Big Beef: A Most Famous Opening is a portrait of the performance art world as it stands (or sits) right now. Artists from New York’s avante garden bring you a modern laugh like you have never felt or seen before. Gallery beforehand with snacks provided if you enjoy duplicitous themes. Gabriel Gara began Big Beef under the previous title, Bunt Cake in 2017. The project started as a zine promoting women, Trans and non-binary comedians in the NYC comedy scene. This monthly zine grew to an entire community of comedians all with the collective goal of bringing more diversity to the male dominated comedy world. The directive of this ongoing project was never lost but the message shifted after Gara came out as a Trans man in 2022.
