About 201 Lounge Savannah

201 Lounge Savannah is a bar, nightclub, dance venue, and private-event space at 201 James B. Blackburn Drive, Suite B, in Savannah’s airport district. Although entertainment listings often describe it as being in Pooler or South Pooler, the postal address is Savannah, Georgia 31408. It sits near Interstate 95, Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, Crosswinds Golf Club, airport hotels, and the retail corridors of Pooler. The lounge remains open and trading under the 201 Lounge and 201 Tapas Lounge names as of August 18, 2026.

The venue began as the nightlife half of 201 Seafood Restaurant & Tapas Lounge, an ambitious restaurant-and-club complex created by restaurateur Sandi Pardeshi with his brother Raj Patel. The lounge opened on December 23, 2016. Contemporary coverage described an approximately 10,000-square-foot complex divided into separate restaurant and nightclub sides, with the club occupying roughly 6,000 square feet. Public property records describe the full one-story building as approximately 11,343 square feet on a 2.5-acre parcel.

The seafood restaurant eventually closed, while the nightlife operation continued as 201 Tapas Lounge. A breakfast-and-lunch restaurant opened in the other portion of the building in 2023. In October 2024, Savannah approved a liquor, beer, and wine license for Joshua Allen and Eventos Lo Nuestro LLC, identifying the transaction as a new owner taking over an existing bar rather than a newly created venue. The business subsequently became more consistently branded as 201 Lounge Savannah.

A private-event listing gives 150 as the maximum event capacity. Because layouts change for dancing, seated comedy, live bands, VIP furniture, and touring productions, that figure should not be treated as a guaranteed attendance limit for every show. No verified fire-code occupancy, stage measurements, ceiling height, backstage dimensions, or formal seating chart has been published.

Events and Programming

201 Lounge is programmed more like a flexible nightlife hall than a conventional concert venue. Its core identity is DJ-led dancing: Latin music and salsa socials, reggae and dancehall, hip-hop, R&B, Afrobeat, old-school sets, karaoke, and “grown folks” parties. Live tropical and Latin bands appear periodically, while other dates are given to stand-up comedy, burlesque, male revue tours, day parties, holiday celebrations, private receptions, and unusual touring attractions.

The recent public record is incomplete, but it shows a clear programming progression. Latin nights were established by 2022 and were used in connection with a local Alzheimer’s Association fundraiser; a touring adult revue also played the venue that June. Dirty Dolls Burlesque appeared in January 2023. Verified 2024 programming included a new-school-versus-old-school reggaeton party and a comedy appearance, followed by the ownership transition that fall.

During 2025, the calendar included The Maze first-Friday party, touring male entertainment, a Chris Cage comedy show, professional mini-wrestling, and a large Christmas party with DJs and prize giveaways. Visitor reports also continued to identify karaoke on Thursdays, reggae, hip-hop, and R&B on Fridays, and Latin dancing on Saturdays. These weekly patterns can change when a promoter rents the room for a special event.

The 2026 program has demonstrated the room’s range: monthly reggae parties, spring day parties, comedy-and-burlesque productions, mini-wrestling, touring male revues, live Latin bands, Salsa Savannah activities, and the lounge’s first car and bike show. Later-2026 listings also include another touring adult revue. No reliable public announcement for 2027 or beyond was identified as of August 18, 2026.

Regular club nights may be free, use a modest cover, or offer table promotions. Published touring-show prices have sometimes started in the low teens before fees, with VIP, reserved, or ringside packages costing more. Comedy, burlesque, and holiday events are individually priced, so there is no dependable year-round ticket range.

Tickets and Booking

Tickets for promoted productions are normally sold through the event’s official online listing, with door sales offered only when inventory remains. Club nights may collect a cover at the entrance rather than issue advance tickets. There is no confirmed permanent daytime box office, standardized presale program, or season-ticket system.

For comedy, burlesque, mini-wrestling, and revue shows, read the ticket tier carefully. General admission may mean standing room or an unreserved chair, while VIP, ringside, “hot seat,” and table packages can carry different arrival requirements. Some touring promoters require VIP buyers to arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime to retain reserved seating. Refund rules are generally strict and often state that sales are final.

For a popular Latin band, holiday event, or touring production, buy early if sitting is important. For an ordinary DJ night, arriving before the main crowd is often more useful than paying for a premium ticket. Confirm whether a table package includes admission, since nightclub table reservations and event tickets are not always the same product.

