About Profundo Day Club
Profundo Day Club is a rooftop pool party lounge atop the Ravel Hotel at 8-08 Queens Plaza South in Long Island City (Queens) www.ticketfairy.com . It opened in summer 2017 as part of Ravel’s new tower and quickly became a hot summer destination. The centerpiece is a roughly 50×50 ft swimming pool (only about 4 ft deep) surrounded by Bali-style daybeds, cabanas and lounge chairs www.ticketfairy.com . From the deck you get sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and the Queensboro (59th Street) Bridge www.ticketfairy.com . Local press praises Profundo’s “Miami/European day-club vibe” and calls it exactly what LIC/Astoria residents need to beat the summer heat www.ticketfairy.com www.ticketfairy.com . In short, Profundo is a high-energy outdoor day-life venue known for poolside cocktails, tropical styling (even floating mirrored globes), and a festive party atmosphere reminiscent of a beach resort in the heart of Queens www.ticketfairy.com .
Events and Programming
Profundo operates mainly in warm weather (late May through early fall), hosting pool parties and DJ events almost daily or on weekends www.ticketfairy.com www.ticketfairy.com . Music is focused on dance genres – house, deep house, techno, EDM and top-40/hip-hop – creating a carefree daytime club experience www.ticketfairy.com www.ticketfairy.com . The venue routinely brands themed sessions (e.g. “Sunday Funday” brunches or the weekly “Monday is My Sunday” party) and stages big parties on holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, etc.) www.ticketfairy.com www.ticketfairy.com . Past lineups have featured international DJs and house music stars such as Dennis Ferrer, Mark Knight, Robbie Rivera and others www.ticketfairy.com . (For example, actor-DJ Sasha Grey headlined a techno/house day party under the “Monday is My Sunday” series .) Events typically run from midday through early evening, with afternoon “Brunch Pool Party” hours and an optional “Sunset Swim” session into the early nighttime. General admission tickets usually include access for the whole booked slot.
Because Profundo is popular, tickets often sell out. Advance purchase is strongly recommended for weekend pool parties or big headliners. Door sales (walk-up passes) are possible on very slow days, but most sessions fill early. Event lineups and ticket links are normally posted on weeks or months in advance on official channels (see Tickets section).
Tickets and Booking
Profundo Day Club does not sell tickets at an on-site box office. All access is prepaid and reserved online. A full-day pass (roughly noon–9 pm) is around $50 per person www.ticketfairy.com . There is also a half-day option (e.g. afternoon or sunset only) for about half that price www.ticketfairy.com . Each day-pass includes one towel and one branded pool bag per guest www.ticketfairy.com . Instead of free seating, guests are encouraged to reserve a private daybed or cabana for groups. For example, a two-person “lawn daybed” reservation (with $200 food/drink credit) and a larger four-person “poolside daybed” (with $400 credit) can be booked in advance www.ticketfairy.com . Larger group packages (up to 8 people) with higher minimum spends ($300–$600 plus drink minimums) are also offered by reservation . Bottle service and premium cabanas (often with $1000+ minimum spend) can be arranged through the hotel on special request.
Because all passes and reservations are pre-paid, they are non-refundable. In practice, Profundo will usually issue a credit if an event is canceled for weather or other unforeseen causes www.ticketfairy.com . To ensure entry, plan to buy tickets days or weeks in advance, especially for popular DJs or weekend dates. (Aftermarket resale of tickets is not permitted.)
Tickets for Profundo events are typically purchased via Profundo’s official website or affiliated event platforms. No cash box will be available at the door. If you see an official promo, it may link to a ticket vendor or to the hotel’s reservation team. Sales open a week or two before an event, and early birds sometimes get discounted rates.
