About RIGAN Resto-Bar

RIGAN Resto-Bar is a restaurant and nightlife venue in Devanahalli, Karnataka, which lies in Bengaluru’s North district. Devanahalli is known for its proximity to the historic Nandi Hills (to the west) and for hosting Bangalore’s Kempegowda International Airport . RIGAN is located on the NH 7 highway (near the Shell petrol pump in Guttahalli) , making it convenient for travelers coming from Bangalore or the airport. It operates as a combined restaurant and bar, with space for dining as well as a stage area for live music and DJ events. In a region with relatively few late-night venues, RIGAN has become a local entertainment hub – offering multi-cuisine dining, an open-air vibe (with both indoor and outdoor seating), and nightlife programming.

Events and Programming

RIGAN frequently hosts parties, concerts, and themed nights. Typical events include DJ dance nights, live band performances (rock, pop or regional music), and special one-off festivals. A notable past event was the “Mystic Moon Festival” in November 2019, a two-day electronic music event held at RIGAN. That festival featured two stages (a “Commercial” stage and a “Techno” stage) with international and local DJs playing non-stop music www.ticketfairy.com. For example, lineups included DJs like Andrew Mathers and Jonas Monterio on one stage, and Deepesh Sharma on another www.ticketfairy.com, indicating that RIGAN can host large-scale dance parties.

Outside of large festivals, RIGAN runs regular weekend programming. Friday and Saturday nights often see DJ parties with pop, EDM or Bollywood music, along with open-mic or cover-band nights. On local holidays (New Year’s Eve, regional festivals, etc.), the venue typically stages special themed events. In general, events are advertised locally on social media or event platforms; it pays to check closer to the date, since schedules can vary. (For the Mystic Moon Festival, tickets were sold as “all ages” and had tiered prices , though most nightclub events at night are 18+ or 21+ due to alcohol licensing.) The presence of a proper stage and sound rig means RIGAN can accommodate both seated audiences and standing/dance floor areas, making it flexible for concerts, dance parties, or mobile DJ nights.

Tickets and Booking

Tickets to RIGAN’s events are typically sold through online event portals or at the door. For example, the Mystic Moon Festival 2019 tickets were available on the MeraEvents platform, with prices around ₹199 for women and ₹499 for men . These ticket prices give a rough idea: small club nights might have cover charges of a few hundred rupees, while major festivals or big DJs could command higher all-inclusive tickets. When big events are announced, it’s wise to book early online to get the best rates; popular shows may sell out in advance.

If no online presale is listed, door sales are usually permitted until capacity is reached. RIGAN encourages advance booking for tables if you plan to dine or bring a large group. In practice, best strategy is to check RIGAN’s official channels (phone or WhatsApp) or local event sites. The venue’s contact number is published as +91 74838 60149 www.ticketfairy.com; callers can inquire about upcoming shows or reserve a table. For smaller events, showing up early on event night (before doors open) can help secure a spot. Always confirm ticket outlets or opening times when booking.

Seating and Layout

RIGAN’s interior combines sit-down dining area with open social space. The stage for live performances is at one end of the hall, with the audience area spread out in front. Seating often consists of restaurant tables along the sides and back, and lounge-style couches or high-top tables nearer the stage for a relaxed view. During shows, much of the central floor can become standing or dancing space. It appears there is a raised VIP/semi-private section near the stage or side walls (as was offered during festivals), in addition to general admission.

For acoustic reasons, the best listening/viewing spots are generally a few rows back from the stage – close enough to feel the music but not so close as to be overwhelmed by speakers. Speakers and subwoofers are usually mounted around the stage, so seats immediately to the side can sometimes experience booming bass. In most cases, aim for center-front if you want the full audio mix, or sit mid-hall if you prefer balanced sound. During non-concert hours (just dining), you can use any seating, but for shows be prepared to stand or loose seating. There is no permanent balcony – it’s a one-floor venue – so there are no blind spots except immediately behind large columns if any. (As a general tip, avoid sitting directly under the main ceiling speakers if possible, since sound there can be very loud.)

