About Plunge

Plunge is an upscale nightclub and lounge in Pune’s Koregaon Park, uniquely branded as a *vegetarian-only* pub and dance club . Housed on the 3rd floor of Jewel Square Mall (near Bharat Petroleum station, Vasani Nagar) , it occupies about 5,000 square feet and can hold over 400 guests . It bills itself as India’s first pure-veg nightclub , combining Continental and Indian vegetarian cuisine with a high-energy party vibe . The interior is lavish and modern – guides note “plush interiors” and a “cozy seating layout” surrounding a large central dance floor . Plunge has become known for world-class music and lively dance parties, all in a women-centric, safe environment (the owners pitched it as “Pune’s most women-centric place” and a “family environment where guests feel like home” ). In short, it’s a signature venue in Pune’s nightlife scene – a place to dine on innovative vegetarian fare by night and dance under lasers by late evening, all at a more upscale, international club standard . Historically, Plunge opened before 2020 as an all-day kitchen and bar, then pivoted to become a “Lounge & Nightlife” destination. It shut down during the COVID years and relaunched in May 2022 as “Plunge 2.0” with grand opening parties. The comeback, held May 13–15, 2022, featured big-name DJs (e.g. Nikhil Chinappa, Browncoat, DJ Kevu and DJ Mr. Jammer) . The owners even hinted at bringing international nightclub flair (with extras like a champagne shower area ). Ever since reopening, Plunge has regularly promoted itself as a premier nightlife destination where sophisticated Pune audiences gather for dancing and fun.

Events and Programming

Plunge’s calendar revolves around high-energy club events every week, especially on weekends. The venue typically throws themed parties and DJ nights rather than live bands or theater shows. On a typical weeknight or weekend, expect world-class DJs spinning a mix of Bollywood, EDM, hip-hop, and pop music. For example, critics and visitors note the “rocking vibes” and “diverse music genres played by talented DJs throughout the night” at Plunge . Popular recurring offerings have included Bollywood-themed nights and special-event parties. One example is the “Plunge Goes Desi” Independence Day bash (Aug 14, 2025), which featured live DJ sets by Ruchal and guest appearances, along with desi-themed décor and a compulsory ethnic wear dress code . Plunge also screens live sports on big screens on occasion, keeping a party atmosphere even during events like IPL cricket. Special events often sell tickets, with different pricing tiers. In the 2025 Desi party, tickets were structured with a knowledgeable pricing: a ₹999 full-cover for female guests, a ₹1,799 package for a couple, and a VIP “meet-and-greet” option for about ₹3,499 . Generally, standard club nights may charge a cover or minimum spend; locals report cover charges for men on busy nights. (As a ballpark, a pint of beer is around ₹250 and the typical cost for two including drinks is about ₹3,000 .) To avoid missing out, it’s wise to keep an eye on Plunge’s announcements and book early – event promotions often note “limited entries” and urge pre-booking to guarantee entry . The venue’s social media (Facebook/Instagram) announces upcoming parties. For major theme nights, advance online booking through event platforms is common; last-minute door tickets may or may not be available depending on capacity.

Tickets and Booking

Tickets or table reservations at Plunge can usually be made via online event portals and the club’s official channels. Many events are listed through local ticketing sites (e.g. BookMyShow or district apps) or promoted on Plunge’s Facebook/Instagram pages. For example, one event promotion explicitly linked ticket passes to an online booking portal, warning “limited entries available – book your passes now” . For casual visits, there is no traditional box office on site, but you can often reserve a table by calling Plunge directly. The club’s contact number is +91 85030 31515 (this is also listed on Zomato and other guides). It’s a good idea to telephone or message ahead to check availability, especially for weekend nights or holidays. In terms of pricing, regular entry on a non-event night may simply require a cover charge or minimum spend at the bar. On themed events, expect ticket tiers: for example, the Independence Day party had a “Female Stag” full cover at ₹999 and a “couple entry” about ₹1,799 . Men should note that many nights at Plunge follow a “couples only” entry policy (single men without ladies may be denied entry), so plan accordingly. Any special passes or cover fees will typically be described on the event listing. It’s often cheaper to book online in advance; door price can be higher or sold out. Lastly, Zomato and other sources note that Plunge is an all-cash-and-cards establishment – they accept credit/debit and digital payments at the bar.