Seating and Layout
Profundo’s layout is an open-air, multi-tiered rooftop deck built over several connected terraces. The 50′×50′ pool is at the center, with a wooden deck around it www.ticketfairy.com www.ticketfairy.com . Unreserved lounge chairs and chaise lounges line the pool’s edge on a first-come basis. Most seating for general admission is essentially standing room or these scattered poolside chairs www.ticketfairy.com . Along one side of the pool is a raised lawn area with VIP daybeds and cabanas. These private beds (reserved only in advance) come in two sizes: a smaller “lawn daybed” for 2 people, and a larger “poolside daybed” for about 4–5 people, each stocked with a food/drink credit www.ticketfairy.com . The DJ booth, sound system and lighting are positioned in one corner by the pool, so the music covers the entire deck www.ticketfairy.com . Because there are no fixed rows, early arrivals or those with daybed reservations tend to snag the best spots near the pool or under shade umbrellas.
Generally, if you are in standard (general) admission, the poolside chairs or bar stools near the DJ provide good views. The back lawn area offers a more relaxed, open view of the skyline. All adults mingle freely around the deck. There is no separate “upper balcony” – any elevated seating belongs to private cabanas. In short, Profsudo’s seating is casual: find a lounge chaise or stand by a cabana bar, and keep a towel handy.
Getting There and Parking
Location: Profundo Day Club is at 8-08 Queens Plaza South in Long Island City, Queens. This is just west of the 59th Street (Queensboro) Bridge and easily accessible to Astoria and Midtown Manhattan. The hotel’s entrance is on the east side of Queens Plaza South near 8th Avenue.
Subway and Bus: The quickest way by public transit is via the E, M or R subway lines. Take any of those trains to the Queens Plaza station, which is literally one block south of Profundo www.ticketfairy.com . The G, 7, and other M/R/E lines also stop at Court Square-23rd St – about a 10-minute walk east on Jackson Ave. Several Q* bus routes run along Queens Boulevard (Q32, Q60, etc.) and stop near Queens Plaza. If you prefer ferries, the NYC Ferry (Astoria or East River lines) docks at Gantry Plaza Park, which is about a 10-minute walk down 2nd Street from Profundo www.ticketfairy.com .
Driving/Parking: Profundo itself has no public parking. The Ravel Hotel has a small valet garage (located under the new tower); the cost is roughly $25 per day www.ticketfairy.com , but spots are very limited and fill fast, especially on weekends. Street parking in LIC is scarce and heavily metered or permit-only. We recommend taking a taxi or rideshare: drivers can drop off and pick up on West 11th Street directly in front of the hotel www.ticketfairy.com . Accessible parking garages exist a few blocks away, but even those can be pricey and may have height restrictions. If you must drive, arrive very early to hunt for a spot, or consider parking in Astoria and taking the short subway ride.
Inside the Venue
Upon arrival, guests must present their ticket (printed or mobile QR) and a valid government photo ID (New York State driver’s license, state ID or passport) for entry www.ticketfairy.com . Note that NYC municipal IDs or student IDs are not accepted www.ticketfairy.com . There is a brief security check (bag inspection) before entering the pool deck. Once inside, the atmosphere is bright and tropical by day. The pool area is outdoor, so you’ll feel the breeze off the river. After dark, string lights and soft uplighting quietly dress up the space www.ticketfairy.com .
Inside the venue you will find a full-service outdoor bar and order station. The bar serves crafted cocktails, frozen drinks, wine, beer (several taps) and non-alcoholic refreshments. Nearby you’ll see food counters or servers taking orders – light snacks and appetizers like tuna poke bowls, shrimp cocktail, fish tacos, burgers, sushi and lobster rolls are on the menu www.ticketfairy.com . Staff will come to your lounge or daybed to take drink orders, but you can also walk up to the bar. Bottled water, soda and sunscreen are sold on site. (No outside food/drink is allowed, so plan to use the venue’s menu if you get hungry.)
Each guest receives one towel and one Profundo-branded mesh bag as part of the day pass www.ticketfairy.com . There are complimentary coin-free lockers available near the entry to store valuables. A hat-check booth is also offered (so you can stow sunglasses or loose items) www.ticketfairy.com . Restrooms are located inside the Ravel Hotel (downstairs on the lobby level); staff can direct you to an elevator or stairs. Remember that sandals or flip-flops are recommended, since the deck gets wet, and apply reef-safe sunscreen.
