A pacesetter in liquid DnB, Sam Reed, best known as Tokyo Prose, engulfs the dance floor with his soulful piano-influenced liquid DnB going b2b with Benn Rolls-Sheppard aka Chiccoreli. Tokyo Prose gets on stage on the back of his last EP ‘Twelve Tones,’ which boasted five stunning tracks and featured electronic music producers FD (Freddie Dixon), Steo, and Satl.

Speaking to us ahead of his debut at The Mothership, Tokyo Prose showed some love to Chiccoreli, saying, “I’m super excited to go back to back with my old mate Chiccoreli. He’s a stalwart of the NZ dnb scene and has carried the torch for soulful dnb in Auckland with his radio shows, DJ sets, and as a promoter with his Liquid Lowdown gigs. This one will be particularly special with a 360 set, and my first appearance at Mothership.”
Tokyo Prose also gave us an insight into his forthcoming set at The Liquid Showdown 360°, he states, “Needless to say, there will be plenty of fresh music and we’ll be pushing each other to raise the vibes, and creating a few special moments along the way. This one is not to be missed!”

Presented as a 360° showcase with the deck set in the middle of the dance floor, attendees will party to b2b sets featuring DJs Coco & Fox Glove and Rhyas & Skelta. Coco, Fox Glove, and Chiccoreli were also on the card together when UK drum & bass heavyweights Pola & Bryson, Monrroe, and Duskee stormed Auckland in late 2022.
Promoting the liquid DnB gig, Coco shared a post on Instagram saying, “Ayyyyyy this one! ? I can’t begin to explain the excitement I have with playing alongside my very good friend @foxglovenz ?? Masssssive thanks to the @liquidlowdown fam and @themothershipnz for having me, and what a night this will be on support for @tokyo_prose and @chiccoreli with @rhyas_nz, @skeltanz, @takarat_.”
