Events and Programming

Studio 525 is not a conventional concert hall with a fixed season. It is a flexible Chelsea event venue whose calendar changes with each rental. Programming centers on New York Fashion Week presentations, product launches, immersive exhibitions, cultural pop-ups, screenings, cocktail receptions, conferences and private industry events. Some productions are open to the public, but many are invitation-only, press-focused or created for a brand’s guests.

The documented 2021–2025 record demonstrates that range. Annie Leibovitz launched her fashion-photography book Wonderland with an exhibition in 2021. The 2022 calendar included a Studio 54-inspired celebration, Fashion Designers of Latin America runway shows, Gymshark’s fitness-and-beauty activation, Ruinart’s Maison 1729 art exhibition, a Hibiki whiskey experience and a public pop-up connected to the Whitney Houston film I Wanna Dance with Somebody.

In 2023, the studio accommodated Grace Ling’s technology-influenced runway show, a Charlotte Tilbury skincare launch, a Vogue World viewing party, an Amazon Music Latin dinner and Sony’s free, multisensory MANGA in New York exhibition. That exhibition incorporated haptic flooring, scent technology, animation workshops and a live drawing performance, illustrating how thoroughly the building can be transformed.

Notable 2024 activity included Timothy Goodman’s one-night art show, the Rare Beauty blush launch, a cryptocurrency industry discussion, Boy Smells’ collaboration with Kacey Musgraves, Heineken’s Player 0.0 finals and Prada’s public Paradoxe Virtual Flower Lab. The Prada installation used body scanning, artificial-intelligence-driven fragrance elements, flowers and scented bubbles, with lines reported around the block.

The 2025 program continued the fashion-and-experiential emphasis. Studio 525 hosted launches for Woodford Reserve and the Christian Louboutin–Maison Margiela capsule, Kevan Hall’s Japan-inspired collection, Alo’s first handbag line, several Venue Collective runway shows, Nike’s Melitta Baumeister collaboration and Audio-Technica’s HOTARU installation. HOTARU turned footsteps, water and bells into recorded sound that could be cut onto vinyl.

As of August 24, 2026, Studio 525 remains open and taking bookings, but research found no dated public event announced for the remainder of 2026 or beyond. That absence is normal for a venue driven by private rentals and short-lead pop-ups. The live event listing accompanying this guide should therefore be treated as the most useful source for newly released public dates.

Tickets and Booking

Studio 525 does not operate a permanent public box office or a standard ticket onsale schedule. Admission is controlled by the organizer of each event. Public exhibitions have often been free with advance registration, while fashion launches, receptions and industry programs may be guest-list-only. HOTARU and MANGA in New York, for example, offered free public admission subject to registration or capacity.

There is no reliable venue-wide ticket price range because Studio 525 does not set admission prices. Read the individual listing carefully for age limits, timed entry, identification requirements and whether walk-ups are accepted. For a popular free pop-up, reserve the earliest convenient session and arrive before the stated entry time; registration may not guarantee immediate admission when a line forms.

Private event planners book the building rather than individual seats. Published rental listings have recently started around $15,000 for a 12-hour weekday hire, before facilities, staffing, catering and production costs, but commercial rental terms vary substantially by date and scope.

About Studio 525

Studio 525 occupies 525 West 24th Street between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues in West Chelsea. The venue dates the low-rise structure to 1936, when it was built as a garage and warehouse with brickwork and large vehicle doors. Its modern green-paneled frontage replaced much of that original garage-door appearance.

The address became part of Chelsea’s contemporary-art story when Andrea Rosen Gallery moved there in 1998. Its large interior supported ambitious installations until the gallery ended its regular living-artist program in 2017. Studio 525 opened as an event venue in August 2018, retaining the gallery-like scale while adapting the building for fashion, hospitality and experiential production.

The usable ground floor is approximately 5,000 square feet, with capacity commonly stated as about 280 standing or 150–200 seated. Two upper mezzanine areas can function as green rooms, offices, VIP lounges or storage. Published descriptions do not provide dependable wall-to-wall room dimensions, so exact measurements should come from the production floor plan rather than estimates.

