Zian B – ‘Fallin’

Trust in the Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Zian B to craft a cozy, soulful number stitched from despair and heartache on ‘Fallin,’ her newest release. On this outing, the renowned jazz musician digs deep, unearthing emotions from a time of unrest to gradually reach a state of healing and strength.

‘Fallin’ sees the independent artist and vocal coach step away from her usual jazz mold, comfortably soothing listeners with her presence on an R&B, soul, and gospel-inspired ballad. Regular collaborator Tizaan Alphonso contributes somber piano arrangements that support Zian’s commanding voice, holding each lyric with a heartfelt intensity and emotive flair.

Looking back on the song, Zian expressed in a press note, “Writing this song helped me face the truth and grieve what was. I think that’s how healing begins: when you start seeing things as they are, not as you hoped they’d be. Years later, while fooling around on the piano, this melody poured out of me — and I ended up channeling all that heartbreak into something achingly sincere.”

She further added, “I hope this song reaches anyone who needs to grieve and heal from a broken heart — anyone lying awake at night, trying to move on from someone they loved deeply.”

Packers & Movers – ‘Foolish Thoughts’

Bengaluru-based indie-rock outfit Packers & Movers weighs in on “a raw confrontation between love and reality” on their second single, ‘Foolish Thoughts.’ Steeped in alternative rock hues and a post-rock setting, the track is deliciously built with creamy guitar rhythms and sturdy drum action to conjure an easy-on-the-ear indie gem.

Vocalist and songwriter Dhanush Acharya brings a calm vocal presence to the fold, even as the heavy themes run heavy. The group describes ‘Foolish Thoughts’ as “emotional collision between self-doubt, disbelief, and the quiet confusion that lingers long after heartbreak.”

Dreamhour & Dokodoko – ‘IDGAF’ (EP)

Siliguri/Gangtok-based duo Dreamhour (Debo Sanyal) & Dokodoko (Kritika Nepal) trade their synthpop identity for a more experimental, genre-fluid exploration on their new seven-track EP ‘IDGAF.’ Entirely self-directed and produced at a home studio, this EP leans into eerie tones, glitchy textures, distorted layers, and crisp minimal details.

You’ll hear tracks like ‘MADE OF FEET,’ pushing forward with an avant-pop layout, ‘T3@53’ diving into brooding, electro-charged swirls, and the title cut unfolding with a slow-burning build that throbs with a bass-fueled venom.

Dreamhour described ‘IDGAF’ on social media as “a small green shift into our world, made through a strange, stretched-out period where everything kept changing, possibly including us.”

Dizlaw & GURBAX – ‘Ghulaam’

A month on from his much-loved release ‘Jahanpana,’ Mumbai-based hip-hop artist Dizlaw steamrolls ahead with his next single titled ‘Ghulaam.’ Produced by trailblazing DJ and producer Kunaal ‘GURBAX’ Gurbaxani, the track sees Dizlaw slip in a moody, almost chill-pop sound to assemble a musical illustration about the tension between seeking freedom and maintaining loyalty.

Blending a desi hip-hop vibe with mellow, soulful rap verses, ‘Ghulaam’ hooks listeners with its smooth and compelling flow. The track reflects how a fleeting moment can dismiss old burdens while creating new attachments, making it, as the press release states, “a portrait of love that frees you halfway, only to pull you right back in.”

Arjun C – ‘Common People’

Ahead of hitting a milestone career moment with his first festival slot at Royal Enfield Motoverse in Goa, alternative indie musician Arjun C lodged yet another loopworthy tune in ‘Common People.’ The track courses his usual indie-pop, soft-rock, and dream pop flavors with an added seasoning of bossa nova.

Produced by audio engineer Aman Saxena, ‘Common People’ shines with upbeat tones, bright synths, and hazy, dreamy tones. Arjun’s mellow but sharp vocal delivery floats the question, “What’s wrong with being super duper chill? Why do I gotta climb up this big hill?”

Prithviraj Jadhav & The DANGERMEN – ‘Hey Diane’

Bouncing off their explosive debut single, ‘By Your Side,’ Prithviraj Jadhav & The DANGERMEN spotlight a short-lived spark shared by two souls, one that burns brightly only to vanish quickly on their new single, ‘Hey Diane.’ Inspiration comes from the late actress Diane Keaton’s iconic performance in and as “Annie Hall” (1977), shaping the out-and-out rock single that channels the vintage rock energy from that era.

Packed in are powerful vocals from frontman Prithviraj Jadhav, booming guitar scales from Karan Barnabas, twined with bass perfection from Vinay Rao, and high voltage drumming from Nicholas Umrethi. As per the band, “The track explores love’s beautiful, bittersweet impermanence in a world obsessed with ‘forevers.'”

Sanoli Chowdhury – ‘Seasons of Life’ (EP)

Bengaluru-based music producer and founder of Femme Music, Sanoli Chowdhury, guides listeners into a calm, meditative escape via her new six-track concept EP ‘Seasons of Life.’ Out via Arden Records, the project draws from the Sanskrit calendar’s six seasons and shapes each one into an immersive soundscape that mirrors its mood and essence.

You are met with arrangements constructed with Indian folk elements and instruments like tabla and bansuri, meddled with airy ambient layers and peaceful lo-fi production. ‘Vasanta’ or spring opens the journey with fresh running water, chirping birds, gloomy bass picks, and wistful electric guitar chords. ‘Varsha,’ the phase of monsoon, settles into a tranquil atmosphere of steady rainfall, gentle piano shifts, and warm synths. ‘Shishira,’ the winter months, closes the set with crackles of a bonfire and a soothing saxophone performance from musician Jesse Bannister.

Speaking about this EP, Sonali shared in a press statement, “This project grew to become very personal. The six seasons in Indian tradition don’t just describe the weather; they describe the circle of life. Emotionally, spiritually, creatively. I wanted to score that feeling.”

Allan Martyr – ‘You Take My Breath Away’

Gurgaon indie musician Allan Martyr digs into one of the first materials he worked on to sculpt out his third release this year, titled ‘You Take My Breath Away.’ For Allan, this single “captures that innocent, overwhelming feeling of falling in love for the first time, the kind of love that leaves you breathless.”

Light tapping percussion and a warm, jazzy bassline open the single. From there, Allan guides you into a calm, nostalgic space with his acoustic guitar and mellow voice. “It’s one of the first songs I ever wrote, and it’s always held a special place in my heart,” conveyed Allan via email.

His previous efforts from 2024, ‘Let Me Dream A Little While’ and ‘Every Day Of The Week,’ have racked up over 14K and 16K streams on Spotify, respectively.

REBLE – ‘New Riot’

A full-fledged wrecking ball in the rap game, Daiaphi Lamare, flourishing under REBLE, drives forward a synth-heavy, sharp-edged hip-hop presentation that positions chaos and rage as pillars of strength on her latest single, ‘New Riot.’

Fiery, passionate, and intense, the rap song was born from rage and brewed during a breaking point for REBLE. Its distorted, unapologetically raw sound, crafted by DJ/producer Parimal Shais, combines raging guitar work from Krishna M Sujith with a hit of phonk, creating a hard-hitting foundation for REBLE to fire out her feisty rap vocals.

In a press statement, REBLE mentioned, “The song is about embracing chaos and rage as sources of power. It’s a declaration against being boxed in or underestimated. Through anger, I embrace the universe’s chaos — I’m only a tiny reflection of cosmic chaos.” Since its release, the music video for ‘New Riot,’ directed by Anush Surya Kumar, has amassed over 306K views on YouTube.