Rules to note: Profundo is strictly a 21+ venue – children and pets are never permitted www.ticketfairy.com . No outside alcohol or glass containers are allowed. No cigarette smoking or vaping is permitted on the pool deck. The club provides lounge blankets and cushions, but avoids large floats. (The pool is shallow – about 4 ft – so floating devices or large rafts aren’t necessary and are generally not allowed www.ticketfairy.com .)
Nearby Amenities
Since Profundo is part of the Ravel Hotel, amenities at the hotel are right downstairs. On the ground floor you’ll find the Ravel Garden Grill , a casual indoor/outdoor eatery and beer garden run by Chef Seth Levine www.ticketfairy.com . It serves BBQ chicken skewers, tako tacos, lobster rolls and other grill/bar bites, plus craft beers and cocktails. There are yard games and lawn seating outside that patio. Above Profundo, the hotel’s Penthouse 808 is an upscale rooftop restaurant/lounge with a Pacific Rim menu and impressive skyline views www.ticketfairy.com . (Penthouse 808 enforces a smart-casual dress code and does not allow swimwear; it’s essentially a separate dinner venue.)
Just a few steps from the hotel is Gantry Plaza State Park , a riverfront park with piers, lawn games and the NYC Ferry dock (serve the Astoria/Ferry line). It’s a great place to arrive early and enjoy skyline views before heading to Profundo www.ticketfairy.com . In the surrounding Long Island City/Queens Plaza area you’ll find many restaurant and bar options within walking distance: from delis and coffee shops to pizzerias to cocktail lounges and craft breweries. Popular dinner options include taco joints, sushi bars and gastropubs along Vernon Boulevard. If you need a hotel room after the party, Ravel itself is right there, and nearby hotels include a DoubleTree and Hyatt Place.
What Makes This Venue Special
Profundo Day Club stands out because it brings a beachfront-club vibe to Queens. In a city of mostly indoor nightclubs, it offers an open-air “day club” experience with a pool and lounge setting www.ticketfairy.com www.ticketfairy.com . Patrons love lounging under the sun (or stars) while dancing to DJs, which feels more like a resort vacation than a typical bar. Its Manhattan skyline backdrop and proximity to the Queensboro Bridge make the view unique – the architecture was even designed to embrace the Bridge’s dramatic frame www.ticketfairy.com . Locals note that Profundo was “exactly what” LIC/Astoria residents wanted for summer, providing a nearby escape without going to Long Island or the Hamptons www.ticketfairy.com . The club also made headlines for safely reopening in June 2020 during the pandemic (with mandatory on-site COVID tests) as one of the first NYC nightlife venues to experiment with socially distanced pool events www.ticketfairy.com .
In sum, Profundo’s special character comes from this blend of elements: a boutique hotel’s sleek design, a well-stocked bar, poolside DJs, and a skyline panorama. It has hosted many memorable summer parties and become a weekly tradition for day-life enthusiasts. Even though its pool is shallow (just four feet deep) www.ticketfairy.com , the venue’s focus is on relaxing and socializing – it’s about the vibe more than swimming laps. Many visitors cite the friendly, energetic atmosphere and spectacular views as reasons they keep coming back.
Visitor Tips and Information
Accessibility: The pool deck is on the third floor of an ADA-compliant hotel tower, reachable by elevator, so it is wheelchair accessible. However, the pool itself only has stairs (no wheelchair lift), so swimmers must be able to use steps. All public areas, restrooms and the bar venues comply with standard accessibility guidelines.
What to bring: Pack your swimsuit, sunglasses, and any sun protection (sunscreen, hat, etc.). A towel and mesh bag are provided. Bring your ID (required at entrance) and some cash or card if you plan to tip bartenders or waitstaff – standard 15–20% tipping is appreciated. There are lockers to store valuables and free towel service, so you don’t have to tote much. If you plan to dine at the hotel’s restaurant after, be sure to bring a change of clothes (swimwear isn’t allowed in Penthouse 808).
