About SilverLakes Equestrian and Sports Park

SilverLakes Equestrian and Sports Park is a sprawling 122-acre multi-use complex in Norco, California – the Heart of Horse Town USA. Since opening in September 2015 , SilverLakes has redefined Norco’s identity by merging its equestrian heritage with modern sports and entertainment facilities. This site boasts 24 full-size soccer fields (Bermuda grass) and 4 LED-lit synthetic fields, five full equestrian arenas (two 260’×145’, one 160’×120’, two 160’×105’) with “state-of-the-art custom blend” footing and automated moisture control . The park even includes stabling for up to 1,500 horses . A signature feature is The BackYard concert venue – an open-air stage and lawn area with approximately 10,000-person capacity – and The FieldHouse, a 4,000 sq ft ranch-style restaurant & bar (plus a 4,000 sq ft banquet space upstairs) . Together with an outdoor café (12,000 sq ft) and banquet terrace for 200, SilverLakes serves as a unique community hub. Historically, this property was once the Lyn-Bar Ranch. Norco acquired it amid legal controversies (an SEC/Jonsescrow case and a 2002 federal agreement) on the condition it become “park/open space” . After years of delays (including a major flood in 2010 and extended repairs), construction finally began around 2013; the park fully opened in late 2015 . Its creation brought huge public investment in roads and flood control (Norco even built a protective dike) . In practice, SilverLakes is city-owned but privately managed (Balboa Management Group, led by RJ Brandes). It has drawn more than 1.4 million visitors per year and quickly become notable both as a youth-sports “Wimbledon-level” complex and as a rare hybrid equestrian park with 24/7 year-round programming.

Events and Programming

SilverLakes hosts a busy schedule of sports tournaments, horse shows, concerts and festivals throughout the year. On sports side, it is a flagship venue for Cal South soccer: more than 8 annual tournaments (State Cup, President’s Cup, regionals) bring youth soccer teams from across the West . The 24 fields (many split or full-size) also accommodate flag football, rugby and cross-country meets ; Jurgen Klinsmann, former national coach, has praised the site’s infrastructure and its “opportunity for thousands of kids every weekend to play soccer” . Equestrian events are frequent: The Ranch at SilverLakes (five arenas) offers local gymkhanas, dressage clinics, breed shows and open riding sessions. For example, the “Norco Horse Shows” series runs show days that include Halter, Trail, Hunter, Pleasure and even ranch obstacle classes . SilverLakes also opened its arenas to the community, hosting open-riding events like the annual “SilverLakes Experience” which featured flag parades and free clinics . In practice, horse shows here often do not charge admission for spectators (aside from parking fees). On the entertainment side, SilverLakes examines itself as a regional concert venue. Popular events include the country-music “Boots in the Park” festivals and July celebrations. Boots in the Park (held in March) regularly features Nashville headliners – past lineups have included stars like Blake Shelton, Chris Young, Justin Moore and Frank Ray . For example, a 2022 country festival at SilverLakes brought Blake Shelton and Chris Young. Other signature concerts include “Freestyle” (an electronic/EDM festival on July 2 with fireworks) and “Festival Libertad” (a multi-genre Latin/rock event around July 3) . More recently, SilverLakes has hosted trendy pop culture festivals like Taco Fest 2025 (featuring T.I., Lil Jon, Fat Joe and other 2000s hip-hop acts) . In a typical season the complex may hold 20–25 concerts/festivals . Ticket prices vary widely by show area, from modest $20–$30 for small local artists up to $100+ for major stars (foresale tiers and VIP upgrades are often available). SilverLakes also serves as a community gathering spot. In addition to official events, the facility is available for private parties, company picnics and club meets (over 150 such events take place yearly ). On any given weekend you might find youth sport clubs picnicking at the outdoor café or trail riders stopping by with their horses. Special events past and future include things like Fourth of July celebrations, cross-country running races, and public equine clinics.