Seating and Layout

The room is centered on a large dance floor rather than fixed theater seating. Lounge furniture, tables, VIP sections, and portable chairs can be repositioned around the floor. A rental listing mentions private and semi-private areas, including historically named Savannah and Wright rooms, but no current floor plan confirms how those spaces are used during public nightlife events.

For salsa, bachata, reggae, or DJ nights, the best experience is usually on the open floor, where the sound and social energy are strongest. For comedy or a staged performance, choose a reserved chair or table with a direct view rather than assuming general admission includes seating. For mini-wrestling, ringside tickets provide the closest view but may also place guests near loud impacts and audience interaction.

Recent reviewers consistently praise the spacious, dance-friendly floor, but some have criticized the balance between reserved VIP furniture and ordinary seating. Tables may be marked reserved even when their parties arrive late or never appear. If you need to sit for medical or mobility reasons, do not rely on finding an unused chair after the room fills.

Architecture, Design, and Production

201 Lounge is a modern, one-story commercial venue rather than a historic Savannah building. Its original design combined polished nightclub elements with regional references, including Savannah gray brick, driftwood installations, water-inspired features, leather booths, amber lighting, and a glowing dance floor. The separate restaurant and club entrances allowed the property to operate as two distinct experiences.

A later renovation refreshed the nightclub interior and introduced its most recognizable feature: an enormous illuminated decorative tree rising near the center of the room. Visitors describe it as giving the club a more upscale focal point, while the surrounding open floor remains smooth and practical for partner dancing. Earlier special events also used an LED floor, confetti effects, glow accessories, and club lighting.

The venue promotes its sound and lighting as state of the art, and it accommodates DJs, live bands, microphones, staged comedy, dance productions, and portable wrestling setups. However, no technical rider identifies speaker manufacturers, console models, monitor inventory, lighting fixtures, electrical service, rigging limits, projector specifications, or loading-door dimensions. Visiting producers should therefore regard it as an equipped nightclub, not assume it provides a full concert-production package.

Getting There and Parking

The exact address is 201 James B. Blackburn Drive, Suite B, Savannah, GA 31408. Drivers approaching on Interstate 95 use the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport area and follow Airways Avenue toward James B. Blackburn Drive. The lounge is near the airport rather than downtown Savannah, so visitors staying in the Historic District should allow for a separate drive or rideshare trip.

The property has a dedicated surface lot. Commercial records list approximately 80 parking spaces for the overall building, while the venue’s 2024 security plan says guests park at the front and side and employees use the rear. Multiple special-event listings advertise free parking. Parking is shared across the property, so an unusually large production or daytime event can still create congestion.

Rideshare vehicles should use the front public entrance without blocking circulation through the lot. There is no published dedicated rideshare lane. The security plan states that all guests enter through the front, making it the most practical meeting point when a group arrives in separate vehicles.

Chatham Area Transit Route 3 serves the airport corridor, with the Crossroads and Airways stop reported about a six-minute walk from James B. Blackburn Drive. The standard one-way fare is $1.50, and CAT buses have wheelchair ramps or lifts. Route 3 service is not designed around 3 a.m. nightlife closing times, so a bus may work for arrival but should not be assumed available after a late show.

Inside the Venue

Expect a front-door ID check and security screening. The venue’s filed security plan says all guests are patted down, everyone is required to present identification, and two or three unarmed security guards work whenever the lounge is open. Twelve cameras cover interior and exterior areas, and special-event organizers may be required to provide off-duty police officers. Signs prohibit loitering, soliciting, and firearms.

The lounge has a full bar with cocktails, beer, wine, and liquor. Food remains available at many events, although the menu and kitchen hours vary; current listings describe food at the bar rather than the extensive seafood dining experience associated with the original restaurant. No dependable coat-check service, permanent merchandise counter, charging station, or published restroom map has been confirmed.

The atmosphere depends heavily on the event. Latin socials tend to be participatory and welcoming to dancers, while reggae and R&B nights feel more like a late-night club. Comedy, burlesque, and touring shows use a more audience-facing layout. Reviews generally praise the DJs, cleanliness, mature crowd, visible security, and dance floor, while recurring criticisms involve drink prices, limited general seating, reserved tables, inconsistent crowd size, and occasional bar-service delays.

