Auro Kitchen & Bar, Delhi: Decadent Food & Live Music

Nestled in the livelihood of Delhi’s famed Hauz Khas area, Auro Kitchen & Bar is easily the city’s most-beloved live performance venue. According to the Auro Kitchen & Bar official website, the venue is “a contemporary bar dedicated to modern Indian cuisine & fusion cocktails.” The venue’s name derives itself from South Delhi’s Aurobindo Market, placed strategically at its entry and amongst other live venues in its vicinity. Auro Kitchen & Bar stays open through all seven days of the week, from 12 PM to 1 AM. You can also access their Happy Hours from 12 PM to 9 PM every day! Staff at Auro are a delightful bunch, available to help you during your visit and to offer house specials and must-try offerings to fit your every mood.

At Auro, you can expect some of the best live talents from both within and outside the country. Since its opening, the venue has featured some of India’s most revered musicians, such as Indian techno veterans Tuhin Mehta and Arjun Vagale, Indian-American Carnatic musician Sid Sriram, and fusion-rock pioneers Indian Ocean. The venue boasts performance spaces that can accommodate DJs and multi-instrument outfits alike, promising no one event like the other.

Auro has also hosted Indian singers Kiss Nuka and Kavya, French producer Teho, German producer Ryan Davis, English electronic musician Zed Bias, and a variety of other stellar talents. While patrons can anticipate some mainstay genres at Auro – namely techno, house, live and experimental electronica and hip hop, R&B and funk – the venue reserves Tuesdays for the more laidback styles. During Auro’s ‘Cool Off Tuesdays’ featuring Soul City India, you are treated to a night full of soul, reggaeton, hip hop and commercial tunes, with extra offers exclusively for Ladies Night!

Auro also frequently collaborates with both local and international labels, organizers and producers, having worked with some of electronic music’s biggest such as Above & Beyond‘s Anjunadeep imprint, Indian dance music label Qilla Records, Indian independent labels NightVibe and Krunk, and Indian online radio station boxout.fm. All in all, there’s always something new to experience at Auro’s live events!

When it comes to the dining experience at Auro, the venue boasts a lavish spread of Continental, Italian and regionally inspired dishes with an “Anglo Indian feel.” Treat yourself to a variety of appetizers, main course delicacies, desserts, or order a serving of Auro’s exquisite baos, dim sums, flatbreads, pasta and sliders. Off their extensive menu, some of the starred recommendations are the Sali Boti (a slow-cooked Parsi mutton curry), the Haleem (a paste-like meat and lentil stew), and the Lemon Grass Chicken.