Tickets and Booking

For most events at SilverLakes (sports tournaments, horse shows, concerts), tickets or entry passes are sold through the event organizer rather than a central box office. Soccer tournaments and equestrian shows often offer free spectator entry, with participants registering through coordinating leagues (search for “SilverLakes State Cup” etc.). For higher-profile events (concerts, festivals), tickets are typically available online months in advance. Check the SilverLakes website or affiliated promoters for links (for example, Boots in the Park events are found via their website, Freestyle and Taco Fest via ActivatedEvents). SilverLakes itself does not maintain a public box-office counter; often e-tickets (mobile/print) are required. Some ticket outlets (like Illuminate or Ticketmaster partners) provide direct download links, but avoid unofficial scalpers. When a big event (like a country concert or large festival) is announced, tickets often include general-admission lawn and premium tiers. VIP or reserved seats (if offered) are usually in front of the stage or in raised grandstands. Best strategy for hot shows: follow SilverLakes on social media for pre-sale codes, and enroll in any fan club or mailing list (concert series often have early access for subscribers). If an event is sold out, check if standing-room or limited walk-up sales are offered at the venue door, but assume the promo channels are primary. For SilverLakes sports programs or clinics, sign-ups are usually handled through sport governing bodies (CalSouth for soccer, local equestrian clubs for horse shows). There is no general “SilverLakes membership,” but there are recurring events like the local Norco Horse Shows (one-day, open classes) and annual running meets that you can look up by date.

Seating and Layout

SilverLakes is primarily an open-air park, so seating is mostly informal. There are no large fixed stadium stands (except small bleachers at some fields). Festival and concert events rely on two main areas: The BackYard and The FieldHouse. **The FieldHouse** (indoor restaurant/bar) has about 150 seats inside plus room on a patio. **The BackYard** concert space is an outdoor lawn amphitheater – use it like a park. Attendees typically sit on the ground or bring chairs. SilverLakes permits small folding chairs up to 35″ tall ; larger camping chairs or tall loungers are not allowed. (This ensures sight-lines for everyone.) For concerts, if you have VIP or reserved tickets, you may get an assigned seat or a roped-off area near the stage. Otherwise the ground is general admission. Bring blankets or low beach-style chairs for comfort. For sports, optimal viewing depends on the field. Soccer and flag-football fans should stay on the sides of the field, parallel to the touchlines; some fields (especially Fields 1–4) have concrete bleachers. If you’re watching a youth game or tournament, your team’s schedule will note which field they’re on; consult the on-site field map or app to pick the closest parking lot (lots A–F to match Fields 1–24) . There are no overhead roofs, so shade is limited – consider pop-up sun shelters or umbrellas for away spectating (umbrellas are allowed for personal use, but note concert restrictions on path-blocking). For equestrian events at The Ranch, spectators line the perimeter of the sand arenas. Some events bring portable bleachers next to a ring; otherwise stand near the rail (riders often pause for photographers). The barn and walkways offer a close-up horse-handling view, though be mindful of horse trailers and hoof traffic. Acoustically, all fields are outdoors – sound carries but tends to dissipate. Live bands and MCs will be audible across the crowd during events. The concert stage uses professional PA towers; bring earplugs if you’re close nearest the stage or if toddlers are with you. There are LED stadium lights on the synthetic soccer fields only; most evenings games use those. Night parking and walkways are lit, but be cautious walking in dark grassy areas after dusk.

