Alternate joins forces with Carbon Music to showcase some of the label’s incredible talents. Carbon Music is a record label run by DnB DJ Jubei. Its latest release is Submotive’s new four-track EP ‘Clock In Clout Out’.
Jubei has frequently played for big DnB names like Metalheadz, fabric, and Renegade Hardware. Earlier this year, he rolled out a two-track EP ‘Send Out/ Tradition’. His highly acclaimed album ‘To Have & Have Not’ featuring Flowdan, dBridge, SP:MC, and Jerome Thomas, among others, was released about nine years ago.
This weekend, Carbon Music Bristol will see performances from a killer lineup that includes Breakage, Jubei, Djinn, and more, with special guest DnB/Jungle producer Randall from London. Announcing the event on Instagram in July, Carbon Music wrote: “Bristol crew! We’re heading back this Autumn @losthorizonhq @alternate_uk with some big hitters ??”
Drum and bass DJ Breakage, who is set to play at Lost Horizon on Saturday, was introduced to dance music at a very young age. He has since then made a great name for himself in the realm with multiple singles and two full-length albums.

James Boyle AKA Breakage has even made it to Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record in the World Today’ slot. He appeared on it five times consecutively. He has also remixed for the likes of Florence and the Machine and world-renowned DJ David Guetta. Although his last full-length album ‘When the Night Comes’ came in 2015, he dropped a four-track EP ‘At the Controls, Vol. 2’ last year.
Also on the bill are the Manchester DnB/jungle/dubstep DJ and producer Djinn, who has played live for an audience across Europe and the Middle East; Arcatype, whose latest release on Carbon Music is their three-track ‘Return’ EP; Indigo; Stewart Procter AKA SP:MC, a DnB MC and music producer, who was crowned the ‘Best MC’ at the D&BArena Awards in 2011; and Bristol-based Medic MC, a resident at Alternate, who played at the Glastonbury 2022 Shangri-La We The People’s Alternate DnB takeover, and has had releases on Fokuz, Vandal, and Mac 2.