Getting There and Parking

RIGAN Restobar is located at Survey No. 1/1, NH7 Highway, Guttahalli Village, Kasaba Hobli, Devanahalli . In practice, it’s on the Bangalore–Devanahalli (NH 44/7) road about 5–10 km north of Kempegowda International Airport. If driving from Bengaluru city, take the NICE Road or Airport Road (NH7) north past Devanahalli. Watch for the Shell petrol station landmark; RIGAN is just beyond it . GPS and Google Maps will usually locate "Rigan Restobar" by name.

For those using public transit, the most reliable method is to take a Bangalore city bus or airport shuttle to Devanahalli/KIA, then hire a cab or autorickshaw for the last leg. BMTC operates frequent airport buses (Vayu Vajra AC-volvo) from main city points to Kempegowda International Airport . From the airport or from Devanahalli town centre (the town bus stand), RIGAN is a short 10–15 minute auto ride north. (There is no direct Metro train or regular city bus that stops right at RIGAN, since it is outside the city limit.)

For car drivers, ample parking is available on-site. The venue has its own parking lot adjacent to the building, typically free of charge, which fills up during big events. On weekends it’s wise to arrive an hour early to secure a spot. Rideshare drop-offs (Uber/Ola) and taxi stands can unload at the venue entrance on NH7. Note that NH7 is a busy highway: if on foot from Devanahalli, use pedestrian crossings and plan for limited sidewalks. Always allow extra travel time, especially on holiday weekends when Nandi Hills traffic can back up nearby roads.

Inside the Venue

Upon entry to RIGAN, staff may check tickets or reservations at the door. Security is usually present for events, with brief bag checks. Carry a valid photo ID (and proof of age if needed) when planning to drink. The overall vibe is casual and lively – it feels like an outdoor lounge or club. Expect loud music and dancing on event nights, with house lighting setting a party mood. During quieter hours, the atmosphere is more of a casual restaurant with soft music. Seating is a mix of wood tables and soft couches; the decor is typically modern bar style with ambient lights and neon signs.

Food and drink are sold on-site year-round. The kitchen menu spans Indian and international cuisine – from South/ North Indian dishes and Chinese entrees to continental mains and pizza. Coffee, juices, and non-alcoholic beverages are available too, for daytime diners. The bar serves beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits (domestic whiskies and vodkas are common). Drink prices are comparable with Bangalore standards (beer around ₹150–250, cocktails ₹250–300). Remember that Karnataka’s legal drinking age is 21, so bartenders will ask younger-looking patrons for ID. The menu and bar menu can vary, so check with staff night-of for special items or live kitchen availability.

The venue has restrooms (generally gender-separated) located toward the back. They are usually kept reasonably clean, though lines can form at peak times. (It’s a good idea to use the restroom pre-show to avoid missing any performances.) Other facilities: there may be a small coat-check or cloakroom at busy events (RIGAN staff can assist), and a merchandise stall for large concerts (rare for smaller shows). Wi-Fi is sometimes offered, but signal can be spotty when crowded; cellular networks (4G) typically cover the area. Overall, inside the venue one should dress casually but neatly – shirts and jeans or dresses are normal, and sensible shoes (high heels are not recommended on potentially slippery dance floors).

Nearby Amenities

RIGAN sits in a semi-rural area, so dining and lodging options are limited nearby. Immediately around Devanahalli, you’ll find small local hotels and cafes serving South Indian meals. If you plan to dine before a show, note that the venue itself often opens by late afternoon with appetizers or snacks. Otherwise, pre-dinner in Devanahalli town (5–10 km south) is possible: look for roadside eateries or a 24-hour bakery, but don’t expect fine dining. The closest reputable hotels with restaurants are near the airport or Nandi Hills. For example, the Prestige Golfshire/JW Marriott Resort (about 12 km south in Kodigehalli) has multi-cuisine restaurants and is popular with tourists, but that is a drive away. Within 20 km north or south of RIGAN, major hotels include airport-area hotels like the Lalit Ashok or Holiday Inn (approximately 10–15 km south towards Bangalore).