What not to bring: Outside food, beverages and coolers are forbidden. No glass bottles are permitted anywhere on deck (plastic bottles and cans only). Large floatation toys and life jackets are not allowed in the shallow pool. Pets and minors are not permitted under any circumstances www.ticketfairy.com . Personal umbrellas are not needed as daybeds have shade covers; rain ponchos are a good idea if the forecast is uncertain.
Dress code: Profundo is a “pool chic” environment . Think stylish swimwear (ladies in one- or two-piece swimsuits or swim dresses; men in nice swim trunks or shorts). Cover-ups, summer dresses and linen shirts are common. However, athletic attire is discouraged: no baseball caps, sneakers, gym shorts or torn/ripped jeans allowed on the pool deck . Most people change into swimwear downstairs before coming up. In any case, avoid excessively casual clothes.
Arrival time: Doors typically open around noon for day use. If you have a cabana reservation, plan to arrive as early as possible (around opening) to get prime daylight. General admission lines can form quickly on hot summer weekends, so arriving well before showtime helps ensure entry without waiting. If you’re on a strict schedule and have a cabana, text or call the host (if one is provided) when you reach the neighborhood for a smooth drop-off.
Tips: Pool-side staff circulate but it never hurts to let them know if you need service. It’s customary to tip your waiter or bartender for good service. Many patrons use the Profundo-branded towels as souvenirs, so don’t be surprised if towels are occasionally collected and cleaned on the spot. If weather looks threatening, Profundo usually gives credits for another day rather than refunds www.ticketfairy.com . Finally, enjoy the view – Profundo’s hill-like elevation is perfect for sunset photos over the East River and Manhattan.

How much does it cost to enter Profundo Day Club?
A standard day pass is about $50 per person for full-day access (typically 12 pm–9 pm) www.ticketfairy.com . Afternoon or “sunset” half-day passes run around $25 www.ticketfairy.com . There may be additional charges (taxes or fees) from third-party sellers. Private daybed reservations have higher costs: for example, a 2-person lounge daybed starts at a $200 tab, and a 4-person poolside cabana at a $400 tab www.ticketfairy.com . At the door, tickets are rarely available on busy days, so expect lines if purchasing last minute.
Does Profundo Day Club have a box office or door sales?
No. Profundo does not sell tickets in person. All entries and bed bookings must be paid online ahead of time www.ticketfairy.com . If space remains on a given day, a handful of tickets might appear for sale that morning, but that is uncommon on peak weekends or DJ events. Planning ahead and buying online is strongly advised.
What are the nearest public transportation options?
The Queen’s Plaza subway station (E, M and R trains) is the closest, located just one block south of Profundo www.ticketfairy.com . You can also use the Court Square complex (G, E, M and 7 trains) a few blocks away. Several bus routes run along Queens Boulevard nearby. Additionally, the NYC Ferry (Astoria/East River line) docks at Gantry Plaza Park, which is about a 10-minute walk from the club www.ticketfairy.com . Rideshare drop-off on West 11th Street (at the hotel entrance) is common since parking is very limited www.ticketfairy.com .
Is Profundo Day Club wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Profundo’s rooftop deck is reached by elevator from the hotel lobby, so wheelchair access to the deck is provided. The pool area and bar are at one level. (However, note that the pool has only stairs and no ramp lift.) All pathways, restrooms in the building, and bar areas comply with ADA standards. If you have special accessibility needs, contact the hotel in advance for assistance as a precaution.
What kind of seating does Profundo have?
The deck features open lawn and patio areas. There are lounge chairs and chaise loungers around the pool for general admission (first-come basis) www.ticketfairy.com . Along the perimeter, elevated grassy lawns hold the VIP daybeds and cabanas. Reserved seating (daybeds/cabanas with tab) is on grass or wooden deck and must be booked ahead www.ticketfairy.com . Otherwise, seating is casual – small folding chairs or benches are scattered, but most people stand or lounge by their group. The DJ booth and sound system are at one corner by the pool, so anywhere on the deck has good audio and views www.ticketfairy.com .