Getting There and Parking

The exact address is **5555 Hamner Avenue, Norco, CA 92860** . SilverLakes sits off Hamner just north of Citrus Street. It’s easily reached via the I-15 freeway: from the north take exit 100 (Norco/6th Street) and head east across the river on Norco Drive to Hamner; from the south take exit 103 (Limonite Ave) and go west to Hamner. The venue is only about 3 miles from the junction of I-15, SR-60 and SR-91. Driving or rideshare/taxi is highly recommended. Public transit is very limited. Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) Bus 3 runs along Hamner Ave between Corona and Eastvale, with stops roughly at Hamner & Hidden Valley Parkway, Hamner & First, and Hamner & Citrus (Commerce) . The closest stop (“Hamner & Commerce”) is about 0.5 mile from the SilverLakes entrance, but that stretch is rural (no sidewalks). Most visitors drive. If using RTA, plan for a 10–15 minute walk from the bus stop up Hamner Ave. On-site parking is extensive. The facility was designed for large crowds and offers about 4,500 paved spaces (including RV and bus lots). Large parking areas are labeled Lot A through F near different field groups . For example, Fields 1–4 park at Lot A, Fields 5–8 split B/C, etc. Consult the posted map so you park by the right field – it can be a long walk otherwise. During events please enter through the main gate on Hamner (turn by Citrus) and staff will direct you. Parking fees are charged at weekends and big events: roughly **$20 per car, $30–40 for RVs/trailers and $50 for buses** . (Weekday tournament days may have a lower or no fee; watch for signage.) Payment is typically cash or credit at the lot entrance. No overnight parking is allowed , and all vehicles must park in marked spaces only . Drop-off/pick-up and rideshare can use the site’s main lane. Tell your driver to access Hamner from Citrus St (the same entrance drivers use). Guests can be dropped near The FieldHouse or concert entrance. After events, be patient – Hamner Ave can get congested. Local hotels (Hampton Inn Norco–Corona/Eastvale at 1530 Hamner Ave, and Tru by Hilton Norco–Eastvale at 3481 Hamner Ave) are 5–10 minutes away, which is handy for out-of-towners.

Inside the Venue

Once inside, expect a ranch-style atmosphere. The sprawling grounds are open-air, so standard event-entry screening may occur. Security may inspect large bags at gates (especially for concerts). All visitors must comply with SilverLakes’ rules: no alcohol or glass, no outside food or drink, no drugs, bicycles or skateboards (to keep horses safe) . On event days you may see wristbands for festival attendees. The FieldHouse Restaurant & Bar is the centerpiece indoors. It’s a modern wood-and-steel clubhouse (about 4,000 sq ft dining plus kitchen) with a polished sports-bar vibe . Inside you’ll find booth seating, banquettes, and a large bar. Menu highlights include steaks, burgers, pizzas, salads and scratch-cooked pub fare . They have a full liquor license – cocktails, beer on tap, wines – and often run daily happy-hour specials. Upstairs (same building) is the FieldsHouse Terrace, a 4,000 sq ft party room overlooking the fields (150-seat capacity banquet space ). On tournament days, the FieldHouse opens evenings (4 pm weekdays, lunch+ dinner on busy weekends) so you can grab dinner without leaving. Restrooms are available on-site there as well. In the open-area common spaces there are few permanent concessions. During youth-sports weekends you’ll usually find a few food trucks or snack stands by the fields (dogs, tacos, snow cones, etc.) to serve players and families. For big concerts there are often temporary vendor booths (tacos, cold drinks, ice cream, merch). Credit cards are widely accepted (no need to bring much cash beyond parking). Wi-Fi is not publicly advertised, and cell reception is generally good (major carriers cover this area). Note that SilverLakes is smoke-free except in marked outdoors areas; e-cigarettes/vapes are also prohibited by park rules . Restroom facilities include the ones inside The FieldHouse and portable or permanent units near the main field areas. At equestrian events you’ll also find restrooms near the horse barn. The venue is fully ADA-compliant – ramps and accessible seating are provided. As the concert policy states, the venue is wheelchair-accessible , and service animals (only) are allowed .

Nearby Amenities

SilverLakes is on the rural edge of Norco, so dining and lodging are a short drive away. Right on Hamner Avenue within a couple miles you’ll find a handful of family restaurants and fast food. For breakfast before an early sports tournament, consider the Original Pancake House (1750 Hamner Ave) or Starbucks (near the 6th St offramp). Classic Norco eateries like Badlands BBQ (smoked meats, near 1st St & Hamner) and Hacienda Mr. Chico (Mexican grill) serve casual dinners. For quick eats there’s In-N-Out Burger (1810 Hamner Ave) and Denny’s at Hamner & 6th. The entire Hampton Inn (Hamner/6th) strip has mixed-use (Starbucks, Jack in the Box, Carl’s Jr.) – just 5 minutes south. Hotels are concentrated near the freeway exits: Hampton Inn Norco/Corona is closest (1530 Hamner Ave), plus Tru by Hilton Norco/Eastvale (3481 Hamner Ave), Holiday Inn Express (off I-15 at 6th Street) and Best Western plus a Travelodge. These are all 3–8 miles away. If staying overnight, pre-book as weekends can sell out for big events. If you have extra time, Norco’s city center (“downtown” at First/D Street, about 15 minutes south on Hamner/Hamner Ave & Sixth St) has more restaurants (In-Laws BBQ, Uptown Tavern) and local shops. But you won’t need to leave SilverLakes for most necessities: fuel stations and a mini-market are within 2 miles on Hamner and Hamner/Citrus.

