Reimagining his bass-trap single ‘Worlds Apart’ (2025), Canada’s renowned masked deck wizard, singer, and composer Sickick lays the groundwork for his ‘Remnants: Dark Side’ album.
Sickick hails ‘Worlds Apart (Dark Side Mix)’ as “a statement piece,” and it marks a sharp transition from the melodic R&B and pop soundscapes on his debut album ‘Remnants’ (2025). With this release, the DJ/producer looks set to introduce reworked mixes of the entire album, catering to fanatics of his jolting dance music brews and his live sets.
The tempo dials it up to eleven on the remixed version of this track, while also keeping the brooding hues in place, delivering a high-octane club-ready banger you can sink your teeth into. It wires together Sickick’s emotive vocals with unwavering electronic beats, echoing bass action, and haunting atmospheric textures – a staple of Sickick’s signature style.
“It redefines the emotional palette of the original while setting the tone for everything that’s coming with Dark Side. It’s darker, it’s harder, and it reflects where I am creatively right now,” Sickick voiced in a press statement.
“Worlds Apart (Dark Side Mix),” the teaser for the ‘Remnants: Dark Side’ project, ushers in Sickick’s most ambitious phase yet, stretching the boundaries of creativity and advancing his storytelling/sound design combination.
Sickick currently sits on five million monthly listeners on Spotify and has received endorsements from the likes of Missy Elliot, Jason Derulo, Shaq, Timbaland, and Sean Paul, as well as heavy-hitting collaborations with Madonna on ‘Frozen’ and Post Malone on ‘Cooped Up / Return Of The Mack.’ He is gunning for a Grammy Award, at which point he will finally take off his mask.