Seating and Layout

Plunge’s interior is designed as a nightclub, not a fixed-seat theater. The 5,000 sq. ft. floorplan is open with no tiered seating. Most guests stand or lounge around low tables, with one large dance floor near the DJ booth. Reviewers describe “cozy seating arrangements” by the walls and a spacious layout that “invites you to let loose” on the dance floor . The lounge is divided into an indoor section and an outdoor terrace area (since it’s on the 3rd floor, part of it is open-air) . You will find a few high tables and bar stools around this terrace – it offers a nice view of Koregaon Park by night. VIP tables (usually reserved in advance) are often located along the sides of the dance floor or near the stage area. For viewing and sound, the best spots depend on your goal. If you want to be in the heart of the action, snag space on the dance floor or stand close to the DJ booth and main speakers – the music is loudest there. However, it can be easier to chat and enjoy a drink at the back lounge near the bar. Some guests prefer the raised outdoor terrace or corner booths for slightly quieter vantage (though sound still permeates). No matter where you sit, the acoustics are club-standard (bass-driven) so expect powerful sound throughout. In short, pick front and center for dancing and energy; pick the sides or terrace for a more relaxed seat. Many visitors recommend arriving early to claim your preferred spot before the crowd builds .

Getting There and Parking

Plunge is located at 3rd Floor, Jewel Square Mall, Koregaon Park (Vasani Nagar) – right above a Bharat Petroleum station on North Main Road . Koregaon Park is a well-known neighbourhood, and the mall is easy to spot on Koregaon Road near Bund Garden. **By Metro:** Pune Metro’s Aqua Line now runs through Bund Garden station, which is only about a 3–4 minute walk (≈300m) from Jewel Square Mall . This makes Plunge very accessible via metro (get off at Bund Garden station and head southeast toward Koregaon Park). **By Bus/Auto:** Several PMPML bus routes and auto-rickshaws serve the Koregaon Park/Bund Garden area, so local cabs can drop you at the intersection of North Main Road and Bund Garden Road. The nearest big landmark is Osho Teerth Park; Plunge is just east of that park. **By Car/Taxi:** If driving, note that Jewel Square Mall has its own multi-level parking (likely paid) – look for entry ramps in front of the building. Urban parking can be limited on weekends, so arriving early is wise. Alternatively, taxis (Ola/Uber) and auto services generally drop right in front of Jewel Square Mall on Koregaon Road. For long-distance travel, Pune Airport is roughly 13–15 km from Koregaon Park (about a 30 – 45 min drive via Airport Express road). Pune Railway Station is about 3–4 km (10–15 min by car). Late-night visitors should plan ahead: PMC runs some night buses, but after-midnight public transport is scarce in Pune. Rideshare or pre-arranged cabs are recommended if your party will finish late (Plunge often stays open until 5–6 AM on weekends).

Inside the Venue

Expect Plunge to feel like a top-end club from the moment you enter. Staff at the door will check IDs (you must be 21+ to drink) and may search large bags. Once inside, the lighting is typically low and coloured (club ambiance), with a professional sound system pumping music. Security is tight – the venue prides itself on safety and often enforces the “couple entry only” rule, so gentlemen should come with a group or partner. Dress smart-casual or stylish; the vibe is upscale party (flip-flops and athletic wear are discouraged). The bar area serves all the drinks – despite being a pure-veg kitchen , Plunge has a full bar . You can order local and international beers (around ₹250 per pint ) or creative cocktails (the bartenders are “skilled” at mixing classics and signatures ). Note that any food in Plunge’s menu is vegetarian; popular dishes include their much-talked-about Pink Sauce Pasta . There’s no buffet but a la carte dining is available during early hours (some groups do dinner before the party). After the bar, look for restrooms on the same floor. Other amenities: there is likely no coat check (common to Indian clubs), and you cannot bring outside drinks or food. Wi-Fi is typically not offered, but mobile service is good. While inside, the atmosphere can range from relaxed (early evening) to wildly energetic (late night). Zomato and guides describe the mood as a “party vibe” with “live music” and “high-energy beats” . Screens behind the bar sometimes show sports or visuals. Tent lights and occasional laser effects may be in use. In summary, Plunge feels like a high-end nightspot – plan to pay premium prices (average spends are high ) for the upmarket décor, cocktails, and entertainment.

Nearby Amenities

Koregaon Park is loaded with dining and nightlife options minutes away from Plunge. If you want a bite before the club, the mall itself has some cafés and bars on lower floors. Just outside, Koregaon Road hosts popular restaurants like Malaka Spice (Thai/Asian), Dario (Italian), and Ethika Lounge (varied cuisine). The famous German Bakery and 10 Downing Street barely 500 m away make great pre-show gatherings with pizzas, snacks, or cocktails. For other night-time drink options, Koregaon Park has lounges like House of Medici and several rooftop pubs, though be warned most will also be closing by midnight or earlier. There are many hotels in the vicinity. One well-known option is *Oakwood Residence* on Naylor Road (about 1 km from Jewel Square Mall) – a serviced apartment hotel ideal for small groups. Larger hotels like *The Westin Pune Koregaon Park* are a couple of kilometers away, and *Conrad Pune* (Kalyani Nagar) or *Marriott Suites* (Kalyani Road) are within 3–4 km. Budget travelers might walk into Koregaon Park’s many guest houses and B&Bs (Treebo Grand, Hotel Sadanand, etc.) which are scattered around. It makes sense to stay in Koregaon Park or nearby (like Kalyani Nagar) if you plan to party late. When to arrive? If your event is scheduled to start late (common for clubs), plan to show up by 9:30–10:00 PM. On busy weekend nights, queues can form; many locals advise arriving early to “secure a good spot” on the dance floor . For fast exit afterwards, have your ride booked (Uber/Ola or taxi stand) or note that rickshaws and cabs will be available on Koregaon Road. After-hours transport is limited, so if you’re leaving post-4 AM, taxis will be your safest bet.

