On May 10, 2025, the largest lean assemblage crams into Pointers Club for the first-ever LeanFest, loaded with chunks of drum & bass courtesy of Auckland’s finest DnB acts. Backed by Pointers’ cutting-edge sound system, the music is fueled by a host of Kiwi artists, who concoct meaty blends of drum & bass, dubstep, 140 bpm, jump-up, techstep, halftime, and more. Giving ‘lean’ a striking new narrative, Pointers and Showusyourlean pair up for LeanFest, an extraordinary night of music and dance churned with plenty of lean stances. The mavericks behind the deck line-up are as follows: Wellington’s Daniel Sherriff aka SHREDDY goes B2B with city mate Sam Jones, who performs under NOS. Drum and bass label/collective A.Street sits on the card alongside EM (Emily Henderson), VECTIC, TAYZA, and Kusanic.
One of the most promising and rapidly rising acts in the Kiwi drum & bass scene, duo Peak Havoc (Theo and Kyron), rounds out the artist card.
Leanfest kicks off Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10 PM onwards and will also include several spot prizes at the venue in addition to online competitions. To win double passes and bar tab credits, you can post your best lean pose on social media and use the #leanfest to enter this online contest. All entries must be published before May 9, 2025.
We got word from Auckland-based DnB producer VECTIC, who spoke about the gig with us. The artist said, “I’m super excited to announce that I’m playing Leanfest at Pointers Bar on the 10th of May. It’s a super stacked NZ lineup featuring names like Shreddy, Nos, A Street, Peak Havoc, and many more. My set will be full of brand-new energetic blends and brand-new dubs of my own.
