Events and Programming

Phantom Lounge is an intimate Dupont Circle nightclub rather than a conventional concert hall. Its calendar centers on late-night DJ parties, dance events, college socials, cultural celebrations, holiday weekends and occasional artist appearances. House, hip-hop, dance music, EDM, pop, reggaeton, Afrobeats, soca and South Asian music have all appeared in documented programming. Most events begin around 9 or 10 p.m. and continue until 2 or 3 a.m.

The 2021 program included Chicago house veteran Gene Farris, demonstrating the room's connection to electronic and underground club promoters. In 2022, listings included Korean hip-hop artist Paloalto, DJ Chizzle, Art Beatz, an Afrobeats-and-soca edition of DC Fridaze and an 18-and-over Summer Beach Night built around EDM, hip-hop, pop and reggaeton.

The 2023 calendar was especially varied. Events included a Desi comedy night followed by a Bollywood party, a glow-in-the-dark Neon Holi celebration, an after-Eid party, a Capital Pride parade afterparty, a Korean Mid-Autumn Festival party and a Diwali event featuring several DJs. Electronic bookings that year included Milano Beats, Runnit, Snuffy and other supporting acts.

Documented 2024 activity included a performance by veteran hip-hop group Onyx and a ticketed North Meets South fundraiser with a DJ, cocktails, finger food and proceeds benefiting UNICEF. The venue continued with youth-oriented Phantom Fridays and a Halloween event in 2025.

In 2026, the address hosted an 18-and-over Nantucket Night and a Bollywood dance event. A planned South Indian college formal featuring Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam music was announced but subsequently marked canceled. As of August 23, 2026, no later 2026 or 2027 events were confirmed in the major public listings reviewed. The official venue information shows operating hours but does not maintain a comprehensive public calendar, so the live listing accompanying this guide should be treated as the primary source for what is currently on sale.

Tickets and Booking

Ticketing is event-specific because many nights are produced by outside promoters. Use the authorized checkout attached to the event listing rather than assuming that a regular nightclub reservation includes admission. Some standard club nights rely on guest lists or payment at the door, while holiday parties, cultural events, touring DJs and artist appearances are more likely to sell advance tickets.

Archived examples range from a $2 Pride afterparty to a $25 charity event and roughly $33 to the high-$30s for advance or door admission to a themed international party. Free or low-cost RSVP tiers also appear occasionally. A practical planning range is therefore free to about $40 for general admission, before service charges; VIP tables and bottle-service minimums are separate and can cost considerably more.

Popular Halloween, New Year's, welcome-week and holiday events should be booked early. Read the ticket conditions closely for age limits, arrival deadlines, refunds and whether a ticket provides priority entry or merely places the purchaser on a guest list. Door admission is never guaranteed once the 275-person licensed capacity is reached.

About Phantom Lounge

Phantom Lounge operates at 1327 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20036. Its current public schedule lists Thursday and Sunday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., although private events and promoter-led nights may use different doors and closing times. The legal trade name remains The Manor/Phantom, and its Class C tavern license includes cover-charge, dancing and entertainment endorsements.

The venue's history begins with The Manor, which regulatory records show operating by 2015. It started as a restaurant-style concept before applying to become a tavern, and its initial operating agreement was approved in 2016. The Manor remained the recorded name through much of 2019; on October 30, 2019, authorities approved Phantom as an additional trade name. Phantom programming was established by 2021 and continues under the same operating company and license.

A 2018 proposal sought a 75-seat rooftop summer garden, but the application was dismissed after the operator failed to appear. No reliable later record confirming that rooftop's approval or construction was found. Visitors should therefore not plan around a rooftop area, even if an older or generic nightlife listing suggests one.

The most recent publicly retrievable licensing roster containing a capacity field lists a total and certificate-of-occupancy capacity of 275 people. Verified room dimensions, square footage and architectural drawings are not publicly available.

