The new festival in Uzbekistan unveils line-up for its debut edition with Adani Twins, Bjarki, Ivan Dorn, and more.
Uzbekistan is set to host a brand new festival called Sublimation later this month. Taking place from September 27 – 29, 2024, at the Culture Palace of Aircraft Builders, the massive gathering will welcome some of the finest talents in the music business to exhibit their skills before revelers. Icelandic producer Bjarki, Adana Twins, and Ivan Dorn (DJ set), Sabina Mustaeva, Konsta, and more grace the bill for the debut edition of Sublimation Festival.
Lisbon-based ZenGxrl, Refugee Worldwide co-founder No Plastic, Berlin-based DK/producer Matas Petrikas (Live set), electrofocus, DJ/producer, and co-founder of FRUMOS parties – Mari Breslavets, Alibek Kabdurakhmanov x Symphony Orchestra Amalia are seen on the roster. The festival not only sets the stage for an amazing line-up of international artists but also presents to you some of Uzbekistan’s mind-boggling talents.
Kynant Records head honcho and Refugee Worldwide co-founder Richard Akingbehin, Hayriniso, Almaty-based DJ Nazira will head to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, for the festival. Sublimation will also open its doors to Josef Tumari – emerging talent from Uzbekistan, Tashkent-based DJ/producer Eenkay, German duo Basic Chanel, DJ/promoter and Grammy Tashkent music director Kadamique, DJ/producer duo from Kokand – Loud373, and QARAQOOM.
“The organizers combine contemporary electronic music with Uzbek traditions to create a unique cultural platform,” wrote Sublimation on Instagram. “Supported by the British Council and the Tashkent City Hokimiyat, the festival aims to promote independent artists and creative industries in Uzbekistan.”
September 27 will see a beginner workshop with Boudica founder and Gegen Berlin resident DJ Samantha Togin. In addition to the mind-blowing music performances and stunning art installations, festival goers can also attend masterclasses from international stars as well as conferences. Sublimation will also have Boiler Room and broadcasts by Refugee Worldwide.
