Adele had a big night at the BRIT Awards 2022, taking home three awards at the London ceremony. Doing away with male and female categories, the Brit Awards 2022 introduces gender-neutral categories and four new-genre awards. The gendered categories were replaced by Artist Of The Year and International Artist Of The Year fields.
The ‘Easy On Me’ singer Adele, Dave, Ed Sheeran and Little Simz led the nominations, with four apiece. Losing in just one category – the fan-voted Best Pop/Rock Act, Adele was the big winner at the 2022 Brit Awards. She took home the awards for the Artist of the Year, Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year.
The event at O2 Arena, London, was hosted by Mo Gilligan for the first time. Fans were able to vote for the four new genre categories – Alternative/Rock Act, Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act, Dance Act and Pop/R’N’B Act – that have been added via TikTok.
