The T?maki Makaurau-based alternative/punk rock group embark on this multi-city tour after releasing their first single, ‘Feeling Of The Body,’ in April 2022 and unleashing their self-titled debut album in April this year. Ringlets are made up of guitarist László Reynolds, bassist Arabella Poulsen, drummer Arlo Grey, and vocalist Leith Towers.

Ringlets will make their first stop in Wellington on July 26. They will head to Space Academy in Christchurch on July 27, followed by their halt at Dive in Dunedin on July 28. The group will conclude the tour on their home soil at Whammy Bar in Auckland on August 4, 2023. Attendees can look forward to listening to tracks from the new album along with servings of new material.
We spoke with Ringlet’s guitarist László Reynolds about the band’s upcoming debut tour in New Zealand. According to Reynolds, the tour is significant since it is the first time three of the four band members will be on the road.

Convening would-be attendees, the guitarist shared with us, “Attendees can expect to enjoy an array of guitar “skronks” and if you’re lucky, the special Ringlets patent-protected “dwangle” which is a highly sour, fermented mixture of jangle, doom, and twang – some say it reads to the ear as tamarind & kumquat sherbert does the tongue.”
László adds, “Also on offer are tastefully overdriven bass frequencies, well-coordinated outfit choices, grooves which are at once infectious, melancholic, and rude, and of course Leith’s mercurial, haunted prose slicing greenly through the mix and adorning the mind’s eye with hypnotic visages of dread, lust, hope, death, money, and fur.”
Joining the Ringlets tour at select venues are alternative rock crew Dale Kerrigan, alternative rock/pop group Senica, musician Oscar Dowling, and duo Elliot & Vincent.
