New Music Releases From LadyFingers, Hashbass, Cryosis and More!

In this list, we dive into a mix of indie, metalcore, funk-pop, and alt-pop releases from April 2026.

drumtard – ‘current’

Chennai-based indie act, drummer, and producer drumtard pins “the feeling of solitude and being comfortable in it, while still having to endure the pain it brings,” on a collaborative new single titled ‘current.’

Contributions come from reliable bassist Sai Sanjit, singer Srie, and shredder Saketh, along with shimmering vocals in Japanese from Tokyo singer-songwriter somei. Rooted in metalcore, drumtard’s imaginative and intense synth play forms the stable cornerstone on which rests somei’s hauntingly enchanting voice, clanging bass tugs, blistering drums, and a searing hot guitar solo.

drumtard further conveyed to us via email, “The song’s underlying message is that it is indeed painful to be in solitude (alone), but there is also comfort in that because there is no one to hurt you on the flip-side.”

LadyFingers, Sagar Jolly – ‘Instant Regret’

Zone out to incredible upbeat grooves as singer-songwriter LadyFingers caresses listeners with her latest drop, ‘Instant Regret.’ With relatable lyrics, groovy bass patterns, a bluesy tinge, and funk-laden hooks, LadyFingers weaves a solid pop-funk bop.

It is penned as a follow-up to the multi-talented performer’s debut single ‘Anxietea’ (released in 2021) and snags guitarist-composer Sagar Jolly as a collaborator.

Via a press note, LadyFingers called the release an “anthem for every awkward moment you can’t take back” and conveyed that the story was “written about that very specific kind of shame that shows up right after you overshare, wave at someone who wasn’t waving, or completely misread the room.”

An earlier acoustic rendition of ‘Instant Regret,’ with LadyFingers on vocals and Sagar Jolly strumming his guitar from 2022, can be viewed on LadyFingers’ YouTube channel.

Hashbass, Sledge – ‘Mumbhai’

Bassist-producer and composer Hashbass marked five years since his move to Mumbai with a tribute to the city through his newest collaborative effort, ‘Mumbhai.’

In tandem with hard-spitting rapper Sledge, the duo carves out a weighty production, inspired by a 1998 track of the same name from Dhruv Ghanekar, Ashutosh Phatak, and Javed Jaffrey. As heard on the original’s chaotic street-style offering, Hashbass and Sledge capture the city through an everyday lens and keep its spirit and rhythm tuned to a modern sound.

Hashbass wrote on social media, “I came to Mumbai with two bags, a bass, and no roadmap. No network. No shortcuts. Just belief and a sound I didn’t fully understand yet. Over time, through the chaos, the rejections, the small wins and big moments – that sound became Hashbass.”

Its music video, directed by Aditi Bobby, creatively places footage of Hashbass’ various key moments over the five years on windows, hoardings, billboards, and other spaces around Mumbai. It portrays how his hustle and grind have pushed his career forward and how he, too, has grown into a key part of Mumbai’s music scene.

Samiha – ‘Yours For The Taking’

Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist Samiha explores “the absolute hopelessness of vulnerability when faced with intense desire” on her fifth single, ‘Yours For The Taking.’ On this scrumptious offering, Samiha pairs a strummy acoustic guitar rhythm with her whispery, expressive vocals to frame a reflective indie singer-songwriter piece. The music agreeably swells with soothing vocal harmonies and delicate key arrangements, making for a warm and intimate listen.

Harasis Wadhwa and Nikhil Rajkumar – ‘Prague’

Progressive metal devotees Harasis Wadhwa and Nikhil Rajkumar unshackled ‘Prague,’ a thumping prog-metal jam that blazes on all fronts.

Laced with unhinged guitar riffs and percussion that booms, the nearly three-minute cut rages with purpose while ladling a spooky, cinematic feel. Bells chime and haunting, orchestral string-like sounds thread through the roaring guitars and stomping drums as the pair go all out on this one.

As per the duo, “The track aims to show how technical and emotional elements can come together to make something truly dynamic.”

Vedang Gaikwad X POPCORN Inc. – ‘Naina Laage’

POPCORN Inc. (Sahil Mishra and Vinayak Chopra) piped out their debut single, ‘Naina Laage,’ an easy-on-the-ear production smelted with snazzy beats, flashy synths, bright tones, and an optimistic feel. Yanked in on this project is versatile singer-songwriter Vedang Gaikwad, who spoons his creamy vocals into the mix.

Also threaded in are strummy guitars courtesy of Vidhan Dhadiwal, which shine through the groovy indie-pop theme. The Hindi-worded song certainly stakes its claim as a song that is suited for a long drive or an offering arranged to lift one’s mood.

According to POPCORN Inc., “‘Naina Laage’ is a lively expression of the joy and energy of young love.”

Cryosis – ‘Adonis’

Following a brief hiatus, indie duo Cryosis (Aakanksha Patel and Siddhant Mishra) marked their return with a new release, ‘Adonis,’ inspired by the mythological Greek figure of the same name, regarded for exceptional beauty.

It paves the way for their impending 10-track album and unfolds with a dark, atmospheric soundscape packed with cracks of thunder, heavy rain, and distant howls in the music video. Sinister key patterns and brooding bass plucks run through ‘Adonis’ as an ominous, synth-heavy theme develops, sculpting a wistful and gloomy alternative-pop feel. Aakanksha delivers a somber vocal performance steeped in melancholia and grit while Siddhant’s production prowess takes on a heavier rhythm.

Aakanksha expressed via a press note, “There’s a story we want to tell, and ‘Adonis’ is definitely bursting at the page-ends with as many easter eggs and as much symbolism as we could fit.” Siddhant mentioned, “Good songs happen when everything falls into place. Thankfully, Aakanksha and I complement each other naturally, so the process feels seamless. We trust each other’s instincts, and that shows in the music.”

Amitabh Sen – ‘Bawarey’

Delhi-born and Bengaluru-based indie artist Amitabh Sen flourishes in the indie pop and pop rock space while also dabbling in folk and fusion textures. His latest single, ‘Bawarey,’ sees him deliver a strong soft-rock, indie pop presentation stamped with flowing acoustic guitars, crisp drumming, Amitabh’s powerful voice, and a spicy electric guitar riff.

The Hindi-worded single has been in Amitabh’s locker for over a decade, with its emotive vibe felt by live audiences across his performances through the years. It reflects on chasing satisfaction through wealth, relationships, and material desires, while pointing toward the need to look within.

According to Amitabh, “’Bawarey’ carries a sense of quiet reflection. It does not try to offer answers as much as it invites the listener to pause and question their own journey.”