Accessibility and Inclusive Facilities

The building is one story, and a current local venue guide lists accessible parking. CAT’s nearby Route 3 buses are wheelchair accessible. However, the lounge has not published a detailed ADA guide confirming entrance measurements, accessible restroom specifications, low bar counters, hearing-assistance equipment, companion seating, or a permanently reserved wheelchair viewing area.

Guests who cannot stand for a full event should arrange a seated or table ticket where available rather than depending on open general-admission seating. Anyone sensitive to flashing or rapidly changing lights should note that this is a nightclub with illuminated décor, concert lighting, and touring productions that may use additional effects. The venue’s security plan states that pyrotechnics and indoor sparklers are not used.

Nearby Amenities

The same address houses a breakfast-and-lunch restaurant open during daytime hours, making it useful before an afternoon event but not for a late-night meal. Sam Snead’s Oak Grill & Tavern is nearby for a more substantial pre-show dinner, while Waffle House and several airport-corridor fast-food restaurants offer simpler options. Pooler’s larger restaurant district is a short drive west of Interstate 95.

The lounge is within Savannah Aviation Village, an airport district containing numerous hotels less than a mile from the terminal. Nearby choices include Hyatt Place, Country Inn & Suites, SpringHill Suites, TownePlace Suites, Wingate, Candlewood Suites, Comfort Inn, and several Hilton-affiliated properties. Staying here is convenient for the venue and airport but provides a very different experience from staying in Savannah’s walkable Historic District.

What Makes This Venue Special

201 Lounge matters because it gives West Chatham and the airport area a nightlife room that does not depend on downtown’s bar district. Its original founders deliberately targeted nearby residents, airport travelers, hotel guests, and employees of major regional businesses. The venue combines ample parking and a flexible floor with programming that can shift from partner dancing to comedy or a touring spectacle in a single weekend.

Its most important cultural role is as a meeting place for Savannah’s Latin and Caribbean communities. Salsa Savannah uses the venue for classes and Saturday socials, while past programming has supported Latin business networking and charitable fundraising. Reggae, soca, dancehall, Afrobeat, salsa, bachata, and live tropical music receive regular space alongside Black-oriented “grown folks” parties and mainstream touring entertainment. No formal study has quantified the lounge’s employment, visitor spending, or tax impact.

Visitor Tips and Information

Bring a current government-issued photo ID. The lounge’s filed policy is to identify every guest and admit no one under 21.
Arrive early when you need a chair. General admission should not be interpreted as guaranteed seating.
Use the front and side parking areas designated for guests, leaving the rear employee area clear.
Dress requirements vary by promoter. Most nights suit neat nightlife clothing, while some comedy-and-burlesque events expressly allow guests to come as they are.
Check event-specific photography rules. Touring revues have prohibited photography and video even though ordinary club nights may be less restrictive.
Plan a rideshare or designated driver for late events. The nearby public bus is unlikely to match a 2:45 or 3 a.m. closing time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 201 Lounge Savannah still open?

Yes. Current venue guides, dance-community schedules, reviews, and 2026 event listings show 201 Lounge Savannah operating at its established James B. Blackburn Drive location. It may also appear under the older name 201 Tapas Lounge. Published hours commonly show evening service Monday through Saturday, with Sunday closed, although special events can use different times.

Is 201 Lounge in Savannah or Pooler?

The official street and postal address is in Savannah, Georgia 31408. Many event directories label the area Pooler or South Pooler because the property is immediately beside Pooler’s airport and Interstate 95 commercial district. When entering the destination into navigation, use 201 James B. Blackburn Drive, Suite B, Savannah rather than searching only by neighborhood.

What is the capacity of 201 Lounge Savannah?

A public private-event listing gives a maximum event capacity of 150. The usable number can vary when a promoter installs rows of chairs, a performance stage, wrestling equipment, VIP furniture, or additional production space. No official fire-occupancy certificate is publicly available, so 150 is best understood as a planning figure rather than a guarantee for every configuration.

Is 201 Lounge Savannah strictly 21 and older?

Yes. The security plan filed with the City of Savannah states that the establishment does not allow anyone under 21 to enter. Guests must present identification at the door, and touring-event listings also commonly specify 21-plus admission. Do not assume an early show, daytime party, or food service automatically permits minors unless the individual organizer expressly says otherwise.

What identification should I bring?

Bring a current, physical, government-issued photo ID showing that you are at least 21. The venue’s policy is to check everyone rather than identify only guests who appear young. A photograph of an ID, expired document, school card, or payment card should not be relied upon. International visitors should carry a passport or another legally recognized government photo document.