What Makes This Venue Special

SilverLakes stands out thanks to its blend of ranch spirit and world-class sport facilities. It’s one of the few venues anywhere that caters equally to horseback events and elite youth sports. Locals take pride in it: Norco is known as “Horse Town USA,” and SilverLakes reflects that heritage with its intact ranching feel (you’ll even see horses tied outside on some mornings!). Yet it simultaneously has professional-caliber soccer fields – Jurgen Klinsmann, SilverLakes Park Ambassador, has said the layout is “among the best…in all honesty” he’s seen worldwide . Architecturally, the FieldHouse is a tasteful modern barnhouse complete with giant TVs and a welcoming bar, while the 5-acre equestrian arena complex is meticulously engineered for safety (all-weather footing, irrigation systems) . The concert lawns break the mold for Norco – for decades this was a quiet town, but now it can draw tens of thousands for a country-rock fest or 4th of July celebration . In fact, SilverLakes regularly draws over a million visitors a year , proving it matters to the region’s culture and economy. Historical moments include the dramatic grand opening in 2015 after years of delay, and every major concert is something the town talks about. Insider lore: city council meetings often discuss SilverLakes plans, and locals brag that the park generated “millions of dollars” for Norco’s budget (over $396K per year in lease payments from the developer , plus infrastructure grants). Athletes and parents love SilverLakes for its clean, organized environment; as one official put it, “the facilities are beautiful…they treated us very well” . Fans often wear cowboy hats or team jerseys – the mix of boots and ball caps captures Norco’s unique vibe. Artists enjoy playing here for the enthusiastic hometown crowds; audiences love the relaxed, picnic-like setting. Unlike cramped urban venues, SilverLakes gives you room to roam between games or acts. Its location in the Inland Empire means city visitors (from L.A., Orange County or San Diego) can arrive on the same day and still feel “away” in wide-open space. In sum, and as a Norco councilman concluded, SilverLakes provides a “regional facility” on the scale the area needs – it’s truly a landmark in this horse-loving community.

