Lethal Norwegian duo Mentum have launched a groovy new dance bop titled ‘Breathe.’
Carrying the tag of one of the finest electronic talents to emerge from the Nordics are electronic music producers Tim Terkelsen and Finn Eriksrud, who thrive as Mentum.
Patched together since 2016, they have built a reputation for distilling a darker and more refined cut of modern house beats and pairing emotive depth with mainstage power and technical precision.
On ‘Breathe,’ Mentum rolls out dancefloor delight, carved from a hooky driving beat, bass-pierced rhythms, snappy percussion, and a simmering carpet of tension-soaked textures. Laced through it all are siren-like vocal samples wailing the title, giving the track a restless feel.
In a press statement, the duo explained, “‘With ‘Breathe,’ we wanted to capture the visceral moment where you let yourself go, and the world disappears, triggered by a total connection to someone else.”
“It’s a track born out of that tension between underground emotion and pure, high-energy dance precision. For us, it’s about more than just the drop; it’s about the weightless feeling you get when the music finally takes over,” they added.
Completing ten years in the game and cutting their teeth and festivals worldwide, Tim and Finn now channel their deck ingenuity into their new label LOCO MOTIV Recs, which debuts with ‘Breathe.’
2026 marks a significant chapter for Mentum’s collaborative project, as they set their sights on ferrying their sounds to a wider audience. Along the way, they have earned praise from the likes of The Chainsmokers, R3HAB, and David Guetta.
‘Breathe’ by Mentum is out now and streaming on all major audio platforms.
