Nagaland-based musician Temsu Clover forays into new aural territory with her latest single.
Weaving a sonic tapestry that’s unlike her previous endeavors, ‘Parasite’ sees Temsu Clover join forces with music producer Vitz Zhimo to build an electro-pop offering. The latest track was released on the anniversary of her album ‘Hello Love,’ which featured songs like ‘Sally Forth,’ ‘Sleep with the rain,’ ‘Lost in my own town,’ and more.
‘Parasite’ is the first of her many experimental tracks scheduled to be rolled out in 2024 in collaboration with Vitz. Addressing “the struggle to overcome destructive forces that can shatter one’s spirit,” the anthemic single puts its message across in a nuanced manner. Temsu strays away from her usual indie pop and R&B sounds in ‘Parasite’ and substitutes them with syncopated electronic beats and lush soundscapes. The optimistic tone of the instrumentation, combined with Temsu’s signature soulful vocals, highlights the vanquishing of those who brings us down.
“‘Parasite’ aims to inspire listeners to confront and dispel the negative influences within themselves and their surroundings,” she added. This experimental sound will carry through in some of Temsu’s forthcoming releases as she gears up for her big comeback in 2024.
