from 8 PM onwards and curated by FeniFina, this bash is primed to flood the dance floor with sways of drum & bass, UKG, house, disco, dub, electro, bass, and a twist of Indian classical music, all pinched with the fiercest names in rap and hip-hop music.
The line-up stacks up with arguably one of the most recognizable DnB producers in the country, the sari-sporting Smokey, flanked by heavy-hitters Rouge, Rayska, Nu.Sense, and Takeshi. Mumbai/Toronto rapper Josefina Dsouza aka FeniFina pilots the hip-hop + beatbox cypher squad and arrives on the back of featuring on ‘Jevlis Ka,’ a desi-dance beat from M-house pioneer Kratex.
Beatboxer Sadhana, rapper/classical singer Krishna Makwana, rapper Inspectah G, and multilingual rap artist D Raashi shape up the hip-hop card. D Raashi enters the fray on the back of releasing a lethal rap single titled ‘ASTITVA.’
For attendees to fully grasp the pulse of the performing artist and make this experience all the more immersive, Raasta Bombay will also throw down a dedicated dance area in proximity to the DJ booth.
Here’s what the performers at Pre Women’s Day Party have to say about their set –
SMOKEY
“My upcoming set at the Pre-Women’s Day Party is going to be something truly special. It’s more than just a performance, it’s gonna be a celebration of womanhood. Blending Indian elements with bass, my set will carry the energy of generations of powerful women who have paved the way, as well as those still fighting to be heard – basically an offering & expression of strength and freedom. Being part of an all-female lineup is incredibly meaningful. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come in this profession and how much further we still have to go.

“Representation matters, and every time we take the stage, we show the world that women belong here, not just as performers, but as innovators, curators, and leaders. For so long, the industry has been dominated by male voices, but this night is proof that the tide is turning. More than anything, I want my set to feel like a shared experience, one where every woman in the crowd, every person who has ever felt unheard, knows that their presence matters. I hope the music creates a space where we can all let go, feel seen, and celebrate our power together.”
ROUGE

“You wanted a women’s day party, expect the unexpected… Every song will be as powerful as the women playing them. In an industry that books women on an expansive list of things, Welupt Collective was looking for one thing – girl power, not just for the artists but for their audience too. From Doechii to Rihanna, Afro to DnB, we’re looking forward to a genre (and mind) bending, power-packed evening. Get ready to go home with your heels in your hand!”
RAYSKA

“My set will feature a high-energy blend of Jersey club, baile funk, GQOM, and dubstep. You can look forward to hearing a variety of my exclusive mashups and edits, which fuse elements of commercial, rap, drill, and pop music with heavy bass-driven sounds. I always aim to keep my sets dynamic and filled with surprises, so prepare for the unexpected. The lineup for this event is nothing short of incredible, and I am beyond excited to share the stage with such talented artists. With the versatility of all the performers in their art forms, I’m sure all of us put together are going to throw one hell of a party.”
NU.SENSE

“Party culture’s evolving, and if you don’t get it, you’re already behind. I love how Welupt is creating a space for women, queer people and everyone else to come to express themselves without looking over their shoulders. Safe parties = Safe world! I’m gonna be keeping it bouncy, 135-140 BPM vibes. THERE WILL BE NU.SENSE!”
INSPECTAH G
“My set for the Pre-Women’s Day Party will be a high-energy performance, featuring released tracks like ‘Hip Hop’s Soldier’ and ‘Hush Haters,’ alongside some new, unreleased material. I’m aiming to deliver a dynamic and engaging show for the audience.

“Being part of an all-female lineup is incredibly meaningful. It’s great that we get to highlight the contributions of women in a scene where we are often underrepresented. I’m genuinely excited to perform and represent female artists. This is about empowerment, and it’s a powerful reminder of the skill, creativity, and professional dedication of women in music.”
TAKESHI

“This is a huge moment for me – my debut DJ set and I couldn’t be more excited to step behind the decks for the first time! To be playing alongside an incredible lineup of women, in a space built on energy, creativity and empowerment, makes this even more special. I’m bringing everything I’ve got blending hip hop, house, DnB and a little bit of trap and pop. It’s a set that’s high energy yet vibey, bass heavy but smooth. A balance of hype and chill to keep us moving. I can’t wait to share what I’ve got. This is shaping up to be an incredible night and debut!”
SADHANA TAWDE

“Prepare for an electrifying evening on March 7th! I’m performing my beatboxing as part of a phenomenal all-female lineup in a pre-Women’s Day celebration brimming with energy and empowerment. Expect a fusion of rhythmic beats and a powerful atmosphere as we honor the spirit of women everywhere.”
