Ditty Releases New Single, ‘Hold Me,’ From Her Upcoming EP ‘Skin’

Four years after the release of her debut album ‘Poetry Ceylon,’ Indian musician Ditty reveals her scars on a new single, ‘Hold Me.’
Singer-songwriter and urban ecologist Aditi Veena, who goes by Ditty, marks exciting times and the advent of things anew with her latest musical offering, ‘Hold Me.’ The single unfurls with subtle acoustic guitar strumming and gently journeys to a body-swaying ballad led by Ditty’s soothing vocal presence, rhythmic bass action, and nuanced key arrangments. Influenced and inspired by the here and now, ‘Hold Me’ grips you with its delicate sonic presentation, melancholic vibe, and engrossing lyrics.
Ditty also premiered a music video for ‘Hold Me,’ which serves as the foundation for Ditty’s upcoming EP Skin, slated to be released in early 2024 via German record label Clouds Hill Records.
Talking about her latest single, Ditty notes, “My songs are places I can go to where I can reveal myself entirely. First, I pour myself into the songs and then let the songs speak to the world. It was like this with ‘Hold me’. I wrote it when my love was still yearning. Can we be honest to ourselves and our feelings, even if they ask us to trust fully and leave everything behind?”
Diving into ‘Hold Me’ and the upcoming EP, the singer-songwriter adds, “I went through a huge transformation during the pandemic – a major illness, separation, losing loved ones, and a move to Berlin. I had to learn ways to come home to myself. Skin takes a lot from those experiences and speaks about connecting to the body of the earth and myself.”
Ditty embarked on a multi-city Songs For Forests tour of India in October 2022, operating in tandem with a host of sustainable, eco-friendly companies to produce her second carbon-neutral India tour.