Visitor Tips and Information

Accessibility: The park is wheelchair-friendly. Paved parking and curb cuts lead to The FieldHouse and The BackYard concert lawn. Restrooms have ADA stalls. If you need special accommodations (e.g. seating), contact event staff at least 14 days ahead . Service animals (officially trained) are welcome in public areas .
Bag and Security Policies: Standard event screening applies. All incoming bags are subject to search. Permitted items include small clear bags (<16″x16″x8″) or purses up to that size , as well as sunscreen, hats, phones, baby strollers, chairs (low-back only) and sealed water bottles (nonalcoholic). Prohibited: large backpacks, outside food or drink (even water) , glass or aluminum containers, professional cameras/videos, drones, umbrellas that block views, weapons of any kind , and unsolicited flyers. In short, pack light and bring only essentials. All items are subject to security approval.
Outside Food/Drink: SilverLakes policy forbids outside food, coolers, alcohol or large drink containers – plan on buying concessions. The FieldHouse and event vendors offer food and snacks. There are water refill stations by the concert lawn (events often have bottled water for sale).
Dress Code: There is no formal dress code. For sports days, comfortable athletic wear and layers (it can cool off at night or in winter) are ideal. Bring a hat and sunscreen for daytime. For concerts or festivals, many fans wear casual summer or country attire (boots, hats) but anything goes. Closed-toe shoes are wise around horses and crowded fields. If rain is forecast, pack a poncho (light rain is “rain or shine” – events continue) but note that large umbrellas are banned in concert areas.
Bring These Essentials: Closed-toe shoes; sunscreen; hat; refillable water bottle (if allowed); a small chair or blanket for sitting on the lawn; earplugs (for horseshoes/events or loud music); ID (for 21+ alcohol sales). Charge your phone – there is no public charging station. Cash isn’t needed for entry (parking and shopping accept cards) but carry small bills for tips or vendors. If attending a tournament, bring cleats, shin guards, etc., and mark your gear.
Timing: Plan to arrive early. For big games or concerts, gates often open 1–3 hours before kickoff/show. (For example, a past Chris Young concert opened doors at noon for a 4PM show .) Arriving early secures parking close to your activity, shorter restroom lines, and a good spot. Leave extra travel time for busy highways near I-15/60/91. After an event, crowds can clog Hamner Ave for 30 minutes – use patience or explore the FieldHouse bar until it clears.
Age Restrictions: SilverLakes itself has no minimum age – children are welcome at youth games and festivals alike. All-ages are allowed at concerts, though under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. (Liquor is only sold to 21+ with ID at the restaurant or bars.) There are no specific height restrictions, but parents should supervise kids around horses and uneven terrain.
Pets: Pets are not allowed. The park rules explicitly ban all pets (except service animals) . This goes for horses too – you can only bring your own horse if you are entered in an equestrian event and have stabling reserved. Watching horses is fine, but please don’t try to ride or feed them, and keep a good distance.
Connectivity: Cell phone coverage is generally good (all major carriers have service here). There is usually no complimentary Wi-Fi for guests (the FieldHouse Wi-Fi is for restaurant customers only). Merchandise and information booths typically accept credit cards or mobile pay. For field days, tournament check-in and results are often posted online, so screen shots or notes are handy.
Common Mistakes to Avoid: Don’t park across the street or in unmarked areas – SilverLakes restricts visitors to its own lots . On busy days, don’t wander the far outskirts of the property (you may end up far from where the event is). If coming for a concert, remember no re-entry – once you leave the concert area, you cannot come back in . And crucially, drive defensively if you’re horse-riding or cycling nearby: Hamner Ave can be surprisingly busy on event days. Lastly, remember that the facility’s bar and cafes close in the evening on weekdays, so if you want a drink, plan to get it before leaving; the FieldHouse closes by 10 pm most nights.
Insider Knowledge: RJ Brandes, SilverLakes’ GM, notes that this complex was built “to create a beautiful and accessible equestrian facility” for Norco – which means locals often feel ownership of it. Riders here often greet each other even if strangers. If you’re uncomfortable in the ballroom bar, the FieldHouse patio is open to the park behind it and has a gentler vibe. Many visitors like to stroll the perimeter paths (the park edges connect to the future Hamner-Citrus greenbelt trails ). Finally, if you’re attending a smaller horse event, ask around – often families bring homemade snacks or set up impromptu tailgate gatherings, so community spirit can take over. Experience the Western theme – don’t be shocked if you see someone riding up to the gate on a horse!

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of events are held at SilverLakes?

SilverLakes hosts a wide range of activities year-round. It is home to soccer and youth sports tournaments (CalSouth State/President’s Cup, flag football, rugby, etc.), equestrian competitions (gymkhana, dressage, open horse shows) and cultural festivals. Signature events include country music festivals like “Boots in the Park” (featuring artists such as Blake Shelton and Chris Young) , 4th‐of-July EDM parties (“Freestyle”) , and pop-up festivals like Festival Libertad (Latino music) and Taco Fest (hip-hop) . Smaller community meets, spring equine clinics and weekend soccer showcases are also typical. The FieldHouse restaurant adds daily dining events and special brunches for families when no large event is scheduled.

How do I purchase tickets to a concert or event at SilverLakes?

Tickets for specific events (concerts or large festivals) are sold through the event promoters. SilverLakes publicity will point you to the correct link (for example, Boots in the Park tickets via the festival’s site, or ActivatedEvents for concert festivals). The SilverLakes website often links to those external ticket sites. There is no permanent ticket booth at the complex; if you missed online sales, check day-of-ticket availability on the promoter’s site – sometimes limited walk-up sales are opened. Youth sports tournaments and horse shows at SilverLakes are usually free to attend; if entry fees apply (e.g. admission to a tournament), they are typically collected at gate by staff.

Is there a box office at SilverLakes?

