Lo-fi Producer Tansen Releases ‘Rum & Her’ Featuring Atteev

Indian bedroom producer Tansen rolled out their latest chill pop single Rum & Heron September 18, soon after they were recognized for their debut track release ‘Varanasiby multiple leading music publications like Rolling Stones India, Rock Street Journal, and more!

The idea behind ‘Rum & Her’ sparked when Tansen read the book ‘Love Her Wild’ by Atticus. They soon got in touch with Mumbai based singer & producer Atteev Bhansali who lent his vocals on the track, while Aashish Antony played the ukulele and bass. Atteev’s appeasing vocals, carried by tender melodies and a silky drop during the hook, completely encompasses the vibe of the song that talks about a person’s hesitation and fear to disclose their love.

When asked by The Ticket Fairy about the experience of collaborating, they said, “We asked one of our friends if he knows any good vocalist, he suggested us Atteev. We searched him on Instagram and instantly fell in love with his voice. We DM’ed him. He was ready”. They added, “It was the first collaboration experience we had, and it was great! The vocals he did were insane.”

Influenced by producers such as Finneas, Tansen commenced their musical odyssey to create elements of music that they adore, which the producers sum up as “austere ensemble music with a certain sensitivity, one that prioritized grace and texture and which is inspired by nature.” “We are trying to build up the universe for ‘Tansen.’ and starting a new trend, ‘Tansen & Chill’,” they said.

Their influences and inspirations are recurrent in both – ‘Rum & Her’ and ‘Varanasi’ with its dreamy pop soundscape and inclusion of natural ambient noises.

Since the release, ‘Rum & Her’ has been featured in Spotify Editorial Playlist – New Music Friday India, Jio Saavn Editorial Playlist – Homegrown Electronica, Rolling Stone India, The Score Magazine, and The Wild City.
