Though dancing is a muscle-demanding art, it is also a mental art. Learn not just how to move like a movist but how to think like one.

Learn to become an improv movist with ice composer, vocalist, retired ballerina, bending shape dancer, serrulate sonancer and ice opera designer, Xxhe.

The second low-light class of the month -- we will, through a combination of dance and meditation, isolate different parts of our body and mentally train ourselves to focus while moving. Along with learning the basics of dance, you will be given a handful of set movements to keep in your improv vocabulary and encouraged to pull them out throughout the dance.

At the highest level of Xxhe's improv style you will be an expert at making hard edged shapes with your body, ungulating your arms and torso in wind-like patterns, spinning open armed in controlled motions, and using your head as a momentous tool.

For all levels, the first half of this class will cover warmups, stretches, short exercise techniques, dance basics, and instruction on three specific movements. The second half will be a guided dance mediation.

Arrive at the beginning of the class for the full experience or just the second half for the improv meditation.