What amenities are included with a day pass?
Each paid day pass includes entry for the session, plus one towel and one Profundo-branded mesh bag per guest www.ticketfairy.com . You’ll also receive a free locker (coin-free) for personal items and complimentary hat-check service www.ticketfairy.com . Other amenities (bar, restrooms, towels) are shared with all guests. Daybeds or cabanas include the service of a staff member and, typically, a beverage credit, depending on the booking tier.
Are children or pets allowed at Profundo Day Club?
No – Profundo enforces a strict 21-and-over policy www.ticketfairy.com . You must be at least 21 with a valid photo ID to enter. As such, no children, infants or pets of any kind are permitted, even if accompanied by adults. This ensures the atmosphere remains a true nightclub environment. Violators will be denied entry or asked to leave.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is “pool chic” . Think stylish resort wear and swimsuits. Appropriate attire would be nice swimwear, sundresses, linen shirts, etc. Athletic or street clothes (sneakers, gym shorts, baseball caps, hoodies, ripped jeans) are discouraged and could be turned away . Since the sun can be strong, many people wear hats (aside from baseball caps) and cover-ups until they enter the pool area. Bring a good pair of sandals (non-slip) and a nice cover (e.g. sarong or linen shirt) if you plan to walk outdoors. Remember Penthouse 808 (the hotel’s rooftop restaurant) has a separate smart-casual code if you go up there after.
Can I bring outside food or drinks?
No. Outside alcohol, food, plastic coolers, or glass containers are not allowed on the pool deck. All beverages and food must be purchased from the venue’s bars and kitchen www.ticketfairy.com . This policy is strictly enforced for safety and licensing reasons. You may bring sealed water bottles (plastic) and necessary personal care items, but any cooler or outside drink will be confiscated at entry.
What food and drinks are available inside the club?
Profundo has a full outdoor bar serving beers, wines, cocktails, frozen drinks and non-alcoholic drinks. Snack and light meal options are available on-site: typical offerings include things like fish tacos, tuna poke bowls, sliders, shrimp cocktails, sushi and lobster rolls www.ticketfairy.com . You can order at the bar or from roaming servers. Prices are moderate (e.g. $10–$20 per item, cocktails in the mid-teens and up), similar to other NYC pool clubs. Bottled water and soft drinks are also sold. No fine-dining menu is offered (that’s for Penthouse 808 instead).
Does Profundo provide towels and lockers?
Yes. Each guest pass includes one towel and one Profundo pool tote www.ticketfairy.com . You can swap your towels out at any time for fresh ones. The club also offers complimentary lockers for day use so you can store your belongings safely while swimming. A staffed hat-check booth is available for your valuables (phones, jewelry, bags, etc.). Just keep in mind Profundo strongly discourages bringing valuables – use lockers or leave things in your car/hotel.
What happens if it rains?
Profundo is completely outdoors, so rain or severe weather can force a shutdown. If an event is cancelled due to weather, Profundo typically credits your ticket toward a future date (they do not issue full cash refunds) www.ticketfairy.com . They monitor storms carefully; in a light drizzle they may continue with patio cover. In a heavy storm or lightning, they will end the day early. Check Profundo’s social media or your ticket email before heading over if there’s a weather concern.
Is Profundo Day Club indoors or outdoors?
Profundo is entirely outdoors. It’s an open-air rooftop terrace. All lounging, bar service and dining are on the outdoor deck next to the pool www.ticketfairy.com . In fair weather this is great, but note it is closed if weather is poor.
How can I plan for a visit to Profundo on short notice?
If you want to go on short notice, first check online for any available passes that day. Sometimes a few tickets get released the morning of. Otherwise, try calling the Ravel Hotel to see if any bookings opened up. Note that especially during summer weekends, Profundo often sells out weeks ahead. It’s safer to plan ahead. If you must go last-minute, arrive early to stand by for no-show tickets, or just enjoy cocktails at the hotel’s roof lounge (Penthouse 808) and watch if space opens up.