Seating and Layout

Phantom is a compact, multi-level lounge organized around dancing, bar service and VIP tables rather than fixed theater seating. Published descriptions indicate that tables and booths occupy a significant portion of the floor plan, with additional upstairs booths used for private groups and celebrations. General-admission patrons should expect to stand or dance for most of the night.

For the strongest club atmosphere, stay near the DJ and central dance area. A VIP booth is better for groups that want a base, table service and somewhere to sit, but it may not offer the clearest uninterrupted view during a live appearance. Arrive early if floor space matters: the licensed capacity is modest, and a layout dominated by tables can feel considerably tighter once the room fills.

No official seating chart, stage dimensions or table map is published. Table positions and dance-floor boundaries may change with the promoter, production equipment and number of VIP bookings. Confirm what a VIP purchase actually includes rather than assuming it provides elevated or front-row viewing.

Getting There and Parking

Phantom Lounge is on Connecticut Avenue just south of Dupont Circle. Dupont Circle station on the Red Line is the nearest Metro stop. The station's south entrance provides the more direct walk, generally taking only a few minutes. The accessible Q Street entrance has street-to-mezzanine and platform elevators but involves a slightly longer walk down Connecticut Avenue.

Metro is convenient for arrival but may not cover the trip home. In 2026, rail generally runs until midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Because Phantom can remain open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, anyone staying through closing should plan for a taxi, rideshare, late-night bus or designated driver. Station-specific last trains can leave before the systemwide closing time.

There is no dedicated venue parking lot or published rideshare zone. A nearby garage at 1333 New Hampshire Avenue NW has advertised evening and weekend prices around $12 to $13, but published operating hours conflict and some listings show a 1 a.m. closing—too early for a full Friday or Saturday club night. Verify garage closing time before leaving the vehicle.

Street parking is limited and heavily regulated around Dupont Circle. Read every curb sign, including temporary restrictions, and do not assume a space remains legal after midnight. For rideshare pickup, move away from the entrance crowd and select a legal, well-lit curb where the driver can stop without blocking Connecticut Avenue.

Inside the Venue

Expect an ID check and security screening before entry. Event terms have authorized searches for weapons, illegal drugs and other prohibited items, while the venue's neighborhood agreement requires adequate security, crowd control, cooperation with police and a formal security plan. Lines can move slowly when several ticket types, guest lists and table reservations are being checked simultaneously. ticketfairy.com

The atmosphere is dark, energetic and table-service-oriented. Bar service, cocktails, bottle presentations, dancing and hookah are commonly associated with the venue. A separate late-night diner operates at the same address, but visitors should not assume that a full restaurant menu is available inside every club event.

No reliable current specifications identify the installed speaker brands, amplifier power, lighting fixtures, video system or DJ equipment. The room clearly supports amplified DJ performances and occasional live appearances, but touring productions should obtain a current technical specification directly through their event organizer. The operating agreement requires sound controls and limits music or vibration audible in neighboring residences.

Public information does not confirm coat check availability, merchandise facilities, charging points or the exact restroom locations. These services may vary by event. Cellular reception can also become less reliable in a busy interior club, so save tickets and important transportation details before entering.

Nearby Amenities

Ghost Dupont Diner shares the address and is a practical post-club option, with burgers, wings, cheesesteaks and snacks offered into the early morning. Lucky Bar is farther south at 1221 Connecticut Avenue and advertises late-night food and cocktails. Hours can change, particularly on Sundays and holidays.

Dupont Circle has restaurants and bars in every direction, but kitchens often close well before Phantom. Eat before 9 p.m. if a full dinner matters. Nearby lodging choices include major hotels around Dupont Circle, the Royal Sonesta area and the Mayflower farther south on Connecticut Avenue, making the venue manageable without a car.

What Makes This Venue Special

Phantom's strength is not architectural monumentality or arena-scale production; it is programming flexibility. Within one compact Dupont room, promoters have presented underground house music, veteran hip-hop, Korean parties, Bollywood and South Asian celebrations, Afrobeats, soca, Pride events, college nights, charity gatherings and holiday parties. That range gives smaller communities access to a centrally located dance venue without needing to fill a large concert hall.