In terms of night-life, RIGAN is mostly standalone; there aren’t other bars immediately adjacent. After the show, you can catch an autorickshaw or ride-share back to your hotel. The main city of Bangalore is about 40 km away – a late-night taxi back (post-party) should be booked ahead or via app, since buses won’t be running. Kansar service (app-based bikes or scooters) might be available but note helmets and road rules. If staying overnight, plan to either stay in Devanahalli (where a few budget hotels and guest houses exist) or near Nandi Hills. Always check the last transport options at night and consider sharing rides if traveling alone.

What Makes This Venue Special

RIGAN Resto-Bar is unique in the Devanahalli area for bringing Bangalore-style nightlife to the outskirts. Architecturally it isn’t a famous heritage site, but its charm comes from the open setting under the Devanahalli sky and the lively social scene it fosters. It is one of the few places where Bangalore’s club crowd can gather on the airport highway, mixing city patrons with local residents in a casual, scenic environment. The fact that it regularly books large music events (like the Mystic Moon electronic festival) gives it a reputation as a serious party spot beyond just a neighborhood restaurant. Locally, it has cultural significance as a weekend landmark where groups meet for music and dance outside the city center. Many Bangalore-based techies and airport workers enjoy its presence as a nearby after-work hangout or weekend escape.

Famous performances at RIGAN tend to be regional or Underground acts rather than national stars – for example, local bands, DJs from India’s dance scene, and occasional visiting international DJs. Attendees often share videos from shows on social media (with hashtags like #RiganParty) indicating its popularity in niche circles. The venue also occasionally hosts community events or South Indian festival celebrations, tying it into local traditions (for example, special party nights on New Year or Dussehra). In short, RIGAN’s special character is that it belongs neither fully to the city center nor to a small-town vibe – it is a bridge between Bangalore’s nightlife and the growing economic zone around the airport, giving both tourists and locals a lively place to gather.

Visitor Tips and Information

Accessibility: As a ground-level venue, RIGAN likely has ramps or no-step entries (common for newer Indian buildings) but it’s best to call ahead if you need a wheelchair, to confirm accessible restrooms. During big events, crowding can make navigation tricky. If you have mobility concerns, consider sitting near aisle spaces so you can exit easily.

What to Bring: Bring a valid photo ID (proof of age), cash or card for food/drinks, and your event ticket (printed or on phone) if there is an entry charge. If sensitive to loud music, consider earplugs. Late-night events can be humid, so lightweight clothing is fine, though remember mosquitoes on an outdoor patio. Women might carry a small purse and men a secure wallet – there is no strict bag-check, but inconspicuous storage is wise.

Arrival Time: Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime for popular events, so you can settle in and avoid lines. Doors often open about an hour before performance time. For smaller nights (e.g. DJ sets), showing up right at start is usually okay. Check if the venue has assigned tables if you booked one – they may hold it until a few minutes after start.

Age and ID: The legal drinking age in Karnataka is 21, and RIGAN enforces this for alcohol. If you look under 25, expect the staff to ask for ID if you’re ordering liquor. Families with kids are usually welcome during dining hours, but after dark the crowd is mostly adults 18+ (especially since it’s a bar). Smoking is prohibited inside by law, but there is typically an outdoor area where smokers congregate.

Common Mistakes: Visitors often forget the remote location – do not expect Bangalore city amenities (like 24/7 stores or frequent buses) nearby. Also, cell signal may drop on site; it’s a good idea to screenshot a map or contact number beforehand. If coming by cab, specify “Rigan Restobar NH7 Devanahalli” and consider dropping off a bit early to avoid missing a turn. Do NOT try to cross NH7 on foot in the dark; use any pedestrian crossing or ask the guard for safe passage. In terms of etiquette, excessive loud speech (over the music) is frowned upon, but friendly mingling is fine. Tipping staff (10% or rounding up) is customary in restaurants here.