What Makes This Venue Special

Plunge stands out in Pune’s scene for several reasons. First, its pure-vegetarian concept is highly unusual for a nightclub . While most other bars serve meat-heavy menus, Plunge’s kitchen has built a following with inventive veg and vegan dishes (e.g. the famed Pink Sauce Pasta or Catania Pasta ). Second, its emphasis on safety and exclusivity is notable – they actively market themselves as women-friendly and even practice strict guest profiling and cover charges to curate the crowd . This gives Plunge a somewhat “international” feel (as the owners say, representing a new elite nightlife standard in Pune ). Architecturally, the club brings a modern, cocktail-lounge look to Koregaon Park. Multi-level neon lighting and lounge décor create a chic ambiance that many patrons call “upscale” and “fancy” . The sound and lighting rigs are professional-grade – dancers rave about the lighting and live DJs. Over the years, Plunge has also hosted some of the city’s biggest party moments, like its 2022 relaunch featuring viral DJs, and regular themed parties that attract crowds from all over Pune. In short, artists and audiences love Plunge for its fresh energy: it offers vegetarian fine-dining by day and an all-night dance floor by night, all under one roof, which is quite unique.

Visitor Tips and Information

- **Accessibility:** The venue is on the third floor (take the mall elevator), but note that official wheelchair access is marked as "limited" . If you have mobility issues, call ahead to confirm elevator access. - **Safety:** As part of its branding, Plunge keeps a tight security check. Be prepared for ID/Facebook ID checks (minimum age ~21 due to alcohol laws), and keep belongings secure. For ladies and groups, the club is considered relatively safe and women-centric, but always stick to your group. - **Dress Code:** Trendy, smart attire is recommended. One even-thematic rule was “Ethnic wear only” on an Independence Day party , and otherwise most nights have an upscale vibe, so avoid very casual sportswear or overly revealing outfits. Zomato notes it caters to a “fancy crowd” , so dress up for the occasion. - **Couples Only:** Be aware many nights enforce *couple-only entry*. Single men are often not admitted without female companions, so it’s best to go with a mixed group. - **What to Bring:** Carry a photo ID and (if reserved) your booking confirmation. You do not need to bring cash only – cards and digital payments are accepted at Plunge . Do not bring outside food or drink. You might bring a small purse/bag, but large backpacks may be checked. - **Booking:** For popular events, book in advance. As one tip suggests, both arrive early and make reservations on weekends to “secure a good spot” . If an event is sold out, they may not let you in for safety. - **Timing:** Officially Plunge opens around 7 PM (early dinners) and music picks up after 10 PM. On weekends it stays open very late – until around 5–6 AM . Plan your travel accordingly. On quiet weeknights it may close by 1:30 AM, but on Fri/Sat it often runs till dawn. - **Alcohol and Food:** Since it’s a pub, drinking is a big part of the experience. However, if you’re vegetarian or vegan yourself, this is great news because *all food on the menu is veg* . Even vegetarians who don’t usually club out appreciate the unique menu. (If you prefer not to drink alcohol, non-alcoholic cocktails and mocktails are also available.) Try the signature cocktails – guides specifically praise them . - **Spending:** Expect club prices. A rum cocktail might be ₹300–500, a craft cocktail ₹400–600, and food for one easily ₹1,000+ since portions are gourmet. A safe budget is at least ₹3,000–5,000 per couple if you plan to eat, drink and cover for an entire evening . Cover charges and bottle service will add more. - **No Age Restrictions (for minors):** Under-21s should *not* plan to attend given the adult venue. There’s no specific age “kids’ night”; it’s strictly an 18+/21+ party environment with loud noise. - **Photography:** Generally selfies and snapshots are fine, but avoid professional cameras or flash – security may stop this. Expect club lighting to be low. If you plan photos, the bar area and LED walls make for good shots. - **Connectivity:** There’s no guarantee of Wi-Fi, so have your ride-share or maps app ready offline. Cell service is decent. - **Insider Tip:** Plunge sometimes offers promotions like scratch cards or RuPay discounts – ask your server if any night has a special offer. Join their social media or mailing list to catch these deals or exclusive invites.