The venue also occupies an active nightlife corridor with immediate Metro access, restaurants and hotels. Its cultural impact is most visible in the communities using it: Black Pride attendees, LGBTQ+ parade visitors, international students, electronic-music audiences and diaspora organizers have all appeared in its recent record. No independent study quantifying jobs, taxes or neighborhood spending was found, so broader economic claims would be speculative.

Its continuing settlement agreement also reflects the compromises required of nightlife in a mixed commercial and residential area. The operator must control noise, provide security, discourage loitering and keep the surrounding sidewalk clean, balancing late-night entertainment with its Dupont Circle neighbors.

Visitor Tips and Information

Age rules vary. Many regular nightlife events are 21 and older, while documented college and themed parties have admitted guests aged 18 and older. Anyone under 21 still cannot purchase or consume alcohol. Bring an original, unexpired government-issued photo ID that matches the ticket name where required. ticketfairy.com

No universal public dress code is posted. Smart nightlife clothing is the safest choice: clean shoes, neat jeans or trousers, and a polished shirt, top or dress. Promoters can impose stricter themed or upscale requirements. Avoid athletic gear, oversized bags or anything likely to create disagreement at the door unless the event description expressly allows it.

Accessibility information is incomplete. Public listings describe access as limited, and the multi-level layout raises questions about step-free routes to every booth or event area. No official ADA guide confirms entrance thresholds, elevators, accessible restrooms or reserved viewing space. Guests who require a step-free route, seating or another accommodation should have arrangements confirmed for the specific event before purchasing.

Visitor feedback is mixed and strongly dependent on the night. Positive comments mention stylish décor, enjoyable DJs, friendly staff and helpful security. Complaints include long bar waits, delayed hookah service, high drink prices, inconsistent music, empty rooms on quieter nights and reentry charges. Check the lineup, arrive early and review the bill before leaving rather than treating every Phantom night as the same experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Phantom Lounge still open in Washington, DC?

Yes. As of August 23, 2026, Phantom Lounge continues to advertise public operating hours at 1327 Connecticut Avenue NW. Its current schedule lists Thursday and Sunday until 2 a.m. and Friday and Saturday until 3 a.m. The legal license name remains The Manor/Phantom, so both names can appear in official records or older listings.

What is the capacity of Phantom Lounge?

The most recent public licensing roster reviewed that includes an occupancy field lists Phantom's total capacity and certificate-of-occupancy capacity as 275. That is the entire licensed venue load, not the number of general-admission tickets available. Staff, performers, table reservations and production requirements can reduce the number of tickets released for an individual event.

Does Phantom Lounge have reserved seating?

Phantom is primarily a standing nightclub with dancing, bars and VIP tables. It does not have numbered theater seats or a permanent reserved-seating chart. Seating is generally attached to a table or bottle-service booking. General-admission guests should expect to stand, and an event ticket should not be interpreted as including a chair unless the description expressly says so.

How much do Phantom Lounge tickets usually cost?

Past event prices suggest a broad range from free or low-cost RSVP admission to approximately $25 to $40 for themed parties, fundraisers and guest programming. Door prices may be higher than advance prices. VIP tables, deposits, expedited entry and bottle minimums are separate products. Always review service charges and arrival deadlines before completing the purchase.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Some regular club nights accept door payment, but it depends on the promoter and available capacity. A sold-out online allocation does not necessarily mean door tickets will be released, and a guest-list registration may expire at a stated time. For Halloween, New Year's, Pride, welcome-week or touring-artist events, buying in advance is the safer approach.

Is Phantom Lounge 18 and over or 21 and over?

There is no single age rule for every event. Many nightclub programs are 21 and older, while several documented student, cultural and themed parties have been advertised as 18 and older. Alcohol remains restricted to guests aged 21 and above. The age printed on the individual event listing takes priority over assumptions based on a previous visit.

What identification should I bring?

