Folamour’s ‘Jazz From Out Of Space’ Music

France holds the secret to the most scrumptious desserts in the world but when it comes to music, Folamour is one of la République’s treasured possessions.

Hailing from Lyon, and a trained musician on the drums, bass, guitar and percussion, Folamour’s House and Disco landscapes range from pop to jazz. His euphoric and laid-back club grooves that are poetic and emotionally-lasting span from original’s, edits, remixes and even bootlegs of classic House and Disco numbers.

Along with his abilities as a producer, Folamour’s DJing flank separates him as one of the most exciting acts to catch in front of the decks. His cosmic blend of deep and underground blends and his jazzy originals have taken him to the biggest venues and headline stages across Europe and the USA.

His delicate slice of futuristic ‘Jazz from outta space’ has led to the formation of FHUO Records (For Heaven Use Only) where he brings together his love for classic house, funk and disco on a single platform. Following the release of his funk-filled and high energy remix for Dames Brown’s ‘What Would You Do’, we thought it would be a good idea to list some of Folamour’s tunes that you need when your mood needs an uplift.

FOLAMOUR – LA PIERRE ET LE SABRE

Starting with one of our top three Folamour tunes called ‘La Pierre et Le Sabre’ which means The Stone and The Saber in French is the definition of modern-day Float House music. Released over five years ago, Folamour along with names like Mall Grab and Harrison BDP led the charge for making jazz-infused house music with a touch of Leftfield, and the result was this stunner.

FOLAMOUR – MAD KING IN MY OWN KINGDOM

If there is an artist who knows the art of bridging two eras of electronic music, it is Folamour. The vocal sample comes from Dennis Rodman’s famous Basketball Hall of Fame speech, but the tune is right on the money with its moody strings and smoky drums.

FOLAMOUR – IVOIRE

Originally sung by Swedish artist, Kio Amachree, Folamour took the vocal samples from the track to form the B-Side of his 2017 album ‘Umami’ in ways that work both in the club and your living room with a gorgeous concoction of disco swing and future jazz. Afro-tinged vocals with his trademark style of drums were used to create the perfect party-starter.

FOLAMOUR – THE POWER AND THE BLESSING OF UNITY

Folamour’s jazzy story-telling abilities are evident in the titles he chooses for his tracks. Once again, watery drums, gloomy synths but this time with defiance of evocative trumpets; this track has the ability to be on loop for weeks!

FOLAMOUR – YA JUST NEED 2 BELIEVE IN YASELF

Press play and just take a few moments to imagine this track being played at a summer festival at sunset. There will be few occasions that will top the moment. The grooves on the track are just unbelievable and the use of bongos makes the tune’s journey even sweeter. Goes straight up in our ‘right in the feels’ playlist.

FOLAMOUR – WHEN U CAME INTO MY LIFE

When you listen to this track, you wouldn’t be surprised if Folamour takes the title of the ‘King of Disco’ in a few years’ time. Youtube is a goldmine for audience comments and one of them rightly says ‘Folamour has the groove every life on this planet needs.’ His unparalleled ability to pick samples from the deepest depths of music and turn them into dance numbers is the magic we all need as we come away from two of the darkest years in human history.

FOLAMOUR – THESE ARE JUST PLACES TO ME NOW

Imagine you wake up on a breezy Sunday morning. Make your coffee, put your Spotify or Youtube on shuffle and this tune comes up. We’ll let you describe the feeling in the comments. To sum it up, Folamour makes music that puts a wide smile on peoples’ faces. Absolute genius.