No, SilverLakes does not have a standalone box office window for general ticket sales. Most events use online-only sales. On event days, there is a staff-operated ticket gate where you scan or buy tickets upon entry, but this is only open around event times (and only if tickets remain). In practice, you should purchase in advance via the promoters or ticket vendors. For daytime sports tournaments, there typically isn’t a gate fee (families just pay parking, if required) .

What are the parking options and costs at SilverLakes?

SilverLakes provides on-site parking in multiple lots (A, B, C, etc.) labeled for fields . During large events or weekends, expect to pay around $20 per car ; RVs/trailers may be $30–$40, buses about $50 . (Special rates can vary by event, but these are typical.) Parking attendants will direct you to the nearest lot for your field or venue. Do not park across the street or in unauthorized lots – only park in the marked SilverLakes spaces . There is no valet or free overflow parking. Note that overnight or tailgate parking is not allowed , and all vehicles must be locked and parked in designated space .

How do I access SilverLakes via public transportation?

Public transit options are limited. The Riverside Transit Agency Bus Route 3 (Corona–Norco–Eastvale) runs along Hamner Avenue. Key stops near SilverLakes include Hamner & Hidden Valley Pkwy, Hamner & First Street, and Hamner & Commerce (Citrus) . From any of these stops, it’s typically a 0.5–1 mile walk south on Hamner to the park entrance. Because sidewalks are sparse, rideshare (Uber/Lyft) or driving are generally easier. The nearest Metrolink (train) station is Corona–North Main, about 8 miles away, requiring a further taxi from there. In short, a car or rideshare is the recommended way to get to SilverLakes.

What is the best seating/viewing area for an event at SilverLakes?

Seating is mostly “bring your own” outdoors. For The BackYard concerts, the best views are toward the front of the lawn. If you have General Admission, arrive early and set up as close to the stage as possible (but allowed space between groups). Small low chairs (no taller than 35″) and blankets are recommended . VIP or reserved areas (when sold) are usually slightly elevated or roped off near the stage for a clear line of sight. At sporting events, standing or sitting on the sidelines gives the best vantage. Bigger soccer matches or finals on Fields 1–4 have concrete bleachers along the side; those are first-come. Children often enjoy sitting near the goal area to watch. For horse events at The Ranch, any position along the arena rail is good – the larger arenas allow spectators to spread out evenly around. Avoid standing directly behind large poles or banners. Night games on the synthetic fields offer great views from any treeline bench because the lights illuminate the whole field evenly. Finally, during hot days, try to find shade (trees near the café or under the FieldHouse awning) after your viewing – the central fields have very little natural shade.

Is SilverLakes wheelchair accessible?

Yes. SilverLakes adheres to ADA standards. The parking lot has marked accessible spaces near the entrance. Paths and ramps lead to the FieldHouse and The BackYard concert area. The FieldHouse Restaurant has wheelchair-accessible seating and restrooms. Outdoor fields are mostly unpaved grass, but special matting or assistance can be arranged for wheelchair users at concerts (see next point). Wheelchair-users should pre-arrange at ticketing for an ADA-designated viewing area near the stage or arena (as noted in the concert guidelines) . Service animals (like guide dogs) are allowed in all areas . If you have any concerns, SilverLakes encourages contacting management in advance so they can ensure a smooth experience.

What items am I allowed or not allowed to bring?

SilverLakes enforces strict bag policies (especially at concerts) to ensure safety. Allowed: small clear plastic bags up to 16"x16"x8", small purses/clutches, cell phones with battery packs, keys, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and sealed personal hygiene items. You may also bring a compact folding chair (no taller than 35″) or a blanket, hand-held camera devices under 6″ (GoPro-style) , earplugs, and an umbrella-style flag. Medications (with ID) and strollers (for infants) are fine. Prohibited: Any backpack or large bag (larger than 16x16x8), external food or beverage (including water bottles) , coolers, ice chests, and similar items. Professional cameras or video gear (detachable lenses, tripods, etc.) are not allowed . Also banned are drones and fireworks. Glass or aluminum containers, large towels or banners blocking views, and anything else that might endanger others or disrupt the event (like wagons, hoverboards or skateboards) are forbidden. If visiting for a horse event, remember horseshoes and metal equipment should stay in your car or truck bed – your personal horse gear should be unloaded at the barn. Basically, pack minimal personal items and leave valuables at home.

