About The Wrecking Bar

The Wrecking Bar is a lively bar & grill in downtown Lemoore, California (address: 700 N Lemoore Ave ). It opened around 2013 and quickly became one of the city’s top nightlife spots. This medium-sized venue is known for its energetic, dance-club vibe, eclectic decor and friendly staff . It caters to a surprisingly diverse crowd – local young adults mixed with many military personnel (drawn from nearby Naval Air Station Lemoore) . Inside you’ll find a central dance floor and DJ booth under colorful lighting, plus a full bar serving craft beers and cocktails (a review notes its “diverse selection of craft beers and cocktails” with tasty bar snacks ). The atmosphere is often described as fun and inviting: one visitor guide calls it a “vibrant nightlife destination” with a “dynamic dance floor” and “standout mixologists” tending bar . Signature touches like their famous “pizza pockets” and lively drink specials help make The Wrecking Bar a memorable local hangout .

Events and Programming

The Wrecking Bar is active most nights with music and parties. Weekly highlights include karaoke and DJ dance nights. For example, every Wednesday is karaoke night (roughly 8PM–midnight) and Friday night features a live DJ spinning hits . Other regular promotions keep things fresh – long-time patrons mention dollar-beer nights and themed parties (e.g. St. Patrick’s Day) that build community among fans . Beyond the weekly schedule, the bar hosts larger special events several times a year. An annual Halloween Party is a big draw (in 2024 it was promoted as an all-night costume party with DJs, contests and specials ). Likewise, The Wrecking Bar celebrated its 10-year anniversary in August 2024 with a daytime/early-evening festival: it featured local food trucks, craft breweries, games and live music by bands (e.g. Three 4 All, Gen Fm, and Alex in Chains) . Other live entertainment – such as touring comedy or pop acts (for example, a “Men Next Door” girls’-night-out show in early 2025) – also appear from time to time. In short, the venue’s programming is varied: you can expect local DJs late on weekends, karaoke midweek, holiday bashes and special concert or theme nights throughout the year.

Tickets and Booking

Most casual nights at The Wrecking Bar have no advance tickets – you simply walk in (cover charges, if any, are usually minimal or based on special events). For bigger shows or festivals, tickets are often sold in advance. These ticketed events are typically advertised on social media or local event sites. For example, the bar’s 10th-anniversary bash in Aug 2024 had advance tickets at $25 with a higher door price of $35 . Similarly, a Halloween party was ticketed at $5 pre-sale, $10 at the door . In general, presales open weeks in advance and can sell out quickly for popular events; it’s best to watch the bar’s announcements or local event listings. On the door, expect to show your ticket (or pay the door price if available). There is no traditional box office on-site – tickets are usually handled online or via local venues – so plan ahead for promos. Cover charges on a given night (if any) are announced in advance, but typical cover prices range from just a few dollars up to $15–$30 for major themed parties or concerts .

Seating and Layout

The Wrecking Bar’s interior is mainly a large open room. There is a central dance floor in front of the DJ booth, flanked by high-top tables and barstools along the sides. Bar seating lines one wall, and near the back you’ll often find a pool table for patrons to use . Most nights are standing-room or general admission – there is no fixed seating chart or reserved sections. When a DJ is playing, the loud music and lights fill the space, so the best views are up front on the dance floor. If you prefer to sit or talk, head to the bar side or the corners where tables are set up. The layout is quite social: plenty of bar-height tables and stools allow you to rest a drink or chat. In fact, guides note that the floorplan “includes a pool table and plenty of seating” along with even outdoor patio seating . Acoustically, it’s a vibrant, club-like environment, so expect strong bass and live DJ sound. (Tip: If you want to hear DJs clearly, stand near the speakers; if you want to chat, find a spot further from the speakers or in the seating areas.) There is no formal VIP section or balcony – everyone shares the dance floor and bar space.

Getting There and Parking

The Wrecking Bar is conveniently located in central Lemoore at 700 North Lemoore Avenue , just off the main Highway 198/41 corridor. For drivers, there is ample free parking: in fact, the venue has its own free parking lot and the surrounding streets offer free parking as well . Note that on busy weekend nights, the lot can fill up, so arriving early helps secure a spot. If you’re using public transit, Kings Area Regional Transit (KART) serves Lemoore. Route 20 runs through the city (on weekdays and Saturdays about every 30 minutes) . The nearest bus stops to downtown are just a few blocks from the bar – check KART’s schedule for Route 20. Uber/Lyft rideshare services do operate in Lemoore (though sometimes with a wait), and drop-offs are easy at the main entrance (just give the address). In summary, by car you can reach it via Highway 198/41, parking is free on-site , and bus service (KART 20) runs nearby .

Inside the Venue

When you enter The Wrecking Bar, expect a bustling club atmosphere. There is usually a line for security/ID check on popular nights, and management enforces 21+ entry . Once inside, you’ll find one large sloping bar serving a full range of drinks. Patrons are free to roam between the dance floor and seating areas. A helpful feature: the bar offers free Wi-Fi for guests , so you can check social media or order ahead as needed. It’s entirely smoke-free indoors , so the air stays fresh even when it’s crowded. The decor is casually industrial – exposed brick and reclaimed-wood accents – fitting the “wrecking bar” theme. Staff tend to be relaxed and welcoming; one write-up praises the bartenders as “standout mixologists” whose drinks are expertly crafted . The bar pours common spirits, beers (often local craft brands), and creative cocktails. Most nights there’s no dress code beyond casual attire – you’ll see jeans and T-shirts on the dance floor. For storage, note that there is no formal coat-check area; bar tables and hooks usually serve as spots to drape jackets if needed. Restrooms are on-site and are clean (reviews highlight them as “the cleanest bathrooms” in town!), and an accessible restroom is available thanks to the building’s one-floor layout . In short, inside The Wrecking Bar you’ll find a lively club scene with helpful amenities: free Wi-Fi , friendly bartenders, and both indoor and outdoor seating .

Nearby Amenities

The area around The Wrecking Bar offers a few convenience spots. A short drive (or a modest walk) away is the heart of Lemoore, with additional eateries and coffee shops if you want a full meal or breakfast before heading home. For visitors, note that a Travelodge Lemoore and a Motel 6 are about 5 minutes south on Highway 41, offering convenient lodging near the bar. What Makes This Venue Special

The Wrecking Bar stands out for bringing a night-club experience to a small town. Its vibrant, inviting vibe – fueled by loud music, dynamic lighting and friendly bartenders – makes it feel more like a big-city club than a small hometown bar. Patrons often describe the atmosphere as relaxed yet lively: people come to dance, sing karaoke, or just hang out like it’s a second home . Over the years the Wrecking Bar has become woven into Lemoore’s social life – from weekly karaoke nights that locals look forward to , to one-off parties that city residents plan outfits for. Another special feature is its commitment to community fun: the owners regularly partner with local breweries, food trucks and bands to create big events (as happened for the 10-year bash ).
