ANNOUNCE: FRIDAY 20th MAY – MISS BABY SOL – LIVE AT THE AMADEUS
The Amadeus in Little Venice has re-opened its doors in the wake of the pandemic with Gus Robertson at the helm, who has previously run iconic West London venues - 20th Century Theatre, Bush Hall, Paradise by way of Kensal Green - as well as helping establish The Playground Theatre in Latimer Road. Gus also curates music festivals (www.thegreatbrainrobbery.co.uk), London nightclubs and other venues (www.gusrobertsonpresents.com) and is a musician himself, having played guitar for the likes of Mick Jones of The Clash and Razorlight. Gus now presents “Live at The Amadeus” – a series of six intimate concerts at West London’s hidden gem - a musical journey through blues, jazz, gypsy, gospel and spiritual rhythms and rhyme featuring some of London’s finest musicians. All of this served up with ground-breaking cocktails from www.blackcow.co.uk and AV from the atmospheric pioneers www.redcatlighting.co.uk and sonic gurus www.rigsandgigs.com
MISS BABY SOL - LIVE AT THE AMADEUS
Miss Baby Sol is a Congolese-born British singer/songwriter. In 2011 Baby Sol released her debut solo recording, aptly named ‘Before I Begin (The Journey)’. ‘Always’ was the 1st single, released as a dub-step remix by Stinkabell, followed by ‘No No’, which was included in the ‘Untold Songs: Vol. 1’ album, to raise awareness and funds, for Amnesty International's ‘Stop Violence Against Women’ campaign.
The 3rd single ‘She Cries’ was released as an EP, also in aid of Amnesty International. In 2012 Baby Sol collaborated with, Artist/Musician and Producer, Swindle to record ‘Some Unholy War’ as a contribution to Q magazine’s Amy Winehouse tribute album ‘Back to Back to Black’. In 2014 she co-wrote and sang ‘Now’s The Time’ released for the ‘No More Page 3’ campaign. The campaign reached its goal and page 3 was altered that year. Her follow-up solo social commentary compositions include 2015's ‘The Future’ featuring Speech Debelle, and ‘On The Dole’, both still to be officially released.
Her co-writer and vocal work spans the music genres of dance, electronic, folk, hip hop, house, indie rock, jazz, rap and soul, and include the releases; ‘Lost In Your Love’ (2012) with UK producer Redlight, ‘Get Down’ (2013) with UK duo Torqux, ‘Crossing’ (2018) with UK artist Lazy Habits, ‘London Girl’ (2018) with Dutch DJ and producer Sander Kleinenberg, ‘Better Days’ with UK musician Shay D (2018), ‘Bouge’ (2019) with Ukrainian DJ and producer Sagan, ‘Basement' (2019) with New York City DJ and producer Dean Mickoski.
In 2020, Miss Baby Sol appeared on The Voice UK as part of their 9th series, which was interrupted when the world was hit by a global pandemic. It has not been an easy time for the music industry or independent artists. Despite all the odds, Miss Baby Sol performed live at the only festival to go ahead in that year, The Also Festival, a socially distanced literary event located at Park Farm, Warwickshire, a unique space landscaped by Capability Brown.
In 2021, with continuing lockdowns caused by the pandemic, she went on to perform at an empty Royal Albert Hall for a live-streamed WOW Festival performance, which was part of the launch event- filmed by Amelie Exton and produced by Shereen Pereira for the ‘Women of the World’ Fest, alongside artists like Ayanna Witter-Johnson and Nubya Garcia.
She then released the single 'Everyday', written for her nephew (when he was 4) with Artist and Producer Black Einstein aka Colin Emmanuel. The music video, directed by Laura Jean Marsh , went on to win her 2 awards Rome and Munich Music Video Awards for Best Director. The summer of 2021 saw Miss Baby Sol playing the role of Sarah in The Big Smoke, starring, written and directed by Nutty P. She was also selected to perform live at ‘Shingai's Summer Reunion’ (curated by Shingai, solo artist and front woman/bassist of British Rock band The Noisettes) at the Southbank Centre London and ended the year with a performance at the iconic Tate Modern.
As the world continues to build momentum, now in 2022, Miss Baby Sol continues to write, with recording and performing her compositions at the forefront of her mind.

Black Cow is the world’s first Pure Milk Vodka. Made in West Dorset using what is left over from grass grazed cows milk after making cheese. Using milk as our only source ingredient is what makes Black Cow vodka so deliciously smooth. Sip neat, or mix in a long drink or cocktail. At Black Cow we know milk is precious, so we don't waste a drop. Black Cow is made using what is left over from milk when making cheese. It starts with separating the milk into curds and whey. The curds make the cheese – including Black Cow Deluxe Cheddar – but, often, the whey ends up going to waste. We take that whey and, using a secret distilling process, turn it into the World's Smoothest Vodka. Black Cow is based on a farm in the heart of West Dorset, a cross-country ramble several miles from Beaminster. We like to keep things simple so we do most things here on the farm. Jason’s 250-strong herd of dairy cows graze on nearby fields and our vodka is distilled and bottled here by hand. We also have a Bar & Kitchen where we host tastings, workshops and other events. www.blackcow.co.uk