Ceiling figures differ according to where and how they are measured. The current venue FAQ gives 11.5 feet at the lowest point and 27 feet at the highest, while marketing materials round the principal volume to 30 feet. The signature elements are the column-free floor, exposed steel beams, polished concrete, matte white walls and cathedral-like central skylight.

Seating and Layout

There are no permanent theater seats. Chairs, tables, stages, runways, bars and installations are brought in for each production. A standing reception can use most of the open floor, while dinners generally accommodate 150–200 people. Classroom layouts are listed at approximately 150, although final permitted capacity depends on the design, exits and production footprint.

The column-free construction is a major sightline advantage. For presentations, screenings or runway shows, the best position depends entirely on the temporary stage and screen placement. Center-floor positions normally provide the most balanced view, while areas beside speakers, behind scenic builds or beneath production equipment may be less desirable. The concrete surfaces and tall volume can sound lively, making professional speaker placement and acoustic control important.

Studio A is the principal high-ceilinged room; Studio B is an adjoining flexible zone. The entrance and coat-check area can manage registration separately from the main experience, while back-of-house rooms allow performers, models and speakers to remain out of public view.

Inside the Venue

Entry procedures are event-specific. Expect ticket or guest-list scanning, bag inspection and identification checks when alcohol is served or an event is restricted to guests aged 21 and older. Studio 525 itself publishes no universal bag-size, camera or dress-code rule, so the organizer’s instructions take precedence. There is a dedicated coat-check and reception area, but whether coat check is staffed or complimentary depends on the production.

The venue has no permanent public restaurant or concession operation. Caterers build temporary bars and service stations, supported by a prep kitchen with refrigeration, warming equipment, stainless-steel work surfaces and a two-compartment sink. Merchandise tables, branded gifts and photo installations appear only when included by the event producer. Multiple renovated restrooms are available, including an ADA restroom on the ground floor.

Production infrastructure includes 400-amp power, three-phase cam-lock service, 120- and 240-volt outlets, individually dimmable track lighting and rigging points on the steel beams. The venue permits approximately 400 pounds at each approved beam intersection, up to 3,200 pounds across the main room. The skylight can be covered with advance arrangements.

High-end speakers are available through a production partner, but clients may bring another audiovisual supplier. No current public specification identifies fixed speaker models, mixing consoles or a permanent concert PA, so visitors should expect the sound and lighting experience to vary significantly. Baseline internet is listed at 50 Mbps upload and download, with bandwidth upgrades available for productions requiring streaming or extensive media use.

Public reviews are limited in number. Recent feedback praises the atmosphere, staff, adaptable open space and gallery-district location; one visitor found the restroom provision tight for a full-capacity event. That small sample is useful context, but it is not broad enough to represent every production.

Getting There and Parking

The closest subway choices are the C and E trains at 23rd Street and Eighth Avenue, approximately 0.4 miles east, and the 7 train at 34th Street–Hudson Yards, approximately 0.4 miles north. From the C/E, walk west on West 23rd Street and turn onto West 24th. From the 7, walk south toward West 24th Street. Allow roughly 10–15 minutes.

The M23 Select Bus is especially convenient, stopping at West 24th Street and Eleventh Avenue near the venue. The M12 also serves the Eleventh Avenue corridor. The 34th Street–Hudson Yards station is elevator-equipped and is generally the most practical subway approach for riders requiring step-free access, although elevator status should be checked before travel.

Studio 525 has no attendee parking lot. A commercial valet garage directly across the block at 546 West 24th Street generally operates from 6 a.m. until midnight. Recent posted examples ranged from approximately $25 for an evening stay to $40–$55 for longer parking, with extra charges for oversized vehicles; event pricing and reservation rates can differ.

Street parking is scarce and subject to meters, loading zones, street-cleaning rules and event restrictions. Rideshare and taxi drop-off normally takes place at the West 24th Street curb, but temporary barriers may shift the exact point. Production crews can arrange curb permits for loading, and the 11.5-by-11.5-foot entrance allows many cars and large scenic items to enter directly.

