Events, Tickets and Current Status

A monthly second-hand record fair briefly used The Pickle Factory, neighbouring Canvas and the cocktail bar, combining record sellers, food, drinks and daytime DJ sets. The original plan was to end the club’s first incarnation in August 2024, but events continued through the autumn and December. The definitive closing party was the ten-hour, two-room Get Pickled event on New Year’s Day 2025. It used the original room, Canvas and the connecting cocktail bar, with ten unannounced DJs selected from artists associated with the club’s nine-year history. Sound, Lighting and Production

Sound was the venue’s defining technical feature. Its dual d&b audiotechnik installation supported both end-on concerts and immersive club nights. The concert system used V7P loudspeakers over V-GSUBs with E8 centre fills. The immersive configuration combined inward-facing Y10P and V10P units, additional V10P rear fills and Bi6-SUB low-frequency reinforcement, powered by 30D installation amplifiers. M4 stage monitors were also specified.

The room was acoustically isolated to protect neighbouring properties. During commissioning, tests found that mids and highs were no longer discernible within about ten metres outside and that tested low frequencies became undetectable farther away. The regular operating target was around 96–97 dBA, below the higher level used during testing. The uncompleted expansion plans went considerably further. Getting There and Parking

The original entrance was at 13–14 The Oval, London E2 9DU, off Hackney Road in Bethnal Green.
