This is a journey into sound.

Since Drum & Bass was born out of Hip Hop & Jungle, a huge number of bands and producers have reinterpreted each sound over and over, and some have continued to explore the fusion of the two.
Such is the gulf between the two in tempo, it allows for a beautiful layering of half or double time, and many artists have continued to explore these relatively uncharted waters.

Some DJ’s like to stick to one sound. Many like to play to the crowd. Very few plan a course that guides an audience through soundscapes like Dylan C does, as anyone who witnessed any of his regular Splore or Northern Bass festival sets will attest to.

His years of experience on decks ensure he can navigate the channel between Hip Hop & Drum & Bass, and his choice of course will depend on conditions on the day. One thing is for sure, that when it comes to navigating around bars, spits, and big rollers he is an old salt.

As
we board the vessel, and cruise out of the harbour we will be treated to Hip Hop gold from Selector BZ, who has a steady hand through evening sea breeze, which rises to bumps and chop, and his focus is on the dancefloor. You can be assured of a diverse dose of bangers, from the classics to the freshness. To accompany your dish of hip-hop delight, we are stoked to welcome MC LOCVL to the stage to handle rounding the spit. He will be serving you some fresh rhymes, which have been simmering in the slow cooker, and accompanied by his own original organic beats, and lathered in gravy.
Once we hit the channel, Dylan C will take the helm, and navigate the 2hour channel crossing.
There is a vast expanse to span, and as the vessel is equipped with folded horn sub reinforcement to research deep into the bottom end, our captain for the evening is excited to engage deep ultrasound scanning through all spectrums. What he finds in the deep will be shared with us all in real time, transmitted in crystal clear audio you can feel. Not many, if any, could claim to have uncovered more new life forms from the deep, and shared them with the people, through waves, than Dylan C, so we are very blessed to have him not only helm our ship on her maiden voyage, but begin to chart this channel, for us to return regularly.
The course is set for Drum & Bass Harbour, and as we approach it, the helm will be passed to Gull & One40, who have local knowledge navigating the bar. The bar changes constantly, and the channel is sometimes just a groove, but you can rest assured these boys will slot it. Once we hit the smooth liquid, the waves are only found by diving right in. The wake out of this vessel builds to rollers that will wash over you foreshore.
This is an intimate cruise. The vessel has a capacity of 150. It will be fully staffed to maximise this capacity. It will leave on time. There is a licensed bar on board. All drinks are $6.
Tickets will be available at The Barn and from Ticket Fairy on Thursday August 29 at 9am.