Provider Services: RIGAN does not prominently advertise coat check, valet, or babysitting, so assume these are not available. You should not bring outside food or drinks into the show area. Cameras without flash are usually allowed for personal snapshots, but professional photography likely requires venue permission. Cellphones are fine, just put them on vibrate. If you need assistance inside (drinks spilled, restroom issue), look for staff in uniform – they are generally helpful and speak English or Kannada.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is RIGAN Resto-Bar located?

RIGAN Resto-Bar is at Survey No. 1/1 on the NH-7 highway in Guttahalli (Kasaba Hobli), Devanahalli, Bangalore – near the Shell petrol pump on the highway . This is just north of Kempegowda International Airport, roughly 5–10 km from the main terminal . Use a map app with those details or simply search for “Rigan Restobar Devanahalli.” The venue opens into a parking lot right off the highway.

How do I buy tickets for an event at RIGAN?

Tickets are usually sold online and sometimes at the venue. For larger concerts (like music festivals), tickets went on sale through Indian event sites (e.g. MeraEvents) . For smaller DJ or band nights, there might only be door sales. The best approach is to follow RIGAN’s official announcements (phone: +91 74838 60149 www.ticketfairy.com or social media) and buy early if there’s an online option. If not sold out, you can often just buy at the door on the night of the show, though arriving early is wise for popular events.

What do tickets cost?

Prices vary by event. For reference, the Mystic Moon Festival 2019 at RIGAN charged ₹199 for women and ₹499 for men . A regular club night or DJ party typically might cost on the order of ₹100–₹300 as a cover charge (if there is one). Major festivals could go higher. In any case, check the specific event poster or listing for ticket rates. On the door, expect to pay at least the advertised price, or slightly more if it’s a last-minute ticket.

Is there a box office or advance sales point?

RIGAN does not have a traditional box office counter like a cinema. Instead, tickets for big events are sold via online platforms (see above). Sometimes small events may allow “on-the-door” purchase. If you need advance access, your best bet is to contact the venue phone (listed on their business details www.ticketfairy.com) or see if any local promotions mention a kiosk. Otherwise, treat it like a club – plan to pay and enter on event night directly if tickets are still available.

Is there parking available, and is it free?

Yes, RIGAN has its own parking lot adjacent to the venue, which is generally free for patrons. The lot has space for dozens of cars and some bikes. On event nights it can fill up, so arrive early if you have your own vehicle. There is no valet service – just park in the marked areas. Do not park on the NH-7 shoulder. Street parking in the village is also available, but using the venue lot is safest.

How do I get to RIGAN by bus or taxi?

By public bus: Take any BMTC (Bangalore MINI) bus heading to Devanahalli (e.g. route 298 from Shivajinagar/Shivaji Nagar) or the airport (Vayu Vajra AC-volvo). Alight at the Devanahalli town stop or the airport bus stop. From there, catch an autorickshaw or taxi north toward NH-7 – it’s a short ride.
By cab/ride-share: The easiest is to tell your driver “Rigan Restobar, Devanahalli NH-7.” If coming from Bangalore or the airport, expect a drive of 40–50 km. From Kempegowda Airport it’s roughly a 10–15 minute taxi north. There is no direct metro or train stop; the venue is best reached by road.

What kind of seating is there and what should I wear?

Seating at RIGAN is casual – a mix of dining tables and lounge chairs around a central open space and stage. During concerts, many people stand or dance, so feel free to move around. For dining-only visits, most tables are first-come. There are no formal “VIP only” sections during normal nights, though some events may sell reserved seats or tables near the stage.
Dress code is smart-casual. Collared shirts, T-shirts, jeans or dresses are all fine. Avoid beachwear or flip-flops if attending a late-night party. On hot evenings, a light jacket or shawl is fine as the venue can get cooler after midnight. Comfort is key – many people dress similar to how they would for a Bangalore pub or lounge.