Does 201 Lounge Savannah have free parking?

Special-event listings frequently advertise free parking, and the property has a dedicated surface lot with guest spaces at the front and side. Commercial records list approximately 80 spaces for the overall building. Parking is not a downtown garage arrangement, but it can become busy during major productions, car events, or overlapping activity elsewhere on the shared property.

Can I take public transportation to 201 Lounge?

Chatham Area Transit Route 3 serves the airport corridor. The Crossroads and Airways stop is reported roughly a six-minute walk from James B. Blackburn Drive, and a standard ride costs $1.50. The route is more practical for arriving than leaving because service normally finishes well before the lounge’s late-night closing time. Arrange another return option before attending.

Is seating guaranteed with general admission?

No. The lounge has a large open dance floor and uses movable chairs, tables, and VIP furniture rather than permanent theater seating. General admission can therefore mean standing room or unassigned seating. Reviews mention occasions when many tables were reserved. Guests who must remain seated should purchase a specifically reserved chair, table, ringside place, or comparable seated ticket when offered.

How early should I arrive?

For an ordinary DJ or dance night, arriving 30 to 45 minutes before the busiest period improves your chances of parking easily and finding available furniture. For comedy, burlesque, mini-wrestling, or touring revues, follow the stated door time. VIP buyers may need to arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime to preserve reserved seating privileges.

Can tickets be purchased at the door?

Door sales are sometimes available, but they depend on the event and remaining capacity. Touring-show notices commonly say that guests may be able to buy at the venue if seats remain, while nightclub covers are often collected only on arrival. Do not depend on door inventory for a limited-capacity comedy show, major Latin band, holiday party, or premium ringside production.

Does 201 Lounge serve food?

Food is available during many events, and current listings describe bar food or event-specific food service. The offering is not necessarily the full seafood and tapas menu associated with the original 201 Seafood Restaurant. Kitchen availability, menu size, and serving hours can change by promoter and night, so eat beforehand if food is essential to your plans.

Is 201 Lounge wheelchair accessible?

The venue occupies a one-story building, and accessible parking is listed by a current local guide. Nearby CAT buses also use wheelchair ramps or lifts. However, no comprehensive venue accessibility guide confirms restroom dimensions, companion-seat procedures, counter heights, or an unobstructed reserved viewing zone. A seated ticket is the safest choice for anyone who cannot use standing general admission.

Is there a dress code?

No single dress code has been published for every night. The general atmosphere favors neat, adult nightlife clothing, especially for Latin socials, table-service parties, and holiday events. Individual promoters may suggest a theme or elevated attire, while at least one comedy-and-burlesque production expressly stated that there was no strict dress code. Avoid clothing that conflicts with security or event rules.

Can I take photographs or videos?

Photography rules depend on the production. Touring male revues have specifically prohibited photos and video during the performance, while ordinary DJ nights may allow casual personal photography. Flash, professional cameras, tripods, and prolonged filming should never be assumed acceptable. Follow the announcement made at entry and stop recording immediately if security, performers, or the event organizer requests it.

What items are prohibited?

The venue’s posted security policy prohibits firearms, and all guests enter through the front security checkpoint and may be patted down. Loitering and soliciting are also prohibited around the entrance. No detailed universal bag-size policy has been published. Bring only essential personal items, leave weapons and outside alcohol behind, and expect an event organizer to impose additional restrictions.

Can 201 Lounge be rented for a private event?

Yes. The venue has historically accepted corporate gatherings, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, birthdays, anniversaries, holiday celebrations, and private nightlife events. Listings identify a full bar, on-site food capability, and private or semi-private areas. The arrangement can be adapted for tables, dancing, DJs, and presentations, but published rental rates, minimum spending, deposits, and included production equipment are not available.

Which night is best for salsa or Latin dancing?

Saturday has been the most consistently documented Latin night, with salsa, bachata, tropical music, reggaeton, and occasional live bands. Salsa Savannah also identifies 201 Lounge as a home for classes and social dancing. Special productions can replace the normal format, so the experience may range from partner-dance social to a high-energy live-band or nightclub event.

How close is 201 Lounge to the airport and hotels?

The lounge is within Savannah Aviation Village, less than a mile from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and surrounded by airport hotels. Several accommodations are within a short walk or very brief drive. This makes 201 convenient for flight crews, travelers, and overnight groups, although hotel shuttles should not be assumed to provide transportation to a nightclub.
