Nearly a decade after rolling out the classic number ‘Little Did You Know’ with Alex & Sierra, songwriting and production wizard Toby Gad enlists Keke Palmer and Aloe Blacc for a new five-track remix package.
In 2014, the delicate and yearnful rendition of The X Factor champions Alex & Sierra’s ‘Little Did You Know’ was the song on everyone’s lips. The chart-topping single now undergoes a newfangled remix from its Grammy-Award-winning songwriter and producer, Toby Gad. He brings in Grammy-nominated artist Aloe Blacc and Emmy-winning actress and singer Keke Palmer for this project, which features an Afrobeat mix, a Chicago mix, an Ibiza mix, and more.
‘Little Did You Know’ (The Remixes) EP begins with a pulsating Afrobeats mix, courtesy of German DJ duo LIMONADE. The rhythmic cadence of the opener melts into the Milkway Mix that envelops listeners in the smooth vocals by Keke and Aloe, against a celestial backdrop of distinct house piano work and synths. ‘Chicago Mix’ is a nod to Keke’s early life in the city with jazz and soul-forward fusion, as the EP concludes with the ebullient Ibiza mix. Laced with the jaunty soundscapes for an ultimate raver starter, splashes of trance and techno in the ‘Ibiza Mix’ round out the project in a nostalgic realm.
Known popularly for his work with Beyoncé, John Legend, Madonna, Selena Gomez, Alicia Keys, The Script, One Direction, and a plethora more, Toby Gad brought forth a powerful team for the ‘Little Did You Know’ (The Remixes) EP. Keke Palmer took the internet by storm with her recent performance in the 2022 movie ‘Nope,’ and followed it up with her first album in 16 years, titled ‘Big Boss’, in 2023. In addition to her EPs, mixtapes and albums, Keke also made a mark with her significant contribution to movie soundtracks. American singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc is renowned for hits like ‘The Man,’ and ‘Wake Me Up’ with Avicci, ‘I Need a Dollar,’ and Tiësto’s ‘Carry You Home.’ In his decades-long music career, Blacc has dabbled with his eclectic hip-hop, soul, R&B, and contemporary pop productions.