Can I bring my dog (or other pet) to SilverLakes?

No. SilverLakes does not allow pets or pets of any kind on the property (the rule covers cats, dogs, etc.) . (Service animals accompanying disabled patrons are the sole exception.) This helps protect the horses, livestock and everyone’s safety. Horse owners with a competition entry must provide their own stabling and keep animals in designated areas only; but visitors without such entries should not bring any horses or pets. There are no dog areas or kennels on site.

What are the on-site food and drink options?

The main on-site food venue is The FieldHouse Restaurant & Bar. It offers full meals (burgers, steaks, pizzas, hearty bar food and plant-based options) in an air-conditioned dining room and patio . There is also a large outdoor café-style patio adjacent. In addition, during tournaments and events you’ll see mobile vendors near the fields (selling snacks, soda, and simple meals). Concerts usually bring in extra vendors (taco trucks, ice pops, local food stands) scattered around the crowd area. Alcohol is sold at The FieldHouse bar and beer gardens at events (21+ with ID only). Note: outside food/drink (including water bottles) is not permitted , so plan to buy on-site. If you need cash for merch or tips, ATMs are not guaranteed, so use credit/debit cards or bring a small amount of cash.

What is the capacity and layout of the concert venue “The BackYard”?

The BackYard is the 10,000-person outdoor concert facility at SilverLakes . It is essentially a flat open lawn with a permanent stage at one end. There is limited tiered seating (front-of-stage risers or a few bleachers) mostly reserved for VIPs. The rest of the area is general admission standing/seating on the grass. The stage faces west; as a result, afternoon sun can be intense in the audience area. Sound and lighting equipment are brought in by promoters, and there are overhead lights for late shows. Acoustics are as you’d expect outdoors – good for amplified music. Note that there is a strict no-blanket rule (for concerts) only at the stage area, but elsewhere you can use low chairs or blankets. Check event bulletins for any additional seating rules (some festivals draw barricades for lawn sections). Always bring your own chair or mat for the grass.

Can I buy tickets at the gate, and what are ticket prices?

For most concerts and festivals, advance purchase is recommended as events often sell out. Organizers may offer limited “day-of” tickets at the gate if availability allows. If so, a staffed window will open alongside the main entrance on event day. Smaller sports events (soccer tournaments, horse shows) usually charge no admission to spectate (the city views them as public recreation). When admission fees are charged (e.g. big weekend tournaments or fairs), they tend to be modest – for example, grand juries have noted past fees of $8 per person or $10 per car . In contrast, concert tickets are full-price: a headliner concert at SilverLakes typically starts around $50+ for general admission (often more for reserved or VIP) depending on the artist. There is no official box office for cash sales except on the event day as noted; all major sales are online. Always check the specific event’s ticket link for current pricing tiers (some events offer early-bird discounts or group rates).

What sort of parking fees and rules apply on event days?

On game days or concerts, SilverLakes typically charges a flat fee for parking in the lots. The prevailing rates (as posted on-site) are about $20 per car, $30–$40 per RV/horse trailer, and $50 per bus . This fee is paid on the way into the lot. Note that fees can vary by event type, so watch for signs. You must park in the designated A–F lots corresponding to your field or venue ; staff will guide you. There is no free lot across the street (do not park there) . Overnight parking or camping is strictly forbidden . After parking, walk or golf-cart shuttle (if available) will take you to the fields/stage area.

Can I re-enter if I leave the concert or event?

Generally, no. Concert and festival tickets at SilverLakes are sold as “no re-entry.” Once you exit the venue area (The BackYard concert lawn or fenced event grounds) for any reason, you will not be allowed to come back in on the same ticket, according to the official concert rules . (This is a common policy to prevent overcrowding.) Sports events and tournaments are less strict about this – you may come and go from the playing fields as needed, though if a fee was collected on entry you might have to show proof of day pass or pay again. To avoid inconvenience, plan to bring what you need inside at the start, and only leave for emergencies once the event starts.