Nearby Amenities

The surrounding gallery blocks are quieter than central Chelsea, so allow time to walk toward Ninth Avenue, Chelsea Market, the Meatpacking District or Hudson Yards for the widest dining choice. Chelsea Market works well for groups wanting different cuisines, while Hudson Yards offers sit-down restaurants and shopping. The High Line, Hudson River Park and Chelsea Piers are close enough for a pre-event walk.

Nearby hotel options range from The Standard, High Line to Hudson Yards and Midtown properties such as Equinox Hotel, Pendry Manhattan West, Arlo Midtown and Virgin Hotels New York City. After a late reception, the C/E and 7 trains remain the principal subway options, supplemented by buses, taxis and rideshare services.

What Makes Studio 525 Special

Studio 525’s defining quality is not a permanent stage or décor scheme but its ability to disappear into the event. The same white room has become a futuristic runway, Japanese-inspired listening garden, fragrance laboratory, photography exhibition, whiskey salon, movie experience and fashion showroom. Vehicle access and a column-free floor also make full-scale automobile presentations possible.

Its history mirrors West Chelsea itself: industrial infrastructure became gallery space, then evolved into an experiential venue without completely losing its warehouse character. Programming tied to Fashion Week, Tribeca, art fairs, product design and international culture brings designers, artists, technicians, caterers and visitors into the neighborhood. No venue-specific economic-impact study is publicly available, but its event record demonstrates sustained work for New York’s creative-production economy.

Visitor Tips and Information

The main event floor is at street level, wheelchair accessible and served by an ADA restroom. Sources conflict about whether every upper mezzanine is reachable by elevator, so guests who require access to a VIP room, green room or upstairs program should obtain confirmation through their event organizer. Most public activity can be arranged entirely on the accessible ground floor.

Do not assume that a registration time is the same as the performance time. Arrive 20–30 minutes early for a high-demand public pop-up, carry government-issued identification when alcohol may be served and dress for standing unless reserved seating is specifically promised. Loud sound and activity are not permitted before 7 a.m. or after 10 p.m., so Studio 525 events generally finish earlier than nightclub programming.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Studio 525 still open?

Yes. Studio 525 remains open at 525 West 24th Street and continues to accept private event bookings. Its current materials carry a 2026 copyright and feature recent 2025 fashion, product and immersive productions. It should not be confused with the operator’s newer outdoor activation space near the Javits Center, which is a separate venue.

Does Studio 525 have a public box office?

No permanent box office is advertised. Tickets, registrations and guest lists are administered by the company, designer, festival or producer presenting each event. If a listing provides a timed reservation, use the name and identification entered during registration. Door sales should never be assumed, especially for fashion launches, private receptions or free pop-ups with limited capacity.

How much do Studio 525 tickets cost?

There is no standard price. Many of the best-known public exhibitions have been free with registration, while most fashion parties and product launches are invitation-only rather than ticketed. Paid conferences, dinners or benefit events establish their own prices. The absence of a listed price often means registration or an invitation is required, not that unrestricted walk-in admission is available.

What is the exact Studio 525 address?

Studio 525 is at 525 West 24th Street, New York, NY 10011, between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues in West Chelsea. The entrance is at street level on West 24th Street. Large exterior branding may temporarily obscure the venue’s normal appearance, so look for the event’s signs, queue barriers or check-in staff near the curb.

What is the easiest subway route?

The C or E train to 23rd Street and Eighth Avenue provides a straightforward walk west of about 0.4 miles. The 7 train to 34th Street–Hudson Yards is a similar distance to the north. The 7 station has elevators, making it the more dependable step-free subway option, subject to real-time elevator availability.

Is there parking at Studio 525?

There is no private attendee parking. A commercial valet garage at 546 West 24th Street sits almost opposite the venue and normally closes at midnight. Expect Manhattan pricing, possible event surcharges and additional fees for large vehicles. Street spaces are difficult to find, so public transit, taxi or rideshare is usually more predictable for evening attendance.

How many people does Studio 525 hold?