Are outside food or drinks allowed?

No. RIGAN does not allow guests to bring in outside food or alcohol. All drinks must be purchased from the bar or restaurant on site. During events, ushers may ask you to stow any items like beer bottles or snacks. There is a full menu of food and drinks available at the venue, so you can order on the spot. Water bottles or personal medications are the only exceptions typically allowed.

What is the legal drinking age and are kids allowed?

The legal drinking age in Karnataka is 21. RIGAN enforces this – staff will check ID (like a driver’s license or passport) if you order alcohol and look under 25. Children and teenagers are not barred during dining hours, but note the scene is adult-oriented, especially late at night. By late evening (9–10 pm), the crowd is mostly 18+ due to the bar atmosphere. The Mystic Moon Festival was advertised as “all ages” www.ticketfairy.com, but that was a family-friendly daytime event. In general, expect an 18+ crowd after dark.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

RIGAN is on ground level with a ramp at the entrance, so wheelchair entry should be possible. There is no second floor to navigate. However, the layout can be crowded during events, so it’s best to call ahead at +91 74838 60149 to confirm accommodations. Keep in mind that the restroom areas may be compact. If you have special accessibility needs, arriving early or informing staff in advance is recommended.

Does RIGAN have restrooms and other amenities?

Yes, there are restrooms on site (generally marked for men and women) and they are available for customers. Because the venue is essentially a restaurant with entertainment, basic amenities like sinks, soap, and A/C or fans in the restrooms are provided. There is typically no coat check or storage; bring minimal personal items. At larger shows, a small merchandise counter may appear in a corner, but this is not guaranteed. The venue usually offers free Wi-Fi, but signal may vary. Otherwise, expect 4G cellular service in the area.

What time do events typically start and end?

Showtimes can vary. Many live music events start in the evening (8–9 PM) and go until around midnight or later. For example, the Mystic Moon Festival ran from late afternoon into the early morning hours . For typical club nights, expect entry around 8–9PM, with music playing well past midnight. Bar service usually continues until closing time (often 11:30 PM–12:00 AM). Always check the specific event details, as some daytime or all-ages events may start earlier.

What is the capacity of RIGAN Resto-Bar?

Official capacity figures are not published. Judging by past events (two-stage festivals, full-house parties) it appears to hold several hundred people at most. It is not as large as Bangalore city clubs (which can hold 500+), but with indoor seating plus an open area it can accommodate a sizeable crowd. If you need specifics (for arranging a private event, say), contact the venue directly – they may quote a booking capacity.

Does RIGAN serve food, and can I eat there before a show?

Yes. RIGAN operates a full kitchen. It typically opens around lunch or afternoon, serving a menu of Indian and international dishes. You can certainly dine there before a concert – appetizers, snacks and mains are available (e.g. pizzas, biryanis, Indo-Chinese dishes, etc.). During shows, food service may continue with a reduced (fast-snack) menu. If you want a full meal, arrive at least an hour before a show’s start to have time to eat. The outdoor seating area is especially nice for dinner if the weather is pleasant.

Are there age or dress code restrictions?

There is no strict dress code, but both staff and patrons tend to be dressed in casual or smart-casual attire (for example, jeans, T-shirts, casual dresses). Avoid very beachy or ultra-sporty attire. For age: no children’s age ban during the day, but 21+ is enforced for drinking after dark. A show or party may be advertised as “all ages” if it runs early, but assume events with alcohol are for adults. Carry ID at night to prove age.

Is RIGAN currently open for dining and events?

As of late 2024/2025, local listings showed that RIGAN was “temporarily closed for dining” . This status may change with new management or after renovations. To be sure, one should call the venue’s contact number or check recent local reviews. If listed as closed, you may have to wait for an official reopening or check if they still host occasional scheduled events. (Many restaurants falsely list as “closed for dining” during permit renewals or Covid-era downtime, then reopen.)