Bring an original, unexpired government-issued photo ID. A driver's license, state identification card, passport or other legally accepted document is safer than a photograph or photocopy. The name should match the ticket where an event uses named admission. International guests should avoid relying on unfamiliar local cards if a passport is available.

What is the closest Metro station?

Dupont Circle on the Red Line is the closest station. The south entrance near 19th Street and Dupont Circle is normally the shortest walk to 1327 Connecticut Avenue. Travelers requiring an elevator can use the accessible Q Street entrance and continue south on Connecticut Avenue. Metro reports elevators between the street, mezzanine and both platforms.

Will Metro still be running when Phantom Lounge closes?

Not necessarily. Metro generally runs until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, while Phantom may close at 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Last trains from Dupont Circle can depart before the systemwide closing time. Guests staying until the lights come on should budget for rideshare, taxi or another late-night option.

Where can I park near Phantom Lounge?

Phantom has no dedicated parking lot. Commercial garages operate around Dupont Circle, including one near 1333 New Hampshire Avenue. Advertised evening rates have been around $12, but hours and rates vary, and some published schedules close that garage at 1 a.m. Confirm that overnight exit is possible before parking for a club night ending at 2 or 3 a.m.

Is Phantom Lounge wheelchair accessible?

A complete venue accessibility guide is not publicly available. One current geographic listing describes wheelchair access as limited, while other descriptions identify a multi-level layout. Do not assume that every booth, restroom or viewing area is step-free. Guests needing an accessible entrance, elevator, seating or restroom should obtain event-specific confirmation before buying a ticket or table.

Does Phantom Lounge have a dress code?

No detailed universal dress code is publicly posted. A neat, polished nightclub look is the lowest-risk choice. Avoid dirty sneakers, gym clothing, excessively casual athletic wear and very large outerwear. Theme parties may encourage costumes or specific clothing, while private and upscale events may enforce stricter standards. Admission decisions can remain subject to event and security policies.

Can I leave Phantom Lounge and come back?

Reentry should not be assumed. A recent visitor reported being asked to pay again after leaving because no stamp or wristband was provided. That is anecdotal rather than a published universal policy, but it makes the practical rule clear: ask security before stepping outside. Obtain a wristband or explicit confirmation if reentry is important.

Does Phantom Lounge serve food?

The club experience is centered on drinks, dancing, tables and nightlife service rather than a dependable full dinner menu. Ghost Dupont Diner operates at the same address and offers burgers, wings, sandwiches and snacks into the early morning. Treat it as a separate business and check its kitchen hours rather than assuming food can be ordered from a Phantom table.

Does Phantom Lounge offer hookah?

Hookah is widely associated with Phantom in current nightlife descriptions and visitor reviews, although flavors, prices and availability can change by event. One visitor reported a lengthy wait, illustrating that service can slow when the room is busy. Ask about the total charge and any service fee before ordering, particularly when the hookah is attached to a table tab. ticketfairy.com

Is there a rooftop at Phantom Lounge?

Do not count on one. The Manor applied in 2018 for a 75-seat rooftop summer garden, but the application was dismissed. No subsequent approval or reliable evidence of a completed public rooftop was found during research for this guide. Phantom should be treated as an indoor, multi-level lounge unless the specific event provides verified information to the contrary.

What items are prohibited inside Phantom Lounge?

Weapons, illegal drugs and other illicit items are prohibited, and event conditions have authorized security searches. A complete current bag-size, camera or outside-food policy is not published. Bring only essentials in a small bag, leave professional camera equipment at home unless accredited, and assume outside alcohol, open beverages and anything that could be considered a weapon will be refused. ticketfairy.com

How early should I arrive?

Arrive 30 to 45 minutes before a scheduled performance or guest-list cutoff. For ordinary DJ nights, arriving near opening provides more floor space and easier bar service, although the room may take time to fill. Halloween, Pride, college welcome-week and artist events can produce longer lines. Table groups should arrive together if the booking requires a named host.