The current venue guidance describes a flexible range of roughly 40–280 guests. A full standing reception can approach 280, while seated dinners generally accommodate 150–200. Classroom-style plans are commonly listed around 150. Staging, bars, installations, coat-check lines and accessible circulation can reduce the usable guest count for a particular event.

Does Studio 525 have permanent seats?

No. It is a white-box event studio rather than a theater, so every seating plan is temporary. Organizers may install banquet chairs, runway benches, lounge furniture, classroom rows or no seating at all. A ticket stating general admission does not imply a chair. Guests who cannot stand for extended periods should request an accommodation before arrival.

Is Studio 525 wheelchair accessible?

The principal event floor has ground-level access and an ADA restroom, and venue listings describe the property as ADA compliant. Information about step-free access to every upper mezzanine is inconsistent, however. If an event advertises an upstairs VIP area, dressing room or secondary experience, ask the organizer to confirm its accessible route and any equivalent ground-floor arrangement.

Does Studio 525 have a coat check?

Yes, the building includes a dedicated reception and coat-check area with racks, hangers and claim tickets. Whether it operates during your event is the organizer’s decision, and a fee may be imposed. During winter events, do not leave valuables in coat pockets. Large luggage should be avoided unless the event has explicitly arranged secure storage.

Can visitors buy food and drinks inside?

Studio 525 has no permanent restaurant, café or public bar. Event caterers create temporary service according to the booking. Some receptions include complimentary drinks and passed food; others sell beverages or provide none. The back-of-house prep kitchen supports catering, but guests cannot use it. Review the event description before assuming a full meal will be available.

Are Studio 525 events restricted to ages 21 and older?

Not automatically. Age rules depend on the event. Family workshops and public art exhibitions have admitted children, while alcohol-centered launches and certain evening experiences have required guests to be 21 or older. Bring government-issued photo identification whenever an event serves alcohol, even if your reservation confirmation does not prominently repeat the age requirement.

What is the bag and photography policy?

No permanent public bag-size or photography policy is published for all events. Security teams may inspect bags, and producers can prohibit professional cameras, flash, tripods or filming when unreleased products and celebrity guests are present. Bring the smallest practical bag and follow posted notices. Press credentials or a camera invitation do not necessarily authorize unrestricted backstage photography.

How late can events run at Studio 525?

The venue does not allow loud sound or activity before 7 a.m. or after 10 p.m., reflecting its commitment to neighboring properties and city noise requirements. An event may continue quietly during breakdown, but guests should expect amplified programming to end by 10 p.m. Plan dinner, transportation and after-parties around an earlier finish than a typical nightclub.

Does Studio 525 have Wi-Fi and cellular service?

The venue lists Wi-Fi with a baseline connection of approximately 50 Mbps upload and download, and production clients can purchase additional bandwidth. Event-specific networks may be private or branded. Cellular performance can fluctuate when hundreds of guests are uploading media simultaneously, so save tickets, QR codes and transportation details to your phone before entering.

Can a car be brought inside Studio 525?

Yes. The street-level opening measures approximately 11.5 by 11.5 feet, followed by an interior passage about 88 inches wide. That access has helped Studio 525 host automobile reveals and large fabricated installations without a loading elevator. Vehicle dimensions, weight, fuel, battery and fire-safety arrangements still require advance production approval.

Is Studio 525 an indoor or outdoor venue?

Studio 525 is an indoor, climate-controlled event venue. Its large skylight brings substantial daylight into daytime productions, but the skylight can be covered for projection, controlled lighting or privacy. Weather may still affect outdoor queues and curbside check-in, so bring rain protection when an event anticipates lines. The operator’s Hudson Yards outdoor space is a separate property.

Why does Studio 525 look different in every event photo?

The venue is deliberately designed as a transformable white box. Producers can install temporary walls, flooring, projection, runway seating, bars, floral structures and exterior branding. Painting, drilling and wall attachments may be approved provided the room is returned to clean white afterward. That flexibility explains why one production can resemble a gallery and the next a completely enclosed theatrical environment.
