Top 2023 Music Festivals to Attend in Mexico

From marvelous archaeological and historic sites and museums to delightful local delicacies, Mexico offers a variety of activities for its visitors. In addition to scuba diving, snorkeling, and wandering the streets of Mexico, you can also catch some of the most popular music festivals in the country in the next couple of weeks or months. Whether you plan to attend music festivals during the vacation or want to see your favorite artist perform live before you, below is a list of upcoming music festivals in Mexico, along with important details about their dates, timings, and rosters!

EDC Mexico

One of the biggest electronic dance music festivals – Electric Daisy Carnival, is coming to Mexico next month! Get ready for three nights of mind-blowing music from some of the most popular dance music stars on the planet. Australian electronic dance music producer/DJ Alison Wonderland, Marshmello, English dubstep music producer/DJ Zomboy, Martin Garrix, Gorgon City, Tiësto, and more will grace the EDC Mexico stage this year.

This festival will be held on February 24, 25, and 26. Swedish DJ/producer Eric Prydz, Illenium, electronic music trio Above & Beyond, Tom & Collins, and Galantis are also on the bill. Enjoy music from more than a hundred artists across six stages at this grand event, and get ready for one of the most memorable experiences of your life!

LOCUS Tulum 2023

“Mexico’s first-ever DnB festival!” LOCUS returns to Tulum with the BIGGEST line-up in South and North America ever, for four days of a supreme drum & bass experience in paradise from March 2 – 5, 2023. DnB heavyweights Goldie, Teebee, London Elektricity, and Pola & Bryson will take the LOCUS Tulum stage this year.

British drum & bass DJ/producers Fabio & Grooverider, Etherwood, Stamina MC, Lenzman, and Workforce were some DnB talents announced as part of the Phase Two line-up. Jazz & Rhythms Wknd Festival

The Jazz & Rhythms Wknd Festival is set to bring some of the most amazing artists to one location on February 11 and 12 this year. Novalima, Argentinian singer Sol Pereyra, Cancun-based producer The Funk District, Jungle Fire, and Nickodemus will be performing at this festival at Parque Natural El Encuentro in San Cristóbal De Las Casas, Mexico.

Jazz musician Adrien Brandeis, F-Mack, Patty & Friends, and DJ Raw + Nico Jean are also on the line-up.

2023 Carnaval de Bahidorá

Carnaval de Bahidorá is an annual three-day festival in February where you can discover international electronic acts as well as some mind-blowing Latin American artists. Enjoy non-stop music across multiple stages at this event. For those who are tired of dancing their hearts out, you may relax, meditate and do yoga, or you could go sunbathing, swimming, or kayaking, all within festival grounds!

The festival tapped Desiree, Australian jazz/funk band Hiatus Kaiyote, Colombian-Canadian singer-songwriter and musician Lido Pimienta, Palestinian electronic music producer/DJ Sama’ Abdulhadi, and Japanese electronic music composer Soichi Terada, among others, to perform at the 2023 edition. Carnival de Bahidorá is scheduled to take place on February 17, 18, and 19.

Tecate Pal Norte 2023 

One of the most well-known festivals in Latin America – Tecate Pal Norte, is coming to Mexico on March 31, April 1, and 2. A bunch of rising stars, the finest local talents, and international artists will head to Mexico to take the Tecate Pal Norte stage this year. The line-up for this three-day event was unveiled in November last year.

Billie Eilish, Blink-182 and rock band The Killers will headline Tecate Pal Norte in 2023. The hottest electronic music acts, including Honey Dijon, Robin Schulz, Fred Again.., Steve Aoki, Loco Dice and AMÉMÉ, are also featured on the bill this year. Los Angeles-based alternative rock band Wallows, Modest House, 5 Seconds of Summer, The 1975, Pierce The Veil, and Willow are some of the other artists slated to perform at the event.

Paradise Blue Festival

Cancún! Get ready for three days of amazing electronic dance music at Paradise Blue, a vacation destination event from April 28 – 30, 2023. Barely Alive, Dutch electronic music producer Dion Timmer, English dubstep and DnB producer/DJ FuntCase, Kliptic, Sippy, and Francis Derelle are all set to take the Paradise Blue Festival stage this year.

Additionally, the decks will see Zingara, Oddprophet, Nazaar, America DJ Sullivan King, and Rusko, a British DJ/producer, among a bunch of other exciting names.

Festival Vaivén

Lots of dancing, beautiful vibes, outstanding music, and many more thrilling experiences await you at – Festival Vaivén on April 29, 2023. Australian indie dance trio RÜFÜS DU SOL are the first names on the line-up for this event. French duo Polo & Pan, German producer/DJ/composer Ben Böhmer, ‘Talking Body’ singer Tove Lo, and Colyn are also on the bill.

Poolside, Channel Tres, JESSE BAEZ, indie rock band Technicolor Fabrics, and South African singer St. Lucia will also head to Jardines de México to perform at Festival Vaivén this year.

The World Is A Vampire

Witness a brand new festival coming to Mexico at the Poro Sol – a sports and entertainment venue with a capacity to hold 65,000 people, on March 4, 2023. The Smashing Pumpkins are set to headline the inaugural edition of The World Is A Vampire. Rock band Interpol, Turnstile, English rock band Peter Hook and the Light are also on the line-up.

Experimental metal band Deafheaven, Ekkstacy, In the Valley Below, and Mexican rock band The Warning are also slated to perform at the first edition of The World Is A Vampire in Mexico. 

HootieFest

HootieFest: The Big Splash is coming to Riviera Cancun for four nights on the beach in México from April 26 – 29, 2023. Attend daytime pool parties, enjoy delicious food and beverages, catch yoga sessions, and make use of a 27-hole golf course at the venue, among other exciting activities.

Rock band Hootie & The Blowfish, Goo Goo Dolls, and Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies are set to play at HootieFest 2023, along with Cowboy Mouth, Gin Blossoms, and American singer-songwriter Edwin McCain.

Sundream Baja

RÜFÜS DU SOL, Italian music producer/DJ duo Tale Of Us, German EDM producer/singer-songwriter Monolink, and Michael Bibi are gearing up to take the Sundream Baja stage this May. This event has been curated by RÜFÜS DU SOL and is set to take place from May 4 – 7, 2023.

The four-day event has been described as “a weekend of immersive experiences celebrating Music, Art & Culture.” DJ Tennis, the founder of the Life and Death record label, will do a B2B set with Carlita as ASTRA CLUB at Sundream Baja. House music DJ Desiree, Swiss musician/DJ Jimi Jules, Australian music producer/DJ Luke Alessi, and Weval will also feature their music at Sundream Baja in 2023.
