PLF Presents "The FINAL Warehouse Afters" October First Friday

PLF brings you another late-night gathering of fire performances, live art making, VJing, DJing, dancing, and YOU! So if ya want to be one of those cats that say " I went to one of those PLF First Friday warehouse after parties in 2022!" .... well here is your last chance!

This one is gonna be EXTRA for many reasons, so let’s all put some extra love and extra effort to rise to this special occasion celebrating an extra special night! Check that important info at the bottom to know what is expected with your participation.

EXTRA:
*It’s October First Friday, where for 17+ years the fire community has come together to honor and celebrate the fire arts to keep the tradition alive.
*This is the final Warehouse Afters of the year (don’t worry, we’ll be announcing the details of our newly annual OCTOBERWEEN Halloween Party and our long-running Richmond tradition, DECEMBERWEEN NYE event very soon)!
This is the official afterparty for both the 6th Anniversary of Manchester Manifest: First Friday Southside AND the 16th Annual Carnival of 5 Fires at Gallery5: First Friday in the Arts District/Historic Jackson Ward! Don’t hesitate to wear your funkiest, freakiest, most sparkly or spooky attire!
*October FF is the entrance to our favorite spooky seasonal festivities…duh!

WHERE: CreateSpace: Wickam St. off of Chamberlayne Ave., Northside, Richmond, VA

WHEN: We kick it off at 11pm, shortly before @manchestermanifest finishes off and right after the Carnival of 5 Fires First Friday at @gallery5arts (this event is 1 mile away from G5)!

WHY: We strive to facilitate inclusive events and safer spaces for all walks of life to celebrate community, creativity, and collaboration. It’s why we exist!

HOW: Teamwork makes the dream work. It takes a lot to put these together, so thank you for being here.

PLF Fire Team is currently fundraising to go towards the yearly renewal of our fire Insurance, so we can keep doing what we do legally and safely!

IMPORTANT INFO TO KNOW BEFORE ATTENDING:
-If you feel ill at all/have any symptoms, please stay at home. COVID-19 is still here.
-We are capping attendance at 250 people.
-Mandatory door entrance “donation” $10 till 3am, then $10 suggested donation.
-This event is 21+ and BYOB! No valid ID, No entrance.
- Z E R O tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, or ANY form of discrimination. No hate speech or hate group attire allowed (patches, t-shirts, hats, etc.)
- Consent is the law of the land. Every PLF event has a zero tolerance policy for consent violations of any kind.
- No illegal substances of any kind.

 Fire Performers! 
- Experienced performers are invited to join us in the fire circle, which will be open from 11pm-3am.
- Mandatory safety meetings at 11pm and 12 midnight. NO EXCEPTIONS. Only fire spinners are allowed near our fuel dump.
- ALL performers MUST check in at a fire safety meeting, where we ask that you sign our fire circle waiver and get a wristband.
- If you’re on time for the meeting, you don’t have to pay at the door. Let the door know by showing them a fire prop.
- The fire circle will be clearly marked with red rope light.
- Please use your best fire circle etiquette!! - Make sure you have a safety, make sure you close the lids in the fuel dump, and please safety for the next spinner after you!
- SAFETY FIRST! We practice safety by being mindful of the fuel dump when you are nearby, reminding event-goers if they are getting too close, and not lighting up while intoxicated. NO DRINKING AND FIRE.
- Thank you for sharing your fire art with us and helping keep the fire arts ignited.

*What is Afters?
