Alright, listen up! We're about to drop some serious knowledge on the Manchester Reggae Scene that's gonna blow your mind. This ain't just music; it’s a movement, a legacy, and you're about to get the inside scoop on the heavyweights who keep the beats alive and the vibes electric.

Trevor Roots – This man is a powerhouse in the reggae world. Born in Jamaica and raised in Manchester, Trevor's been setting stages ablaze since the '80s. He kicked off with the vocal duo Hippie & Bevi and became the voice of Manchester's own Mega Tone Sound System. Fast forward, and he's leading Trevor Roots & The Collaborators, a band that's all about energy and positive vibes, lighting up every venue they hit. Not to mention, he's the frontman for The Buffalo Soldiers, a Bob Marley tribute band that's the real deal.

Calypso George – Enter George Linton, aka Mento-B, aka Calypso George. A true guardian of Caribbean musical traditions in Manchester, George has been keeping the spirit of Jamaican folk music alive. Influenced by legends like Count Lasher and Lord Kitchener, he's not just performing; he’s mentoring the next generation and spreading those infectious rhythms across festivals and cultural events.

The General – A stalwart in the Manchester reggae scene, The General has been delivering soulful reggae performances for over four decades. His dedication to the genre has solidified his reputation as a key figure in the local music community.

So, there you have it—the titans of Manchester's reggae scene. These aren't just artists; they're the heartbeat of a cultural revolution. Get ready to move, groove, and be part of the legacy.

🎧 DJ CHRIS CRUIKS – Manchester legend and master percussionist with over 30 years in the game. Former Hacienda house percussionist, founding member of Inner Sense Percussion Orchestra, and collaborator with heavyweights like Rae & Christian, AIM, Fingathing, and Jesca Hoop. He’s shared stages and studio space with artists from the Grand Central Records family and rubbed shoulders with icons like Flava Flav, Alexander McQueen, and Paul Smith. Expect deep grooves, afro-latin rhythms, and serious dub energy.

🎸 Reggae musicians & surprise guests popping in throughout the day and night – expect roots, dub and pure soul power from start to finish.

🎤 LIVE band led by the incredible Mary – yes, she’s cooking and singing, bringing the soul to your plate and your ears.
